Detoxification: How to Detox and Nourish Your Body with Nutritional Supplements

Western diet bears high saturated fat, trans fat, and other harmful substances such as sugar, caffeine, pesticides, additive substances, and less in fruits and vegetables.

These types of harmful substances are toxic.

Our body's detoxifying functions try to get rid of them everyday, when they fail, toxins accumation can cause disruption of hormone production, damage of our body's detoxification organs and weakening of our immune system that can lead to hormone imbalance and chronic illnesses.

Nutritional supplements are also known as dietary supplement that provide additional nutrients to the body including vitamins, minerals, proteins, amino acids or other nutritional substances.

Although a balanced and varied diet is the best source of essential vitamins and minerals. However,  nutrient deficiencies occur, even in populations of countries with plentiful food supplies.
Particularly, American diet is a complete opposite to resemblance of what experts recommend for fruit, vegetables, and whole grains, which can contribute to important sources of an array of vitamins and minerals.

Therefore, people who follow the American diet may require to take additional nutrients from supplementation.

Dr. Elizabeth Ward said, " With time, deficiencies in one or more micronutrients may lead to serious health issues. A common reason people take multivitamin and mineral (MVM) supplements is to maintain or improve health, but research examining the effectiveness of MVMs in the prevention of certain chronic conditions is ongoing"(4).

Nutritional Supplements That Detox and Nourish Your Body include
1. Pumpkin seed
Pumpkin seeds contain high amounts of alpha carotene and beta carotene that are antioxidants(1) that help the immune system(2) in fighting inflammation caused by over expression of free radicals(1),

ROS is best know to alter cells DNA through cytotoxicity effect in induction of cancers(3).

Dr. A K the lead scientist in the evaluation of the effects of pumpkin seed oils suggested that Cucurbita maxima seeds oil (CSO (100 mg/kg body weight)) injected to high fat diet (HFD)-induced obese rats for 30 days causes significant change of lipid metabolic enzymes and inflammatory markers through ameliorateing the HFD-induced obesity by altering the enzymes and mRNA expressions important to lipid metabolism(5).

Some researchers suggested that pumpkins seed oil can detox the body through eliminating toxins secreted by parasites and parasites, such as adult tapeworms of Taenia spp. that cause infection in the upper small intestine of humans(6)

2. Chlorella
Chlorella is a fresh water algae containing a variety of vitamins, minerals and substances.

The algae processes abundant antioxidant that strengthen our brain functions by removing metals accumulated(3),

Chlorella also contains beta carotene, amino acid, lutein, the powerful antioxidants that help to remove calcium stuck in arterial wall, make the arteries elastic(7), repairing the DNA damage of cells(3), as well as detoxifying our body toxins and against the forming of cancerous free radicals(3).

Dr. Mercola found that chlorella may be effective in removed mercury from your tissues(8).
3. Chrysin
Chrsysin is a bioflavonoid that regulates the production of growth hormones(10), increasing alertness, memory and reduce stress and anxiety(11).

For example administration of chrysin altered levels of testosterone in patients with enlarge prostate that restores glutathione and suppresses superoxide dismutase and catalase activities, and elevated lipid peroxidation(10)
Injection of chrysin at the total dose of 160 mg/kg strongly suppresses the growth of colon cancer xenograft in mice, through cytotoxic activities in increased cell cycle arrest and decreased tumor cells proliferation according to science direct(9),

4. Cinnamon bark
Cinnamon bark is an evergreen tree belongings to the family Lauraceae.

Besides having proven record in treating diabetes and insulin resistance(12), it is also a powerful anti-inflammation and antioxidant(13), many times more powerful than vitamin C that helps to strengthen the immune system(3) and fighting off the forming of free radicals(13) in induction of chronic illness.

The supplement also has a profound effect in detox liver caused by over expression of ROS(14) induced by toxin accumulation.

5. DHEA
DHEA is a natural hormone that enhances the function of the brain(15) and promote longevity(16). caused by low levels of growth hormones as aging progress.

Deficiency of DHEA causes weakening of immune system(17) and skin problems(18) as well as degeneration of brain resulting in Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases(17).

6. NADH
The shortened name of nicotinmide adenine dinucleotide, also called co enzyme Q1, is a powerful antioxidant that not only rejuvenates(19) our body's cell and help fight against early aging(19), but also helps to reduce the accumulation of heavy metals(20), improve memory, reduce stress, anxiety, depression and provide energy for function of the brain(21).
