Spleen is an organ responsible for foods absorption and transformation
food essence and qi to the body organs, deficiency of spleen qi causes
not enough energy being transport to kidney, leading to kidney qi
deficiency that disturbs the normal process of kidney in regulating each
step of menstrual cycle, including phase I.
I. Symptoms
1. Shallow breathing
It is caused by the inability of spleen in controlling the upright qi and assisting the function of kidney in moving qi upward.
2. Headache
Since spleen in the house of thought, deficiency of spleen causes nervous tension, leading to prolonged headache.
3. Dizziness and fatigue
Spleen
is important for nourishing the formation of blood of the liver,
deficiency of spleen causes abnormal function of liver function, leading
to not enough blood in circulating in the blood vessel, resulting in
dizziness, fatigue and tiredness.
4. Bloating, gas and abdominal discomfort
Since
spleen controls the transformation and distribution of qi and
absorption of food essence, deficiency of spleen causes indigestion,
leading to bloating, gas and dampness accumulation in the abnormal
region, resulting in admen discomfort.
II. Causes
1. Cool Food diet
Prolonged
period of eating raw, cool and may cold food hinders the spleen
function in transformation and distribution of spleen function, leading
to spleen qi deficiency.
2. Eating habits
People who eat little protein, irregular eating or excessive eat can also cause spleen deficiency.
3. Occupation
Women who works in the damp condition can also cause dampness accumulation leading to spleen deficiency.
4. Stress and worrisomeness
Since spleen control the mind and though, prolonged period of stress and worrisomeness can cause spleen qi deficiency.
5. Stomach disorder
If
the stomach is unable to digest food properly, it will affect the
spleen function in food essence transformation and distribution as a
result of spleen qi deficiency.
III. Treatments
1. Herbs
a) Codonopsis (Dangshen)
It is one of the most used herb that reinforces the spleen, nourishes blood.
b) Ginseng (Renshen)
Ginseng is a very powerful qi tonic herb and used to tonify original Qi and extreme qi deficiency.
c) Astragalus (Huangqi)
it has been used in traditional Chinese medicine in tonifying spleen and lung qi and raising spleen and stomach qi.
d) Jujube Dates (Dazao)
It is a good herb for tonifying spleen qi and short of breath and nourishing blood.2. Acupuncture

CV12 (zhongwan), ST36 (Zusanlin) ,SP6 (Sanyinjao), SP3 (Taibai), UB20 (Pishu),UB21 (Weishu), CV6 (Qihai)
3. Foods
a) Pumpkin
b) Carrot

e) Brown rice
f) Avoid intake of raw, cool, cold foods and foods with artificial ingredients.
