The Health Effects of #Sencha #GreenTea on External Anogenital Warts, According to Studies

Kyle J. Norton

Sencha is a type of decocted Japanese green tea, the most popular tea in Japan, made from dried tea leaves without grinding the tea leaves. Its volatile compounds could be used as markers for the overall quality evaluation of all green tea.

Health Benefits of Sencha Tea - External Anogenital Warts

a. In the investigation of green tea catechins and external anogenital warts of the study of "Efficacy, safety, and tolerability of green tea catechins in the treatment of external anogenital warts: a systematic review and meta-analysis" by Tzellos TG, Sardeli C, Lallas A, Papazisis G, Chourdakis M, Kouvelas D.[20], researchers found that the efficacy of Polyphenon 15% and 10%, at least for the primary endpoint, is clearly indicated. Polyphenon E treatment exhibits very low recurrence rates and appears to have a rather favorable safety and tolerability profile.

b. In the evaluation of Polyphenon E and external anogenital warts of the study of "Polyphenon E (a mixture of green tea catechins) a new treatment for external anogenital warts' by Tatti S, Stockfleth E, Beutner KR, Tawfik H, Elsasser U, Weyrauch P, Mescheder A.[20b], researchers found that severe local signs were more frequent but moderate in the active treatment groups (1.5%, 9.2%, and 13.5% for G(Veh), G(10%), and G(15%) groups, respectively) and concluded that polyphenon E ointment is effective and well tolerated in the treatment of External genital warts(EGWs).

c. In the examination of the effect of Sinecatechins in treating external anogenital warts" of the study of 'Sinecatechins, a defined green tea extract, in the treatment of external anogenital warts: a randomized controlled trial" by Tatti S, Swinehart JM, Thielert C, Tawfik H, Mescheder A, Beutner KR.[20c], researchers found that sinecatechins ointment has exerted partial clearance rates of at least 50% were reported for 78.4% and 74.0% of patients in the sinecatechins ointment.

d. In the evaluation of Green tea catechins and external genital warts of the study of "Green tea catechins for treatment of external genital warts" by Meltzer SM, Monk BJ, Tewari KS.[20d], researchers wrote that the mechanism of action, percent of wart clearance, time to clearance, and toxicity profile of green tea catechins are compared with those of podofilox and imiquimod, 2 other patient-administered topical agents approved for the treatment of anogenital warts.

Health Benefits of Sencha Tea - Antidepressant Properties
a. In the observation of the effects of Green tea consumption and psychological distress of the study of "Green tea consumption is associated with lower psychological distress in a general population: the Ohsaki Cohort 2006 Study" by Atsushi Hozawa, Shinichi Kuriyama, Naoki Nakaya, Kaori Ohmori-Matsuda, Masako Kakizaki, Toshimasa Sone, Masato Nagai, Yumi Sugawara, Akemi Nitta, Yasutake Tomata, Kaijun Niu, and Ichiro Tsuji[21a], researchers found that The odds ratio (with 95% CI) of developing psychological distress among respondents who consumed ≥5 cups of green tea/d was 0.80 (0.70, 0.91) compared with those who consumed <1 cup/d and concluded that Green tea consumption was inversely associated with psychological distress even after adjustment for possible confounding factors.

b. In the investigation of Green tea consumption and the risk of depressive symptoms of the study "Green tea consumption is associated with depressive symptoms in the elderly" by Niu K, Hozawa A, Kuriyama S, Ebihara S, Guo H, Nakaya N, Ohmori-Matsuda K, Takahashi H, Masamune Y, Asada M, Sasaki S, Arai H, Awata S, Nagatomi R, Tsuji I.[20b], researchers found that the prevalence of mild and severe and severe depressive symptoms was 34.1% and 20.2%, respectively, and concluded that more frequent consumption of green tea was associated with a lower prevalence of depressive symptoms in the community-dwelling older population.

c. In the evaluation of the effects of (-)-Epigallocatechin gallate (green tea polyphenol) and acute stress responses of the study of "(-)-Epigallocatechin gallate attenuates acute stress responses through GABAergic system in the brain" by Adachi N, Tomonaga S, Tachibana T, Denbow DM, Furuse M., researchers found that EGCG on distress-induced vocalization were significantly attenuated by the GABAA receptor antagonist picrotoxin but not by the GABAB receptor antagonist CGP 54626 (3-N-(1-(3,4-dichlorophenyl)ethylamino)-2-hydroxypropyl cyclohexylmethyl phosphinic acid hydrochloride) and concluded that EGCG has sedative and hypnotic effects in the brain, partially through GABAA receptors, and consequently moderates an acute stress response.

#Catsclaw Inhibits the Proteins and Improves Immunosuppression Associated with the Cause of Type I #Diabetes, Scientists Found

Kyle J. Norton

Scientists who work for big pharmaceutical companies have tried to mimic and replace the effectiveness of herbal phytochemical single ingredients with their synthetic version, which can be patented for commercial profits.

Even they know exactly the discovery in the treatment of certain diseases may induce serious side effects.

Therefore, if you are taking any conventional medicine, please discuss the adverse effects with your doctor.

A recent study suggested that Cat's Claw may be effective to cure type 1 diabetes induced by Th1/Th2 (T cell) cytokine production.

Unlike type 2 diabetes which is caused by Insulin resistance due to an unhealthy diet, genetics,.... and lifestyle, type 1 diabetes is a chronic disease characterized by an inability of the pancreas in produced insulin. a hormone with function in normalized the level of glucose caused by the immune system mistakenly attacks and destroys the beta cells in the pancreas.

Researchers do not know why the immune system produces autoantibodies.to attack the pancreas beta cells?

Patients with type 1 diabetes are associated with classical symptoms of frequent urination, increased thirst, increased hunger,..... and weight loss.

Some scientists in the differentiation of the difference between type 1 and type 2 diabetes found that the symptoms of type 2 diabetes are developed over a long period of time compared to the short period of time in type 1 patients.

According to the statistic in 2015, over 30 million Americans, or 9.4% of the population, had diabetes, including 125 million children and adults who had developed type 1 diabetes.

Patients with type 1 diabetes must inject insulin for survival, however, a healthy diet and lifestyle are also a must to improve quality of life and reduce the risk of diabetic complications.
If Untreated or poor management, type 1 diabetes can cause long-term complications of heart disease, stroke, kidney failure, foot ulcers,...... and eyes damage

Cat's claw found in the tropical jungles of South and Central America, is a genus Uncaria, belonging to the family Rubiaceae, used in traditional medicine over two thousand years as a tonic, contraceptive, anti-inflammatory and infectious agent, and to treat diarrhea, rheumatic disorders, acne, diabetes, cancer and diseases of the urinary tract, etc.

In vivo, immunotoxicity testing, BALB/c male mice treated once a day with 125, 500, or 1250 mg/kg of U. tomentosa extract for 28 days, increased the number of T helper lymphocytes and B lymphocytes.

The whole herb medicine also significantly exerted a large stimulatory effect on lymphocyte(a form of small white blood cell) viability.

Another study involved C57BL/6 male mice injected with MLDS (40 mg/kg) orally treated with UT at 10-400mg/kg during 21 days, which showed to express significant protection against the loss of insulin-secreting presented β-cells, through modulated the production of two helper T cell classes, known as Th1 and Th2, with increased levels of type-2 T helper cells and mast cells, known as IL-5 and the protein regulated activities of white blood cells known as IL-2.

Further linking Interleukin-2 effected on type I diabetes, the study of Interleukin-2 and type 1 diabetes and several autoimmune diseases suggested that depended on interleukin-2 (IL-2) in proliferating and controlling the T effector cells (Teff) reaction, low dose IL-2 treatment at the initial time of diabetes can rescue insulin secretion by restoring proteins expression.

Dr. Rosenzwajg M, the lead author said, " Regulatory T cells (Tregs) play a major role in controlling effector T cells (Teffs) responding to self-antigens, which cause autoimmune diseases.,....and expanding/activating Tregs with low-dose interleukin-2 (IL-2) could provide immunoregulation without immunosuppression"

Cat's Claw may be effective in protein-regulated activities of white blood cells, known as IL-2 through improvement of immune function in induced immunosuppression cause of Type I diabetes, but the quantity intake should only be prescribed by professional herbalist to prevent toxicity.

However, further data collection on studies performed with human consumption during the course of the disease will be necessary to complete the picture of its anti type 1 diabetes possibilities.

And intake of Cat's Claw supplements and phytochemicals should be taken with care, as acute liver toxicity caused by overdoses had been reported in a number of cases.

Herbal #Anise Extracts Alleviate Pain Caused by #Natural Spasmodic Activities, Muscles and Blood Vessels Constriction Naturally

Kyle J. Norton

Anise may have potential and substantial relaxant effects in reduced overexpression of vessel and muscle constrictions in the precipitation of pain, some scientists suggested.

Anise is a flowering plant of the species of Pimpinella anisum, genus Pimpinella, belongings to the family Apiaceae native to Egypt and the Mediterranean region, used in traditional herbal medicine as a fragrance in soaps, oils, and mouth fresheners and stomachic, antiseptic, anti-spasmodic,...

Chemical constituents
Anethole, D-pinene, I-phellandrene, Alpha-terpineol, Safrol, Methyl chavicol, Resin, Shikimic acid, etc.

According to the evaluation of Anise 3 hydroalcoholic extracts claimed to have a substantial effect in tracheal and ileal smooth muscles in 3 different concentrations of doses at 40% (HA(40%)), 60% (HA(60%)) or 80% (HA(80%)) researchers found that

* Application of all extracts at half maximum effect,50 microg/mL EC(50) inhibited acetylcholine-induced contraction.

* However, the extract HA(60%) at 5-50 microg/mL(EC(5-50)) concentration-dependently relaxed acetylcholine-pre-contracted tissues and HA(40%) and HA(80%) did not exert relaxant action in any volume out of indicated range.

These results suggested that the substantial effect in tracheal and ileal smooth muscles of Anise was associated with a dose-dependent manner.

In other words, only certain concentrations of Anise hydroalcoholic extract are effective in reduced muscles and vessels constriction in the induction of pain.

Injection of muscle constriction substances such as N(G)-nitro-L-arginine methyl ester (L-NAME, 100 microM), 1H-[1,2,4]oxadiazolo[4,3-a]quinoxalin-1-one (ODQ, 3 microM) and oxyhemoglobin (10 microM) were also inhibited by HA(60%) in doses concentration-dependent manner through the influence of muscle relaxation.

This inhibition suggested that Anise not only ameliorates the tracheal and ileal smooth muscle pain caused by natural spasmodic activities but also pain caused by the injection of muscle and vessel contraction substances.

Moreover, an additional treatment of nitric oxide synthase(L-NAME) in induced production of vascular smooth muscle cells and enhanced the maximal contraction induced by acetylcholine, administration of HA(60%) expressed a strong activity in modulated NO contractile response, stimulated by primary transmitter released by inhibitory nerves through cyclic GMP-dependent which is found to have an implication in the regulation of smooth muscle relaxation and other independent mechanisms

Further observation also indicated that injection of HA 60% showed an insignificant effect in calcium chloride(CaCl(2))-induced muscle contraction.

Dr. Tirapelli CR, the lead author at the Escola de Enfermagem de Ribeirão Preto. said, "The relaxant action displayed by Pimpinella anisum justifies its use in folk medicine as an antispasmodic agent".

In isolated tracheal chains of the guinea pig induced by 10 microM methacholine in non-incubated tissues (group 1) and incubated tissues with 1 microM propranolol and 1 microM chlorpheniramine (group 2), to investigate the relaxant effect of Pimpinella anisum aqueous and ethanol extracts and essential oil, researchers showed that injections Anise aqueous and ethanol extracts, essential oil and theophylline, a conventional medicine used to relax bronchial smooth muscle in COPD and asthma patients display a substantial activity in exhibited relaxant effects in compared to those of controls.

There was no significant difference between both Pimpinella anisum aqueous and ethanol extracts in promoted muscle relaxation but both exerted lower efficacy in compared to those of theophylline.

Interestingly, the applications of essential oil and 10 nM atropine, a muscle relaxant medicine, used as a nerve anticholinergic agent, blocked the neurotransmitter acetylcholine in the central and the peripheral nervous system is responsible for the involuntary movement of smooth muscles and reduced the muscle contraction caused by methacholine, a substance used to tighten the lung muscle and airway for test of asthma.

These results indicated a potential activity of bronchodilatory and anticholinergic effects of essential oil, aqueous, and ethanol extracts from Anise.

However, researchers also found that application of all doses expressed insignificant effects in inhibited histamine (H(1)), smooth muscles, vascular endothelial cells, the heart, and the central nervous system or stimulated beta(2)-adrenergic receptor in binding to epinephrine.

Dr. Boskabady MH, after taking into account other co-founders, said, "....showed that the relaxant effect of this plant is not due to an inhibitory effect of histamine (H(1)) or stimulatory effect of beta(2)-adrenergic receptors, but due to inhibitory effects on muscarinic receptors".

Collectively, the efficacy of Anise in elevated muscle and blood vessel pain was associated with a number of mechanisms, not invoked by the constriction caused by allergens or stimulants.

Taken together, Anise aqueous and ethanol extracts and essential oil may be used as adjunct herbal medicine in reducing the risk of diseases associated with spasmodic muscle contraction in the induction of muscle cramps accompanied by a sudden burst of pain caused by abnormal nerve stimulation or by abnormal activity of the muscles and vessels.

#Healthyfood #Beet Displays a Strong Anti-Angiogenesis Against #BladderCancer, Researchers Say

Kyle J. Norton

Intake of functional food beetroot regularly not only lowers the early occurrence but also provides a natural treatment of bladder cancer without inducing adverse effects.
Bladder cancer is a medical condition characterized by irregular cell growth and multiplied disorderly and uncontrollably in bladder tissues.

According to statistics, men are 4 times like to get bladder cancer compared to women. The condition is the 9th most common cancer worldwide.

Every year, approximately 400, 000 new cases are diagnosed. The 5-year of survival rate including all stages of bladder cancer is about 77% compared to 70% and 65% of 10 years and 15 years respectively.

The survival rate of early diagnosed with bladder cancer is at 98%.

The causes of the bladder are unknown. However, some researchers suggested that smoking and tobacco use is one major cause of bladder cancer.

Long-term exposure to chemicals and irritation of the lining of the bladder due to infection is associated with risk factors for the disease.

The most common symptoms of bladder cancer are blood in urine accompanied by painful urination,... and pelvic pain. You should check with your doctor right away if you experience some of these symptoms.

Dr. Martin C. S. Wong the lead scientist at the joint study conducted by The Chinese University of Hong Kong and other institutes said, "Many European countries experienced incidence rise. A substantial mortality reduction was observed in most countries, yet increases in mortality rates were observed in the Philippines and Iceland. These findings identified countries where more preventive actions are required"(4).

Beet, best known as the beetroot or garden beet and belonging to the amaranth family, is a perennial plant with leafy stems growing to 1–2 m tall.

According to the University of Urbino 'Carlo Bo', betaxanthins and betacyanins, isolated from beetroot exerted a significant anti-cancer effect in testing bladder cancer cell lines, through the expression of antioxidant and proapoptotic activities.

The anticancer property of beetroot also displayed a strong anti-angiogenesis by blocking the cancer cell in established new blood vessel signaling.

When used in combination with Vitexin-2-O-xyloside, an apigenin flavone glucoside, betaxanthins, and betacyanins also exerted a strong antiproliferative activity in bladder cancer cell lines, intrinsically and extrinsically in the expression of apoptosis.

The study also indicated that this combination when used conjunction in with conventional chemotherapy not only enhance the effectiveness of treatment in bladder cancer but also overcome the adverse effect of toxicity and multidrug resistance of cancer cells.

Furthermore, in another study conducted by the same university, Betacyanins (BC) purified from beetroot (Beta vulgaris var. Rubra L.) tested, alone or in combination with vitexin-2-O-xyloside (XVX) also isolated from the same vegetable enhanced the ability to reduce the proliferation rate in T24 bladder cancer cells, synergistically,. by inhibition of protein of gene in promoted cell survival and enhanced cancer apoptosis.

Taken together, a diet enriched with these bioactive molecules of beetroot could be used as a functional food in the prevention and treatment of human bladder cancer.

#Antioxidant #UrsolicAcid Inhibits the Axis Associated with The Risk of #NonSmallCellLung Cancer #NSCLC, According to Study

Kyle J. Norton

The lung is a vital organ of the human being, located near the backbone on either side of the heart with functions of inhaling oxygen from the air then transporting them to the bloodstream to nourish the body cells' needs and exhaling carbon dioxide from the bloodstream. Lung cancer is defined as a condition of the abnormal growth of the cells in the lung's tissue.

The most common form of primary lung cancer is derived from epithelial cells. In the Us, Lung cancer causes the death of 158,683 people, including 88,329 men and 70,354 women, according to the 2007 statistic.

Believe it or not, each year, more people die of lung cancer than of colon, breast, and prostate cancers combined.

Most people diagnosed with lung cancer are 65 or older, compared to a very small number of those younger than 45.

Non-small cell lung cancer is the most common type of lung cancer. It usually grows and spreads methodically and predictably.
The most common types of lung cancers include
* Squamous-cell carcinoma is a type of NSCLC often found in an outer area of the lung.

* Large-cell carcinoma is a type of NSCLC found in the center of the lung by an air tube.

* Adenocarcinoma is a type of NSCLC found in any part of the lung.

The 5 years of survival rate of never and ever smokers in patients with stage I is 92%, compared to 76%, in smokers.

The 5-year recurrence-free proportions (RFPs) for never and ever smokers were 89% compared to 80%, in smokers.

Ursolic acid is a phytochemical in the subclass of Triterpenoid, belongings to the group of Terpenes found abundantly in apples, basil, bilberries, cranberries, peppermint, lavender, oregano, hawthorn, prunes., etc.

In finding a potential phytochemical for the treatment of chronic diseases, researchers examined the effect of ursolic acid (UA) on the stemness of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) cells. According to the analysis of the NSCLC cells with paclitaxel resistance (A549-PR) which exhibited a remarkably stronger stemness than the parental A549 cells,* UA administration significantly reduced the stemness and paclitaxel resistance of A549-PR cells.

* UA inhibited the miR-149-5p/MyD88 signaling in the promotion of cancer cell resistance and was responsible for UA-mediated effects on the stemness of A549-PR cells.

After talking about other factors into account, researchers said, "UA could attenuate the stemness and chemoresistance of NSCLC cells through targeting miR-149-5p/MyD88 axis".

Taken altogether, Ursolic acid may be considered adjunct therapies in the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer, pending the confirmation of the larger sample size and multicenter human study.

Intake of tocopherols in the form of supplements should be taken with extreme care to prevent overdose acute liver toxicity.

Daily Intake of Plant Sterols of #Aloeveragel (Aloe sterol) Inhibit Skin Wrinkles by Increases the Skin Barrier Function, Moisture, and Elasticity, According to Studies

Kyle J. Norton

Skin aging is a natural process with skin expression of thinner, paler, and pigmented spots, including age spots, and liver spots.
Herbal plants have formed a fundamental source for conventional medicine in the discovery of single-ingredient medication, including aspirin (from willow bark), quinine (from cinchona bark), and morphine (from the opium poppy)..., particularly, in aging cosmetic products.

Numbers of herbal whole foods and their phytochemicals have been found in many anti-aging products and they are sold to the general public with or without clinical and nonclinical trials.

How many of these types of products are actually working, the numbers are vague, depending on who you talk to.

According to the statistic, 10 of most common herbal plants may be consumed or only be used as a topical application, including aloe vera, the first in the list, avocado, almond, henna, sandalwood, saffron, elder tree, neem, lavender, and amla. The list may be altered, depending on specialist preferences.

Some researchers suggested that honey best known for its properties of dressing for wounds and burns, may be also used as a cosmetic anti-aging substance as it exerts emollient, humectant, soothing, and hair conditioning effects, keeps the skin juvenile and retards wrinkle formation, regulates pH and prevents pathogen infections, through its antioxidant activities(1).

Cosmetic products are a very profitable business. The global anti-aging market is growing rapidly, the total sale may reach over $331.41 billion by 2021, according to Orbis Research

The causes of skin aging can be both intrinsic and extrinsic factors, Dr. Poljšak B and colleagues in the study of skin aging said, " It is well accepted that oxidative stress contributes significantly to extrinsic skin aging, although findings point towards reactive oxygen species (ROS) as one of the major causes of and single most important contributor; not only does ROS production increase with age, but human skin cells' ability to repair DNA damage steadily decreases over the years"(3).

Oxidative stress overexpression in the outer skin layer due to environmental stress and lifestyle and diet preferences may interfere with the normal growth of healthy skin, leading to the onset of skin aging.

These results are actually caused by the incapability of the body enzymes to function in the stimulated production of antioxidants to counter the levels of free radicals and their domino effects, causing alteration of the ratio of antioxidants and reactive oxygen species in the host body in the induction of skin aging.

Truly, intrinsic and extrinsic aging causes significant alter the skin structure and components, which subsequently can impair molecular characteristics and biochemical processes, as suggested by Dr. Fang JY, the lead author of a joint study led by Chang Gung University(2).

The list of preventable risk factors and common causes of skin aging can be interesting, including
* UV exposure
* Makeup wipes
* Dirty makeup brushes
*Poor diet
* Stress,
* Smoking
* Excessive alcohol intake
* Repetitive facial expressions
* Physical inactivity,......

Aloe Vera or Aloe Vera supplements may be used to delay skin aging degeneration, particularly, in the expression of wrinkles.

Aloe Vera is species of succulent plant in the genus Aloe, belongings to the Family Xanthorrhoeaceae, native to Sudan.

It is very popular and cultivated commercially, due to its health benefits.

Herbal medicine has been used for the treatment of many kinds of ailments, including wounds, burn healing, minor skin infections, sebaceous cysts, diabetes, elevated cholesterol, etc.

A wrinkle is a skin degenerative condition caused by the loss of the dermis and the subcutaneous fat layer underneath the skin, leading to a slight line or fold on the skin, particularly in the face.

According to the Food Ingredients & Technology Institute, daily oral intake of plant sterols of Aloe vera gel (Aloe sterol) significantly increases the skin barrier function, moisture, and elasticity in the skin, thus reducing risk the of skin wrinkles.

In a 12-week, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study of 48 apparently healthy men (age range: 30-59 years; average: 45 years), given oral Aloe sterol supplementation for 12 weeks, at the end of week 12 researchers found that the application shows a significant improvement of the skin elasticity index in comparison to the baseline value.

Dr. Tanaka M, the lead author said, "Aloe sterol ingestion increased skin elasticity in the photodamaged skin of men aged <46 years, and "No Aloe sterol intake-dependent harmful phenomenon was observed during the intake period".

Furthermore, in vitro, Aloe sterols increased the production of collagen and hyaluronic acid, a natural substance in skin response to connective, epithelial, and neural tissues. approximately two-fold and 1.5-fold, and promoted gene expression levels in human dermal fibroblasts.

In fact, daily application of Aloe sterol-containing Aloe vera gel powder (AVGP) significantly reduced facial wrinkles in women aged ≥40 years as well as stimulating collagen and hyaluronic acid production by human dermal fibroblasts.

Injection of Aloe Vera gel enhanced healthy skin by promoting elasticity (R2), net elasticity (R5), and biological elasticity (R7) scores and skin fatigue area F3, according to the Food Ingredients and Technology Institute 12 weeks study suggested.

Taken together, there is no doubt that oral and topical administration of aloe vera or aloe vera supplements may improve skin conditions caused by skin degeneration in all aspects, but the quality of amount intake should only be prescribed by related field specialists.
