Cytotoxicity is the process that induces cell death through toxins.

However, cytotoxicity induced by oxidative stress due to the imbalanced ratio of free radicals and antioxidant enzymes produced by the body can cause protein, lipid, and cellular damage that leads to chronic low-grade inflammatory diseases and cancer.
Stimulation of overexpression of free radicals and antioxidant production to induce cytotoxicity to the tumors can also cause cancer cell death without damage to nearby healthy cells.

Furthermore, BN999 induced apoptosis in colon cancer cells without affecting the healthy cells.
Based on the findings, researchers after taking into account co and confounder wrote, "these data suggest that BN999 has the potential to be used as cancer chemoprevention or therapeutic agent".
Taken altogether, green beans used combined with fermentation products of soybean, the black bean may be used as an adjunct therapy for the prevention of colon cancer, pending the confirmation of a larger sample size and multicenter human study.
