Food Therapy: Fennel In Attenuated Risk, Progression and Treatment of Intestinal Dysbiosis

Fennel may have a potential and therapeutic effect in reduced risk, progression and treatment of gastrointestinal dysbiosis, some scientists suggested.

Dysbiosis is most commonly gastrointestinal tract disorder, caused by imbalanced microbiota in the gastrointestinal tract particularly in the small intestines.

In the investigation of the effect of some herbal essential oil in risk of dysbiosis, researchers found that essential oil isolated from fennel exerts lesser inhibited function in reduced concentration of the growth of potential pathogens in compared to isolation of herbal Carum carvi, Lavandula angustifolia, Trachyspermum copticum, and Citrus aurantium var. amara without inducing any adverse effects.

Further analysis also suggested that ingestion of fennel essential oil although decrease levels of bad microbacteria concentration, they do not contribute to a substantially detrimental impact on beneficial members of the microflora.

The above differentiation was supported by the joint study conducted by the Scientific Board Member of Islamic Azad University, on 180 day-old broiler chicks to test the effect of composition of Trigonella foenum-graecum (Fenugreek) and Foeniculum vulgare (Fenne) on antimicrobial activity of gut micro flora traits.

Application of the composition to samples chick randomly assigned to groups fed with control diet (without additives), diet accompanied with 2 mentioned mixed powder plants (0.5% of total diet), diet with TF mixed powder plant and diet with FV mixed powder plant, at the end of the experiment, demonstrated a significant improvement of balance of the gastrointestinal microflora, through expression of increased average daily feed intake (ADFI), average daily gain (ADG).

Additionally, the efficacy of the composition also decreased the concentration of number of G- bacteria (NGB), number of Coli form bacteria in compared to the sample taken before the experiment.

In deed, Trigonella foenum-graecum (Fenugreek) and Foeniculum vulgare (Fennel) treated group displayed an enormous anti antimicrobial activity of gut in compared to the control group.

In  tested porcine gut, anethole, the bioactive compound found in essential oil isolated from fennel displayed a substantial  anti microbial activity against commensal and pathogenic bacteria, through inhibited the chloride secretion with function in major determinant of mucosal hydration throughout the gastrointestinal tract, induced by 5-HT metabolic signaling of gut microbes  and theophylline adverse effect in induction of gut disorder.

At dose of 0.5 mmol/L, anethole exerted a protective effect against micro imbalance in initiated gastrointestinal disorder by inhibition of excessive chloride secretion.

Taken together, the information finding suggested that fennel and its bioactive compound anethole may be considered as a function herb for reduced risk, progression and combined with standard medicine for treatment of  intestinal dysbiosis, without inducing intolerant side effects.

Herbal Therapy: Green tea and its Bioactive Pophenol EGCG in Attenuated Oxidative Stress in Facilitated Fibromyalgia

Green tea may have a therapeutic and positive effect in reduced risk, progression and treatment of
fibromyalgia caused by oxidative stress, some scientists suggested.

Green tea, a precious drink processes numbers of health benefit known to almost everyone in Asia and Western world.

Fibromyalgia (FM) is a chronic condition characterized by muscle and soft tissue pain affecting over 10 million (3.6% of the population) people in US alone.

According to the study in review of literature of the frequency and pattern of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) of 289(95%)  patients who completed the survey (263 women and 26 men) between February 2003 and July 2003, green tea was recommended at 24% for treatment of  fibromyalgia (FM).

In other words, in herbal medicine, green tea is considered to have certain effect in reduced symptoms and treatment for such syndrome.

Some evidences in medical literature suggested that over production of ROS in induction of oxidative stress may have a strong implication in the pathophysiology of FM.

In the investigation of the effect of green tea epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) in protection of oxidative stress to cardiac cells cultured in the conditions of control, 400 μM H2O2 exposure for 30 min with and/or without 10 to 20 μM EGCG pre-treatment, researchers at the National Tsing Hua University found that treatment of green tea in H(2)O(2) group demonstrated a significant reduction of levels of reactive oxygen species through its antioxidant and its ability in induced production of natural antioxidant presented in the cardiac cells in compared to over expression of ROS in H2O2 treatment group without injection of EGCG.

Also, application of green tea reduced levels of cytosolic Ca2+ overload in the H(2)O(2) group in induced oxidative stress in experiment cell apoptosis through improved antioxidant protein.

Interestingly, EGCG inhibited the ameliorated H(2)O(2) expression in increased glycolytic protein in response to the degree of oxidative stress in the culture cells and α-enolase, a key glycolytic enzyme on the surface of several cell types in contribution of impaired glycolytic activity through oxidative and nitrative stress.

Additionally, green tea EGCG also decreased levels of peroxiredoxin-4, an antioxidant with function in protection against oxidative stress by detoxifying peroxides and mitochondrial proteins with function of redox reactions of oxidative phosphorylation.

After taking into account of other con founders, researchers suggested that ingestion of green tea EGCG inhibited the damage of H(2)O(2) group through inhibition of the downstream signalling for Akt in expression glucose oxidation and cell apoptosis in cellular processes, and loss of phosphorylation of GSK-3β and cyclin D1 depletion in facilitated oxidative stress.

These result postulated that green tea EGCG exerted the similar inhibited effect of those of GSK-3β inhibitor (SB 216763) in significantly improved H(2)O(2)-induced suppression on cell viability, phosphorylation of pAkt (S473) and pGSK-3β (S9), and level of cyclin D1 in cells.

The above differentiation was supported by the study conducted by the Universidad de Sevilla, in evaluated some evidences of green tea in reduced oxidative stress in facilitated pathophysiology of FM in initiated signs and symptoms of muscular alteration and mitochondrial dysfunction.

Truly, in primary rat model, administration of green tea EGCG in different concentrations for 24 h before being exposed to hydrogen peroxide (H(2)O(2)) for 2 h to induce oxidative stress, researchers found that pretreatment with 10, 25, and 50 µM EGCG significantly inhibited the expression of H2O2 in reduced substantial decrease in cell viability.

Further analysis also showed that green EGCG application dose of 50 µM ameliorated the proportion of propidium iodide (PI)-positive cells increased in cultures caused by H(2)O(2) injection, thus reducing H(2)O(2) in induced cell death.

Taken together, green tea and its bioactive polyphenols EGCG may be considered as a functional food in reduced risk, progression and treatment of fibromyalgia caused by over expression of oxidative stress. However, in take of green tea supplement should be taken with extreme care as acute liver toxicity has been reported in numbers of medical literature.

Herbal Therapy: Herbal Anise in Ameliorated Risk and Treatment of Functional Dyspepsia

Anise may have a potential and substantial effect in reduced risk and treatment of functional dyspepsia (FD), some scientists suggested.

Anise
 is a flowering plant ofthe species of Pimpinella anisum, genus Pimpinella, belonging to the family Apiaceae native to to Egypt and the Mediterranean region,  used in traditional herbal medicine as fragrance in soaps, oils, and mouth fresheners and stomachic, anti-septic, anti-spasmodic, ....


Chemical comstituents
Anethole, D-pinene, I-phellandrene, Alpha-terpineol, Safrol, Methyl chavicol, Resin, Shikimic acid, etc.

Functional dyspepsia (FD) is a chronic disorder characterized by sensation and movement (peristalsis) in the upper digestive tract.

In the study of total of 180 patients attending the gastroenterology clinic, 107 ones with the diagnosis of postprandial distress syndrome according to Rome III criteria, randomly assigned to anise group of 47 patients received anise powders, 3 g after each meal (3 times/day) for 4 weeks and placebo group of 60 patients received placebo powders (cornstarch), 3 g after each meal (3 times/day) for 4 weeks researchers at the joint study lead by the Iran University of Medical Sciences indicated that
Anise treatment scored a significant improvement of all domains of SF-36(The Short Form (36) Health Survey) at week 12 in compared to placebo group, although both groups scored a similar at the baseline.

More specifically, at week 12, the mean of physical component score was 141 in placebo group and 251 in Anise treatment group in compared to the base line scores of 159 and 167, respectively and the mean mental component scores at weeks 12 was 135 in placebo group and 233 in anise group in compared to 172 and 165 respectively.

Domain of SF-36  completed by the patients includes vitality, physical functioning, bodily pain, general health perceptions, physical role functioning, emotional role functioning, social role functioning, and mental health,  used widely in managed care organizations and  medicare for routine monitoring and assessment of care outcomes in adult patients. The lower the score is an indication of more disability in compared the higher the score of less disability.

The strong improvement of physical and mental scores in the Anise group in compared to the base line and placebo may be associated to Anise in contributed to increase quality of life in patients of functional dyspepsia, through reduction of symptoms intensity.

Further differentiation, in a total of 107 patients attending the gastroenterology clinic, aged 18-65 years, diagnosed with PDS according to ROME III criteria, randomly assigned to group of 47 patients receive either received anise powders, 3 g after each meal (3 times/day) or placebo involved 60 patients and received placebo powders (corn starch), 3 g after each meal (3 times/day) for 4 weeks.  researcher found that anise group expressed a significant effect in reduced all symptoms at weeks 4 and 12, but retching, nausea and vomiting in compared to control group and at the baseline.

The examine of the mean total scores of FD severity scale in anise group also expressed improvement at weeks 2, 4 and 12 in compared to insignificantly different of the two groups before the intervention.

Anise intervention also demonstrated a decreased significantly of mean severity scores of epigastric fullness, epigastric discomfort, epigastric burning/pain, early satiety, bloating, belching, and loss of appetite in compared to epigastric pain, epigastric fullness and belching increased significantly in the placebo group after intervention.

Moreover, Anise group also exerted a strong improvement of  mean of pain score in compared to placebo, probably as a result of its anti spasmolytic feature.

However, after taking into account of other co founders such as factors in causes of FD and  anise effects on broad spectrum of pharmacological effects on GI, nervous, muscular and immune systems, researchers concluded that there are no surprise that Anise application showed a significant improvement of symptoms in patients with FD.

The information findings may be astonished, but the study also found to induce certain limitation, including limited the external validity of the results with a small sample size and shorted follow up periods.

Taking together, herbal Anise not only improve quality of life in patients with  functional dyspepsia but may also be considered as adjunct therapy in combined with conventional standard medicine for reduced symptoms and treatment of functional dyspepsia.

Alternative Therapy: Yoga Intervention in Reduced Risk and Symptoms of Pregnant Lumbopelvic Pain

Yoga therapy may be used as secondary integrated form of exercise for reduced symptoms, risk and treatment of lumbopelvic pain in pregnant women, a Brazil university study suggested.

Lumbopelvic pain is condition of pain in the lumbar and/or sacro-iliac area and pelvic girdle, the most common diagnosis among women in pregnancy.

Approximately, over half of all pregnant women and one-quarter of postpartum women are reported to experience lumbopelvic pain, according to statistic.
Yoga, the ancient technique for harmonized external and internal body well beings, through breath control, meditation, bodily movement and gesture..... has been best known for people in Western world and some parts in Asia due to health benefits reported by various respectable institutes' research and supported by health advocates.

In a randomized controlled trial with 60 pregnant women (age range, 14-40 years) reported lumbopelvic pain at 12 to 32 weeks of gestation conducted from June 2009 to June 2011, divided in to yoga and postural orientation group, researchers at the Universidade Estadual de Campinas found that after 10 weeks, the median pain score is lower in the median pain score yoga group in compared to postural orientation group and pregnant women in the yoga group also experience intensified pain reduction gradually during 10 yoga sessions.

Truly, yoga mindfulness in induced stress reduction relaxed the central nervous system in response to stress hormone production through activated hormone prostaglandins PE2  and initiated nitric oxide synthase in over expression of nitrous oxide in induced lumbopelvic pain through promoted muscle constriction in the infected region.

Further more, yoga posture practice improved the flexibility of motion atterns of flexure and rotation of the trunk and the trunk muscles also have a significant effect in sensitive motor pathway and decreased changes in the sensory system in driving sensitive muscles and heighten pain through influencing the neuro system in coordinate with information feed back of related body position and movement from active and passive system from sensors nerve ending in the muscle, tenders, joint capsules and fascia, thus ameliorating over expression of motor pathway in transmitting sensitive information in induction of lumbopelvic pain. 

The relaxation and meditation of yoga also connected and balanced the mind and body, by bringing back the presence of unfavorable experience of previous pain and fear avoidance beliefs..... while letting them go or dealing them in a positive ways, thus improving the emotional and cognitive health.

These results also reduced other medical conditions such as arthritis, migraine and often pelvic pain associated in pain sensitivity, a phenomenon known as pregnancy-induced analgesia, the inability to feel pain.

Moreover, yoga relaxation and meditation technique restored the natural consciousness of pre motherhood with love and care of the offspring and increased sense of closeness to the baby also enhanced automatically the circulatory function in moving more blood to the lumbopelvic region, thus reducing pain caused by vessels and muscles constriction and  promoting positive emotion and cognitive function..

The above differentiation were support by the study in examine the database of published studies from January 2004 to February 2014 with 10 randomized controlled trials satisfied the criteria and guideline were selected conducted by the joint research lead by University of Gothenburg.

Researchers after adjusting to other co founders, suggested that
*Yoga intervention expressed a lower incidences of prenatal disorders (p ≤ 0.05), and small gestational age (p < 0.05), lower levels of pain and stress

Dr. Gutke A, the led author said," (Although, there were no specific adverse events were reported for any intervention, but limited evidences), caution should prevail in choosing other interventions for pregnancy-related lumbopelvic pain".

Taking altogether, Yoga intervention may be considered as integrated form of therapy in reduced risk of pregnant lumbopelvic pain  and combined with standard treatment in lower symptoms in these group of women.

Long term imbalance of  intestinal microbiota composition may associate to the prevelence of chronic constipation as increased pathogenic microorganisms may reduce intestinal motility and secretory functions by changing the amount of available physiologically active substances and the metabolic environment of the gut in the breakdown of food products into absorbable nutrients.

The above differentiation of fennel composition effect was supported by illustration of the study of  formula Smooth move, a herbal tea used in some nursing care for residents with chronic constipation.

According to Dr. Bub S and colleagues in a total of 86 nursing home residents with chronic constipation randomly assigned to receive Smooth Move (n = 42) or a placebo (n = 44), once daily, in addition to standard treatment for chronic constipation for 28 days, oral administration of the formula showed a statistically significant increase in the number of bowel movements in compared to placebo group.

More precisely, participants treated with Smooth Move in compared to non treatment group experienced an average of 4.14 more bowel movements during the 28-day study period versus the 28-day pre-study period.

Interestingly, in the investigation of the laxative efficacy of composition of Pimpinella anisum L., Foeniculum vulgare Miller, Sambucus nigra L., and Cassia augustifolia used in Brazil for treatment of chronic constipation, researchers at the institution of conducted a randomized, crossover, placebo-controlled, single-blinded trial included 20 patients presenting with chronic constipation according to the criteria of the American Association of Gastroenterology, found that patients received the formula composition exert a strong improvement of bowel function in compared to control.

However, the application fails to improved quality of life in participants in reduced some symptoms associated to chronic constipation, excepted for a small reduction in serum potassium levels during the active treatment.

8 Science Base Delicious Vegetables in Attenuated Risk, Progression and Treatment of of Breast Cancer

The prevalence of breast cancer has been acknowledged in the scientific community worldwide.

Breast cancer widespread in women in Southeast Asian as a result of over 2 decades of economic prosperity caused by unhealthy diet is a major concern.

The findings for effective treatments are ongoing with some successes, but discovery of effective ingredients prevention and treatment of breast cancer with little or no side effects have proven difficultly.

According to statistic, the risk of getting invasive breast cancer during life time of a woman is 1/8.

Detection of tumorigenesis through self observation are still the best approach to discover breast cancer in early stage.

But reduction of the mortality at late stage discovered breast cancer has not been accounted, even with extensively modern technology in the field of diagnosis and insurance protection in Western world, needless to say of those countries with poor health care system.

Suggestions of healthy diet with plenty vegetables and fruits(1)(2)(3) accompanied with change of life style(4)(5)(6) may be the only choice for women in reducing risk of the disease.

In fact, certain vegetables(7)(8), fruits(9)(10) and bioactive phytochemicals found in foods(23)(24) and herbs(33)(34) have been found to induce apoptosis and anti proliferation of breast cancer cells by blocking the energy sources to the tumor site and suppressing the promoted cancers genes.

1. Cruciferous vegetables
Cruciferous vegetables are the group of vegetables belongings to the family Brassicaceae, including cauliflower, cabbage, cress, bok choy, broccoli etc.

Isothiocyanate (ITC), one of the major chemical constistuent found in cruciferous vegetables has been studied extensively over the past three decades with evidence against breast cancer in preclinical models.

 Benzyl isothiocyanate, the derivative of isothiocyanate displayed  an significant efficacy in inhibited carcinogen metabolism and signaling pathways relevant to tumor progression and invasion(11) against MDA-MB-231(breast cancer dell line), human breast cancer xenografts(mutation tissues)(12) by suppressing X-linked inhibitor of apoptosis (XIAP) protein expression of cancer cell line MCF-7 and reduced levels of mutations of p53(antigens) protein level(13).

Loss of normal function of p53 gene was associated with over 50% of cancer patients and mutation p53 gene may have an oncogenic potential.

In Her-2 positive (a most aggressive case of breast cancer), indole-3-carbinol, a naturally occurring compound found in cruciferous vegetables, used combination with paclitaxel (a mitotic inhibitor) synergistically inhibited growth of Her2/neu human breast cancer cells by cancer cells cycle arrest in the G2(pre-mitotic phase) and M(nuclear division) phase and induced apoptosis/necrosis(14).

I3C used alone also inhibited Her-2breast cancer cell growth in a dose dependent manner as the compound promoted production of Bax(an apoptosis promoter) and decreased expression of Bcl-2(an apoptosis inhibitor) and, thereby, increased the ratio of Bax to Bcl-2 in favoring apoptosis(15).

2. Tomatoes
Tomato is a red, edible fruit, genus Solanum, belongings to family Solanaceae, native to South America. Because of its health benefits, tomato is grown world wide for commercial purpose and often in green house.

Lycopene, a major carotenoid component of tomato has been known in research community with the property to attenuate the risk of breast cancer.

 In a time and doses dependent, the compound showed an anti-proliferative activity against ER(estrogen receptor)/PR(progesterone receptor) positive MCF-7, HER2-positive SK-BR-3 and triple-negative MDA-MB-468 cell lines by arresting cell cycle at the G0 /G1phase(interphase together - chromosomes replicate in preparation for cell division) at physiologically achievable concentrations(range) found in human plasma(16)

Lycopene also Inhibited the ER-positive MCF-7 through cell cycle progression, ER-negative MDA-MB-231 cells through G1 phase cell cycle-arrest(17).

Application of lycopene not only restored the GSTP1 expression but also at 2 microM, once per week for 2 weeks induced demethylation of RARbeta2 (tumor suppressor gene) and the HIN-1(a cell growth inhibitor)) genes in the non cancer MCF10A fibrocystic breast cells(18).

3. Figs
N-hexane insoluble fraction (HIF) found in figs may be lesser known for its efficacy in breast cancer cell suppressive activity.

The combination of HIF and doxorubicin exerted a greater inhibition on cell growth in (Human ductal breast epithelial tumor cell line) T47D cells and increased the incidence of cells undergoing apoptosis, in compared to doxorubicin alone(19).

The soluble frarction (Ethyl acetate soluble fraction (EASF)) in fig leave was also found to enhance the cytotoxic effect of doxorubicin by changing the inhibition of cell cycle G(2)/M to G(1) phase(20).

 And Acetone extract of Ficus religosa leaf (FAE) demonstrated an irreversible inhibition of breast cancer cell growth with moderate toxicity by stimulating the loss of mitochondrial membrane potential in multiple breast cancer cell lines and accelerated cell death through the photosensitizing effect(21).

4. Garlic
Garlic is a natural superfood healer for its antibiotic antiviral, antifungal, anticoagulant and antiseptic properties.

Diallyl trisulfide(DAS), a derived organosulfur compounds (OSCs) suppressed the a ratio of viable cells in the culture of (Human breast cancer cell line) MCF-7 and MCF-12a (a non-tumorigenic epithelial cell line) by decreasing the percent of cancer cells in phase G(2)/M and induced apoptotic cell death through stimulated function of Bax protein and p53(cellular tumor antigen) protein expression(22).

Application of DAS also enhanced the effect of eicosapentaenoic acid, a breast cancer suppressor, and decreased the effect of linoleic acid, a breast cancer enhancer and reduced the side effects caused by anti-cancer agents(23).

Protein fraction from garlic was effective in inhibiting tumor growth more efficiently than garlic extract in enhancing the CD8(+) T-cell infiltration into the tumor site(24).

5. Spinach
Spinach, an edible flowering plant in the genus Spinacia, belongings to the family of Amaranthaceae, is considered as a healthy plant containing vary vitamins and minerals, native to central and southwestern Asia.

Consuming spinach was found to exhibit a significantly protective effect on breast cancer among premenopausal women(25).

Eating carrots or spinach more than twice weekly, compared with no intake, was associated with an odds ratio of 0.56 but did not distinguish among several potential explanations for the protective association observed between intake of carrots and spinach and risk of breast cancer.(26).

 It is said that included supplementation of A. gangeticus aqueous extract of red spinach at 10% reduced progression of in breast cancer in rat model(27).

6. Kelp
Kelps are large seaweeds (algae) growth under shallow in underwater of oceans belongings to the class Phaeophyceae in the order Laminariales, used for food in many cultures.

Laminaria, a brown kelp seaweed containing antibiotic substance, 1-3 beta glucan, was effective in activated host-mediated immune response in prevented  the initiation of breast cancer(28).

In the comparison of  Dohevanil, researchers found that both vanilloids, precursor of capsaicin and dohevanil inhibited the growth of DNA fragmentation in MCF-7 cells(34).

8. Carrot
Carrot is root vegetable with orange color normally, a sub spices of Daucus carota, belongings to the family Apiaceae, native to Asian and Europe.

Herbal therapy: Green Tea In Alleviated Symptoms, Risk, Progression and Treatment of Polymyalgia Arthritis (Rheumatica)

Green tea may have a therapeutic and positive effect in reduced symptoms,  risk, progression and treatment of  polymyalgia arthritis (rheumatica), some scientists suggested.

Green tea is a precious drink processed numbers of health benefit and known to almost everyone in Asia and Western world.

Polymyalgia rheumatica is an inflammatory disease with muscle pain and stiffness, especially in the shoulders, affecting mostly older adults beyond age of 65.

In animal study of inflammatory diseases induced by injection of LPS, application of green tea bioactive polyphenols EGCG improved antioxidant status of the host and decreased production of inflammatory factors, including PMR through its antioxidant properties.

Further analysis suggested that application of EGCG reduced symptoms of inflammation such as pain, tension, stiffness, swelling of the infectious site without affecting the function of immune system in protection against micro organisms invasion through inhibiting over-expression of tumor necrosis alpha(TNF-α) involved in systematic inflammatory response to acute phase of infection.

The bioactive compound also inhibited reactive oxygen species (ROS) in stimulated production of inflammatory cytokines through free radicals chain reactions in facilitated inflammation and precipitated skeletal muscle dysfunction and degradation by infiltrating immune cells to induce direct injury to muscle tissue or activating catabolic signaling.

In fact, over production of ROS increased continuously expression of mitochondria, NAD(P)H oxidases, xanthine oxidoreductases, and nitric oxide synthases caused imbalance of the free radicals and antioxidant ratio, in orchestrated oxidative stress to muscle cells..

Further evaluation suggested that green tea EGCG reduced expression of interleukin 6 (IL-6), with function in response to infections and tissue injuries.

Long term over production of IL 6 due to the duo factors as a pro and anti inflammatory protein may increase high-level concentrations of serum amyloid A (SAA), which has been found to induce serious complication of several chronic inflammatory diseases through generated and deposited amyloid A amyloidosis into the extracellular space in an abnormal, insoluble, fibrillar form,

Moreover, EGCG also attenuated levels of nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB) in regulated innate and adaptive immune functions and serves as a pivotal mediator of inflammatory responses through activation of tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) in promoted muscle wasting, leading to muscle atrophy in induction of pain and stiffness and swelling.

Importantly, application of green tea EGCG enhanced the natural antioxidant enzymes in the host such as glutathione, an antioxidant enzyme produced naturally found in every cell and tissue of the body.

These actions together with antioxidant initiated by injection of green tea EGCG stimulated cell regeneration, preserved the muscle cells and tissues and prevented muscle tension to precipitate polymyalgia arthritis.

Deficiency of glutathione levels was found to associate to the early development of Polymyalgia Arthritis in facilitated symptoms of pain, stiffness, achiness, fatigue and fever.

Differentiation of the above was supported by conventional medicine corticosteroids, a powerful anti-inflammatory drugs with function to target pro inflammation cytokines in relieved stiffness and pain in patients with polymyalgia arthritis.

Taken together, Green tea and its bioactive polyphenols EGCG may ne considered as a function food for alleviating symptoms, risk, progression and treatment of polymyalgia arthritis (rheumatica). However, ingestion green tea supplements should be taken with extreme care as acute liver toxicity has been reported in several medical literature.
