#Omega3 Fatty Acids Show a Statistically Significant Inhibitory Effect In Inducing the Death of #OvarianCancer Cells In Vitro

Kyle J. Norton

Cancer is a class of chronic disease caused by irregular cell growth in the tissue or specific organ in the body due to the alternation of cell DNA.

Most cases of cancer begin in the cells on the surface of the inner lining tissues of the organ or gland. At the early stage, most cancers are asymptomatic.

However, at the advanced stage, most cancers not can induce common symptoms such as gastrointestinal discomforts, unintended weight loss, loss of appetite, and fatigue but also localized symptoms depending on the affected tissues and organs.

The ovaries are oval-shaped ovum-producing reproductive organs formed as part of women's reproductive system that connects to the fallopian tubes and attaches to the outer layer of the uterus via the ovarian ligament. Usually, the left and right ovaries take a turn to release an egg every month.

In other words, the main functions of the ovary play a critical role in producing oocytes (eggs) for fertilization and reproductive growth hormones, estrogen, and progesterone.

According to the statistics, ovarian cancer is one of the fifth most common cancer, accounting for more deaths than any other cancer of the female reproductive system in the US.

The lifetime risk of getting ovarian cancer in a woman is about 1 in 78. compared to the lifetime of dying from ovarian cancer risk of 1 in 108.

The exact causes of ovarian cancer are not identified. However, epidemiological studies suggested that women who have endometriosis, genetic preposition such as BRCA1 and BRCA2 gene, and acquired genetic mutation such as the TP53 tumor suppressor gene are susceptible to the substantial risk of the development of the disease.

Besides sharing the common symptoms of other types of cancer, most ovarian cancer patients may experience symptoms of discomfort in the pelvic area, and changes in bowel habits, such as constipation. and a frequent need to urinate.

According to the statistics provided by the Canadian Cancer Society, in Canada, the 5-year net survival for ovarian cancer is 45%.

In other words, on average, 45% of women diagnosed with ovarian cancer will survive for at least 5 years.

Omega-3 fatty acids are phytochemicals in the class of lipids, found abundantly in deepsea fisk, dark-green leafy vegetables, grains, legumes, nuts, etc.

The three main components of Omega-3 fatty acids are alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA).

On finding a potential phytochemical for the treatment of cancer, researchers investigated the effect of OM-3FAs on epithelial ovarian cancer cell lines.

According to the results of 3 epithelial ovarian cancer cell lines (SKOV-3 [p53 null], TOV-21G [wt p53], and OVCAR-3 [mutant p53]) and one immortalized ovarian surface epithelial cell line (IOSE-29 [wt p53]) treated with OM-3FAs, OM-3FAs showed a statistically significant inhibitory effect in all four cell lines.

Furthermore, in the p53 null and mutant cell lines, SKOV-3 and OVCAR-3, the application of OM-3FAs showed inhibitory activity without inducing apoptosis and down-regulated expression of VEGF.

However, the apoptosis and/or VEGF down-regulation was strongly evident in the wt p53 cell lines TOV-21G and IOSE-29.

Collectively, researchers said, "under the influence of OM-3FAs, there are definitive growth-suppressive mechanisms at work and that the biologic effects of OM-3FAs may in part be mediated by the p53 status".

Taken together, Omega-3 fatty acids found abundantly in fish oil and plant oil may be considered a functional food for the treatment of ovarian cancer, pending the confirmation of the larger sample size and multicenter human study.

Intake of Omega-3 fatty acids in the form of supplements should be taken with extreme care to prevent overdose acute liver toxicity.

Greentea's Supplement #GTE Inhibits #InfectiousDiseases Caused by Bacterial and Viral Invasion, Researchers Suggest

Kyle J. Norton

Including green tea as a beverage in your diet may have a therapeutic and positive effect of reduced risk and treatment of bacterial and viral infectious diseases, some scientists suggested.

The results of the analysis were carried out by a number of institutes, including Yonsei University, and punished online medical literature.

Green tea is a precious drink that processed a number of health benefits known to almost everyone in Asia and the Western world.

According to the Review provided by VeriMed Healthcare Network. intake of green tea 2 to 4 cups per day by steeping covered for 5 to 10 minutes for leaves or flowers and 10 to 20 minutes for roots was associated to support immunity while providing antibacterial and antiviral activity.

Also, green tea (Camellia sinensis) extract of 250 to 500 mg daily, enhanced immune function due to its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and immune effects.

Moreover, tannin, green tea-derived polyphenols, and other related compounds, in the study to investigate the anti-viral effects of tannins on 12 different viruses including both enveloped viruses (influenza virus H3N2, H5N3, herpes simplex virus-1, vesicular stomatitis virus, Sendai virus, and Newcastle disease virus) and non-enveloped viruses (poliovirus, coxsackievirus, adenovirus, rotavirus, feline calicivirus, and mouse norovirus) researchers suggested that application of tannin reduced some viral infectivity in compared to persimmon (Diospyros kaki) with more than 4-log scale against all of the viruses tested.

More importantly, the differentiation of epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) effect against viral infections also indicated that EGCG injection in solution type and powder types over extended periods at various temperature conditions exerts a strong effect in inhibiting the tested human influenza A/H1N1 virus.

Green tea extract in the study also demonstrated potent viral inactivating activity for over a period of up to 2 months.

These results suggested that adding green tea supplement GTE may provide a greater than 4 log10 reduction of viral titers at a wide range of temperatures.

Dr. Lee YH, after taking into account other co and confounders said, "GTE-based antiviral agents could be formulated as a safe and environmentally friendly personal hygiene against viral infections".

The findings showed that green tea and green tea extract may be considered functional foods in reduced risk and treatment of infectious diseases caused by bacterial and viral invasion.

However, the intake of green tea supplementations should be taken with extreme care as acute liver toxicity has been reported in a number of cases.

#Antioxidant #Tocopherols Inhibit the UVB-Induced #SkinDamage, Researchers Show

Kyle J. Norton

Skin is the largest organ in the body with the function to protect the internal organs and tissue against foreign organisms' infection, leading organ and tissue injury and damage. It also is the third organ behind the liver and kidney to eliminate body toxins if the first 2 fail to cleanse them all.

Skin diseases are conditions of skin damage and are classified according to each pathogenic cause.

Most cases of skin disease are involved in allergens, irritants. However certain medical conditions such as irritable bowel disease, autoimmune diseases, and genetic preposition can also cause r skin diseases.

Recent studies suggested that a poor diet is also associated with the onset of skin diseases such as dermatological disease which may be linked to systemic disease, and dietary changes which may affect health outcomes, as in psoriasis.

Photodamage is a type of skin damage caused by long-term exposure to sunlight or tanning beds.

Photodamage skin is one most common forms of skin damage in the US, due to misunderstanding the benefits and adverse effects of light exposure.

Believe it or not, a quarter of lifetime sun exposure occurs before the end of the teenage years. Most cases of photo skin damage can also stimulate some unwanted skin conditions, including advanced aging or wrinkling, uneven skin, hyperpigmentation, telangiectasias, actinic keratoses liver, and age spots.

In severe cases, long-term photodamaged skin can also lead to skin cancer. More people in the US are diagnosed with skin cancer each year than all other cancers combined.
According to the statistic, 1 in 5 Americans will develop skin cancer by the age of 70.

Conventionally, most cases of early-stage and mild damage to the skin are treated by topical Levulan which removes scaly patches of actinic keratoses from your skin.

UVB-induced skin damage is a condition of skin damage caused by overexposure to UVB.

Tocopherols are phytochemicals of which many have vitamin E activity, belonging to the group of Lipids, found abundantly in butter, egg yolk, milk fat, some vegetable, and seed or nut oils, etc.

In finding a potential phytochemical for the treatment of skin diseases, researchers examined the protective capacity of alpha-tocopherol and beta-carotene during UVA and UVB irradiation of human melanocytes in vitro.

According to the primary cultures of normal human melanocytes irradiated by different wavelengths within the UV spectrum (UVA 6 J cm(-2), UVB 60 mJ cm(-2)),* UVA and UVB irradiation decreased the intracellular concentration of reduced glutathione associated with an antioxidant enzyme produced by the host and activated the transcription factor nuclear factor (NF)-kappaB, involved in the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines.

Furthermore, UVA and UVB irradiation increased the level of the p65 subunit in the activation of the potential of NF-kappa Band translocation to the nucleus.

Moreover, UVA and UVB caused apoptotic cell death as detected by nuclear fragmentation and caspase activation 24 h postirradiation.

Pretreatment with alpha-tocopherol prevented UVA- and UVB-induced glutathione loss, NF-kappaB translocation, and diminished apoptosis. However, beta-carotene did not show a similar protective capacity. Further, exposure to alpha-tocopherol by itself reduced the cell proliferation rate.

Based on the results, researchers said, "UVA and UVB irradiation affected the intracellular redox state and increased the frequency of apoptosis in human melanocytes in vitro. alpha-Tocopherol might be a useful substance in protecting melanocytes from UV-induced damage".

Taken together, tocopherols may be considered a supplement for the treatment of UVB-induced skin damage, pending the confirmation of the larger sample size and multicenter human study.

Intake of tocopherols in the form of supplements should be taken with extreme care to prevent overdose acute liver toxicity.

#Topical 2% #Greentea #Lotion is an Effective Treatment for Mild-to-Moderate Acne Vulgaris, Researchers Say

Kyle J. Norton

Extracts of green tea may have a therapeutic and positive effect in protection against the development of all forms of acne, some scientists suggested.
Green tea is a precious drink with a number of health benefits known to almost everyone in Asia and the Western world.

Acne is a condition of skin disease characterized by the occurrence of inflamed or infected sebaceous glands in the skin.

Serious types of acne such as nodules and cysts burst and damage nearby skin can lead to forming of scarring.

In the examined the effects of EGCG, the bioactive major polyphenol of green tea on human SEB-1 sebocytes with function in secreted sebum in patients with acne, researchers found that EGCG exerted a significant antioxidant activity in reduced sebum secretion by modulating the AMPK -SREBP-1 signaling pathway through AMPK expression.

SEB-1 sebocytes is a human sebocyte culture model used intensively in studying sebaceous gland activity and regulating and treating acne.

The AMPK pathways played an essential role in the regulation of sebum production and secretion of sebaceous glands.

Application of green tea EGCG also demonstrated a strong effect in reduced sebum in the induction of inflammation of sebaceous glands, by suppressing
* The NF-κB in the induced transcription of proinflammatory genes in the cellular response to stress and pathogens and

* The AP-1 pathway, a transcription factor with function in regulated gene expression of inflammation factors in response to a variety of stimuli, including bacterial and viral infections.

Furthermore, administration of EGCG was also found to facilitate a huge effect in targeting almost all the pathogenic features of acne through exhibiting significant cytotoxicity of SEB-1 sebocytes in the induction of viability of cutibacterium (propionibacterium) acnes.

Dr. Yoon JY, the lead author at the Seoul National University Hospital, after taking into account all findings said, " EGCG significantly improved acne in an 8-week randomized, split-face, clinical trial, and was well tolerated".

Amazingly, the randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial conducted from May 2012 through October 2013, of a total of 64 of 80 women, from 25 to 45 years of age with moderate-to-severe acne randomly assigned to receive either 1500 mg of decaffeinated GTE or placebo (cellulose) daily for 4 weeks, there were statistically significant differences in inflammatory lesion counts found on the nose, periodically and on the chin between the two groups but no significant differences of total lesion counts.

Within the group, green tea application displayed significant reductions in inflammatory lesions distributed on the forehead and cheek with no difference in total lesion counts.

Moreover, the green tea group also significantly reduced total cholesterol levels compared to the cellulose group.

However, due to the limitation of the small sample and short time period, researchers postulated that more research is required to determine whether a decaffeinated GTE standardized for EGCG content will provide clinical benefits in women with post-adolescent acne.

Additionally, in selected 59 studies eight met the inclusion criteria to evaluate the effect of tea polyphenols in reduced sebum production in the skin and for treatment of acne vulgaris by reviewing the literature published on PubMed, researchers suggested that the application of tea polyphenols topically may have a beneficial effect in reduced sebum secretion and in treatment of acne through inhibited lipid synthesis by the sebaceous glands.

Truly, according to the University of Miami, in the examination, 12 patients with mild-to-moderate acne vulgaris received green tea application twice daily for a period of 6 weeks, topical injection of 2% green tea lotion was found to be effective in treatment with statistically significant in mean total lesion count (TLC) decreased from 24 measured at the baseline to 10 after 6 weeks treatment, a reduction of 58.33%.

The mean severity index (SI) from all patients also decreased from 2.05 before treatment to 1.25 after 6 weeks of treatment, a decrease of 39.02%.

Dr. Elsaie ML, the lead scientist said, "Topical 2% green tea lotion is an effective, cost-effective treatment for mild-to-moderate acne vulgaris".

Taking all together, green tea and its bioactive major polyphenol may be used safely in reduced risk, progression, and treatment of all forms of acne pending a large sample size and multi-center clinical trial.

Oral administration of green tea extract should be taken with exceptional care as some cases of acute liver toxicity were reported liter naturally.

The Anti-#EnlargedProstate (#BenignProstaticHyperplasia(BPH)) #Wholefoods, According to Studies

Kyle J. Norton

Benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH) is a condition, characterized by an increase in the number of cells of the prostate gland, causing partial, or sometimes virtually complete obstruction of the urinary tract.
According to statistics, BPH commonly starts at the age of 30 and symptoms usually cannot be realized until the age of 50.

More than half of men between the age of 60-70 are experiencing symptoms of BPH and only 10% are required treatment.

The suggestion of BPH is associated with nutritional status and eating habits,.

According to the study, 30 male patients with clinically confirmed and treated disease of the prostatic gland, including 15 men (aged 51-75 years) with BPH and 15 men (aged 51-73 years) with PC, improper nutritional status lead to incorrect nutritional habits which fail to improve health status may be the cause of the development of some diet-dependent diseases, such as BPH and prostate cancer(a).

Most symptoms of an enlarged prostate are related to bladder function in urinary excretion, if you experience some of the symptoms of a weak stream of urine, difficulty starting urination, dribbling of urine, especially after urinating,..... and a sense of not fully emptying the bladder, you may develop enlarge prostate.

In a severe case, patients may also develop symptoms of nighttime frequent urination and a strong and sudden desire to urinate,.... and blood in the urine.

As the size of the prostate increase, the sex organ may press on the urethra which not only causes urinary problems but also can cause urinary pain (dysuria or pain with urination).

The most common causes of an enlarged prostate are prostate cancer and prostate infection (prostatitis). However, compared to a diet of men in the Far East, the risk of the enlarged prostate of men who follow the Western diet is substantially higher. These results suggested that aging, unhealthy diet, and lifestyle are associated with an increased risk of enlarged prostate.

Some researchers suggested that a proper diet with vegetables, and fruits containing zinc may reduce the risk of the disease from starting(b)(c).

Epidemiological studies indicated that intake of vegetables and fruits accompanied with a healthy lifestyle may be associated with prevented risk and treatment of enlarged prostate(d)(e)(f).

The efficacy may be due to the enhancement of the antioxidant effect on the overproduction of prostate cells(g)(h).

Types of vegetables that curd Enlarged Prostate (Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia(BPH))
1. Tomato
Tomato is red, edible fruit, genus Solanum, belongings to the family Solanaceae, native to South America. Because of its health benefits, the tomato is grown worldwide for commercial purposes and often in the greenhouse.

According to the study by the Institute of Biological Chemistry and Nutrition, lycopene found in tomatoes inhibited the progression and reduced symptoms of BPH.(1)

But, intake of lycopene in the study at Universität Bonn showed no protection from the development of PCA(5), but consumption of tomato products, and lycopene ingestion might also be effective in PCA therapy(2).

Profluss®), the composition of Serenoa repens, selenium, and lycopene, displayed significant anti-inflammatory activities in reducing the risk of BPH by reducing extension and grading of fluorosis(3) and relieving the BHP symptoms(4).

2. Onion
The onion is a plant in the genus Allium, belongings to the family Alliaceae, a close relation of garlic.

The veggie is often called the "king of vegetables" because of its pungent taste and found in a large number of recipes and preparations of the root also spanning almost the totality of the world's cultures.

Depending on the variety, an onion can be sharp, spicy, tangy, pungent, mild, or sweet.

Rich sources of flavonoids in onion may be effective in treating benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH)(6).

According to the Istituto di Ricerche Farmacologiche Mario Negri, intake of onion showed an inverse association with BPH(7).

3. Whole Grain
Wholegrain is cereal grains containing cereal germ, endosperm, and bran.

The study by Beijing Medical University, conducted in 1993-1995 in Beijing of BPH in 413 rural and 419 urban males over 40 years of age, showed an increased BPH incidence with daily intake of total calories, fat, and animal protein, and decreased daily intake of vegetables and whole grain, the sources of phytoestrogens(8).

The study of the University of Illinois in Chicago indicated an inverse association with dietary intake of plant foods, including whole grain cereals(9).

Other researchers suggested that BPH is associated with elevations in plasma estradiol/testosterone ratio, insulin, and insulin-like growth factor-I and daily aerobic exercise can reduce all of these plasma factors, particularly when combined with a low-fat, high-fiber diet consisting of whole grains, fruits, and vegetables(10).

4. Organic soybean
Soybean is genus Glycine, in the family Fabaceae, native to Southeast Asia

One of the legumes contains twice as much protein per acre as any other major vegetable or grain crop.

Now, it is grown worldwide with a suitable climate for commercial profit and healthy food for people in Asia.

In a rat model of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), the Application of Anthocyanin, a major chemical constituent in the pigment and potent antioxidant of black soybean, inhibit the volume and suppresses the proliferation of the prostate(11) and

The study by Central South University, also indicated that soybean isoflavone inhibits prostate hyperplasia through increased expressions of nitric oxide and nitric oxide synthase in rats(12).

Moreover, the soybean Isoflavone also reduced the risk of prostate hyperplasia through increased acid phosphatase and PAP in a dose-dependent manner in rats, according to the Central South University, in Shanghai(13).

5. Cruciferous vegetables
Cruciferous vegetables are a group of vegetables belonging to the family Brassicaceae, including cauliflower, cabbage, cress, bok choy, broccoli, etc.

Sulforaphane (SFN) an isothiocyanate derived from cruciferous vegetables in the study of its effect in normal (PrEC), benign hyperplasia (BPH1), and cancerous (LnCap and PC3) prostate epithelial cells induced cell cycle arrest and apoptosis in BPH1, through its activities in effects on cell proliferation, HDAC activity and downstream targets in normal and cancer cells(14).

Ethyl isothiocyanate (PEITC), found in cruciferous vegetables, in the testing on the androgen-influenced growth of the prostate such as benign hyperplasia, regulated the hormone-dependent growth of the prostate, through negated the testosterone-mediated enhancement of the androgen receptor (AR), via down-regulating transcription factor Sp1 expression and Sp1 binding complex formation(15).

6. Squash
Squash is the genus Cucurbita, belongings to the family Cucurbitaceae, and native to Mexico and Central America.

In North America, squash is divided into summer squash or winter squash, depending on the maturity of the squash when harvested, an immature fruit called summer squash and mature fruit called winter squash.

ProstateEZE Max, a herbal formula containing Cucurbita pepo, Epilobium parviflorum, lycopene, Pygeum africanum, and Serenoa repens in the study of benign prostate hypertrophy (BPH) demonstrated a positive effect in the improvement of physical symptoms of BPH after 3 months of intake(16).

However, the Minneapolis VA Center for Chronic Diseases Outcomes Research in the reviews of 6 phytotherapeutic agents (Serenoa repens, Hypoxis rooperi, Secale cereale, Pygeum africanum, Urtica dioica, Curcubita pepo)from 44 studies, showed no convincing evidence supporting the use of Curcubita pepo alone for treatment of BPH(17).

7. Spinach
Spinach is an edible flowering plant in the genus Spinacia, belongings to the family of Amaranthaceae and native to central and southwestern Asia.

The green leaf vegetable is considered a healthy plant containing vitamins and minerals.

The study of the effect of 3 anti-oxidants [a water-soluble natural anti-oxidant. NAO (200 mg/kg). found in spinach leaves; epigallocatechin-3 gallate, EGCG (200 mg/kg), a major green tea polyphenol; and N-acetylcysteine, NAC (125 mg/kg)] in TRAMP in wild-type male mice suggested the formula improved NAO in reduced hyperplasia at weeks 9 and 13(18).

In a case-control study of prostatic cancer which consisted of 100 patients matched for hospital, age (+/- 3 yr), and hospital admission date (+/- 3 months) to patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH) and hospital controls, conducted by the Kyoto University, a researcher found that frequent intake of spinach (RR = 1.96: 1.01-7.73), a typical green and yellow vegetable, was associated with reduced risk BPH and prostate cancer(19).

8. Mushrooms

Mushroom, a standard name for white button mushroom is the fleshy, spore-bearing fruiting body of a fungus produced above ground on soil or on its food source, belonging to the genus A. Muscaria in the family Amanitaceae.

In the examination of methanol extracts of 19 edible and medicinal mushrooms on 5alpha-reductase activity, scientists indicated that all 19 mushrooms exert inhibited effects of the testosterone-induced growth of the ventral prostate in castrated rats(20).

But the study conducted by Gunma University Graduate School of Medicine, Maebashi suggested oral administration of an extract of mushroom Phellinus linteus induced prostate enlargement(21).

Therefore using mushrooms in treating BPH should be taken with care only with the approval of the specialist.

#GreenTea Inhibits the Elimination of Nephron-Cardiovascular Toxins and and Deteriorated the Eenal Function in Vivos, According to the Studies

Kyle J. Norton

Green tea showed to inhibit or exhibited kidney function in toxin elimination in deteriorated renal function in patients with chronic renal disease, studies proposed.
Renal Disease is an impaired function in toxin elimination for more than a specific time as a result of kidney damage or injury.

Green tea, a precious drink processes a number of health benefits known to almost everyone in Asia and the Western world. However, as yin in nature herbal medicine, or food, long-term injection of large amounts may obstruct the balance of yin-yang, inducing "excessive yin syndrome" or "yang vacuity syndrome" including weakened immunity and painful case of GERD,... according to traditional Chinese medicine's Yin-Yang theory. Adding a slice of ginger will be helpful to solve the problem.

In mice fed with a powdered diet containing green tea polyphenolic extract (0.1%) starting 3 days prior to CsA treatment (25 mg/kg, i.g. daily for 3 weeks).showed a decreased renal nuclear DNA-encoded oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS) protein ATP synthase-β (AS-β)by 42%, mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA)-encoded OXPHOS protein NADH dehydrogenase-3 (ND3) involved oxidize nutrients for energy conversion by 87%.

Flavanols (polyphenols) are rich phytochemicals isolated from green tea, particularly in the expression in the form of the most bioactive flavanol EGCG.

Oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS) protein ATP synthase-β (AS-β) plays a key role in energy production and regulated the generation of free radicals, and apoptosis through the respiratory chain.

Mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA)-encoded OXPHOS protein NADH dehydrogenase-3 (ND3) in reduced risk of gene mutation through oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS).

Dr. Rehman H, the lead author said," Green tea polyphenols markedly attenuated CsA-induced renal injury and improved renal function. Together, these results demonstrate that green tea polyphenols attenuate CsA-induced kidney injury, at least in part, through the stimulation of MB".
In support of the efficacy of green tea for the treatment of renal disease, the study of F40 rats was randomly divided into 4 groups. Group 1 acted as control; group 2 received contrast medium (intravenous iodixanol, 10 mL/kg, as a single dose); group 3 received contrast medium and then green tea extract for 3 days (10 mg/kg/d, intraperitoneal); and group 4 first received green tea and then contrast medium, researchers showed that group treated with green tea had significantly higher overall scores than the control group.

The treatment group also expressed a significant improvement in the progression of renal degeneration caused by nephrotoxicity of contrast media.

Unfortunately, according to the joint study led by the China Medical University, inhibited the elimination of indoxyl sulfate (IS) and p-cresyl sulfate (PCS), highly protein-bound nephron-cardiovascular toxins in CRF rats.

Catechin is another major chemical constituent isolated from Green tea (GT) and a popular beverage in China.

Indoxyl sulfate(IS), a circulating uremic toxin has been found to be associated with the development of glomerular sclerosis and interstitial fibrosis.

P-Cresyl sulfate (pCS) is also a uremic toxin generated by intestinal bacteria
which has an implication to worsen outcomes of patients with chronic kidney disease and increased cardiovascular burden.

Furthermore, green tea injection of catechin. in the experiment mice also showed significantly increased levels of serum creatinine (Cr) and blood urea nitrogen (BUN), an indication of further kidney damage after ingestion of green tea catechin.

Dr. Peng YH, the lead author said, "GT inhibited the elimination of nephron-cardiovascular toxins such as IS and PCS, and deteriorated the renal function in CRF rats".

Taking together, the conflict results of green tea in the expression of chronic renal disease may be due to study design, the group sample, the subject selection doses administration,........., therefore patients with renal disease should consult with specialists before taking.

#Isothiocyanate Found CruciferousVegetables Inhibits the Metabolic Activation of Cancer, According to Studies

Kyle J. Norton

Cruciferous vegetables rich of phytochemicals may be the potential foods that dissolve chemical carcinogens' toxic effects before they can induce the onset of cancers, some scientists suggested
Cancers are a class of medical conditions characterized by cells growing disorderly and uncontrollably in any tissue and organs in the body. In most cases, at the later stage, cancerous cells can travel a distance away to infect other healthy cells and tissue.

Chemical carcinogens are types of chemical compounds that can cause cancer, mostly man-made.

According to the Universidade Federal de Ouro Preto, sulforaphane (SFN), the isothiocyanate (ITC) group of organosulfur compounds found in cruciferous vegetable-expressed chemopreventive properties involved detoxification processes of chemical carcinogens.

Certain chemicals, such as benzene, beryllium, asbestos, vinyl chloride, and arsenic are known to induce human carcinogens.

This is tough to believe that exposure to chemical carcinogens in the outdoors, at home, and at work is associated to increase the risk of getting cancer.

According to the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry, "More than 100,000 chemicals are used by Americans, and about 1,000 new chemicals are introduced each year" and "These chemicals are found in everyday items, such as foods, personal products, packaging, prescription drugs, and household and lawn care products"(4).

The agency also suggested that some chemical carcinogens can be harmful, not all contact with chemicals is dangerous to health(4).

The risk of developing cancer is depended totally on how much, how long, how often, and when you are exposed to these chemicals.

It is true, long-term contact with chemical carcinogens can lead to DNA alteration, the main cause of early onset of cancers(4).

Some researchers suggested that asbestos, nickel, cadmium, radon, vinyl chloride, benzene, and benzene may act alone or with other carcinogens to increase the prevalent risk(4)

Occasional exposure to chemicals in adults may be harmful to health, but inducing gene change is impossible.

However, when you are exposed is important because a small exposure in the womb, for example, maybe more serious than a small exposure as an adult.

Dr. de Figueiredo SM, the lead author said, " In a dose-dependent manner, ITC inhibits the viability of human cancer cells, modifies epigenetic events that occur in cancer cells, and present anti-inflammatory effect acting during the initial of uncontrolled cell proliferation." "Chemical carcinogens are types of cancer caused by chemical toxins in the induction of cellular and chromosome change, DNA damage,... ".

The chemoprotective activity of the vegetable is the result of the significant expression of the antioxidants in exhibited cell cycle arrest and apoptosis in cancer cells as well as acting as the post-initiation stages of carcinogenesis, as a 'suppressing' agent involving the ability to modulate the Nrf2 in reduced damage from oxidative damage.

In fact, besides being used as a chemopreventive agent against chemical carcinogenesis, sulforaphane (SFN), the major chemical constituent of cruciferous vegetables also inhibited the drug-metabolizing enzymes that cause activation/neutralization of carcinogenic metabolites and protected normal healthy cells from environmental toxin-induced of cancers.

Furthermore, the phytochemical exhibited the molecular mechanisms responsible for the overall chemopreventive effects on selective cytotoxicity, in reduced oxidate stress, and free radicals produced by lipid peroxidation in cells.

In the study of tobacco smoke carcinogens-induced chemical tumors, cruciferous vegetable consumption has been shown to be inversely associated with the development of cancer.

In animal experiments. the chemopreventive effects of isothiocyanates, another compound found in cruciferous vegetables, inhibited the metabolic activation of carcinogens by cytochrome P450s, enzymes with function in metabolized potentially toxic compounds.

Taking together, the intake of cruciferous vegetables has potential health benefits against environmental toxins in cancer development, but due to the small size of the sample, further studies are necessary to address its viability.
