Aloe Vera or Aloe Vera supplement may be used to delay skin aging that causes expression of wrinkle, some scientists suggested.

Skin aging is a natural and biological process that change with age including wrinkles, age spots and dryness.

As we age, the skin also becomes thinner and loses fat, these conditions increase less plump and smooth. In case of injure, the skin also.takes longer to heal, too.

Wrinkle is a skin degenerative condition caused by the loss of dermis and subcutaneous fat layer underneath the skin, leading to a slight line or fold on the skin, particular in the face.

Unhealthy diet and life style also are major factors that increase early onset of skin aging.

Stacey Colino, a freelance Health & Wellness reporter at U.S. News, in the article of  "6 Surprising Factors That Can Accelerate the Aging of Your Skin" suggested that consuming lots of highly processed or sugary foods, always sleeping on the same side, being depressed, yo yo diet, long term intake of certain medicine such as corticosteroids, antibiotics, ACE inhibitors and diuretics and being a frequent flyer are also associated to prevalent risk factors of early aging(6).

Smoking causes over expression of free radicals that can damage skin cells in facilitated premature wrinkles.

Other causable factors such as stress, gravity, daily facial movement, obesity,..... and even sleep pattern may also have some effects in stimulated premature aging.

According to the University of Paris VI, free radical generation in the skin by UV light and from other sources, such as cellular infiltrations or the xanthine oxidase reaction also may contribute to at least retardation of premature cutaneous aging(4).

In the report of “Global Anti-Aging Market Research Report and Forecast to 2017-2022” published by OrbisResearch.com, the writer wrote, "The Global Anti-Aging Market was worth $250 billion in 2016 and estimated to be growing at a CAGR of 5.8%, to reach $331.41 billion by 2021" and "The future growth of anti-aging market is observed to rely on the advancement and technological development with enhanced efficacy and safety of anti-aging products"(5).

Aloe Vera is species of succulent plant in the genus Aloe, belongings to the Family Xanthorrhoeaceae, native to Sudan. een

The plant is very popular for commercial cultivation due to its health benefits. Herbal Aloe Vera has used in traditional medicine to treat wound, burn healing, minor skin infections, sebaceous cysts, diabetes,....... and elevated of cholesterol.

According to the Food Ingredients & Technology Institute, daily oral intake of plant sterols of Aloe vera gel (Aloe sterol) significantly increases the skin barrier function, moisture, and elasticity in photoprotected skin of that may reduce risk of skin wrinkle.

In a 12-week, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study, in 48 apparently healthy men (age range: 30-59 years; average: 45 years), intake of oral Aloe sterol supplementation after 12 weeks showed a significant improvement of the skin elasticity index in comparison in the baseline value.

Dr. Tanaka M, the lead author said, "Aloe sterol ingestion increased skin elasticity in the photodamaged skin of men aged <46 years, and "No Aloe sterol intake-dependent harmful phenomenon was observed during the intake period".

Furthermore, in vitro, Aloe sterols increased production of collagen and hyaluronic acid, natural substance in skin response to connective, epithelial, and neural tissues. approximately two-fold and 1.5-fold, and promoted gene expression levels in human dermal fibroblasts.

In fact, daily oral Aloe sterol-containing Aloe vera gel powder (AVGP) significantly reduced facial wrinkles in women aged ≥40 years as well as stimulated collagen and hyaluronic acid production by human dermal fibroblasts.

In support of the above evaluation, intake of Aloe Vera gel enhanced healthy skin through promoting elasticity (R2), net elasticity (R5), and biological elasticity (R7) scores and skin fatigue area F3,the Food Ingredients and Technology Institute 12 weeks study suggested.

Taking altogether, there is no doubt that oral administration of Aloe Vera or Aloe Vera supplements may improve skin condition including wrinkle, caused by skin aging, but quality of amount intake should only be prescribed by related field specialist.
