The normal of yang phrase of menstrual cycle accordingly to traditional
Chinese medicine can not be shorter then 10 days. But for what ever
reason, some women experience the luteal phase defect because of excess
heat leading to infertility.
I. Symptoms of excessive heat

II. Causes
1. Liver qi
Liver
qi is important in assisting the heart to move blood in the blood
vessels. Liver qi abnormal function causes sluggish blood flow or out of

2. Blood stasis

blood flow is important in nourishing our body cells, tissues and
organs. If blood is stasis, qi needs to push harder to move blood,
leading to blood clot and heat.
3. Kidney yin deficiency
Kidney
yin deficiency causes less moister to be distributed to the body,
leading to heat being generated that distorts the liver function in yin
and transformation.
4. Excessive yang
Excessive yang can be
caused by intake of spicy and hot food, leading to the rise of yang that
quickly triggers the function of liver in transform yang to yin
resulting in shortened yang phrase that not allows the uterine lining to
preform its function in egg implantation.
III. treatments
A. With herbs
1. Bu gong yin (Dandelion)
Bu gong yin is cold in nature and used to clear toxic body heat and liver heat by strengthening the liver and stomach channels.
2. Mi meng hua (Buddleia flower bud)
the herb is cool in nature and used to tonify the liver and lower liver heat by enhancing the function of liver channel.
3. Qing xiang zi (Celosia seeds)
this
herb is also cool in nature and used to to drain liver fire, clear heat
and wind by promoting the function of liver channel as well.
4. Jue ming zi (Cassia seed)
Jue
ming zi has been used in traditional Chinese medicine in clearing liver
heat, moistening the Intestines and promoting bowel movement by
strengthening the liver and intestine channels.
5. Han shui shi
It has a function in clearing heat and dispersing fire in the body by strengthening the liver channel.
