Green tea may have a particular and special effect in ameliorated auto immunity in precipitation of allergic diseases, some scientists opinionated.

Further analysis also found that the bioactive compound binds to 67 kDa laminin receptor to attenuate allergic expression induced by mast cell  by suppressing the myosin light chain phosphorylation in regulated immune response to osinophil (a type of disease-fighting white blood cell) migration in the tissue, a characteristic feature of allergic diseases and ERK1/2 phosphorylation signalling by modulation of inflammatory cytokines expression.

A double-blind clinical study of the green tea effect on subjects exposed to Japanese cedar pollinosis, administration of  Benifuuki green tea containing O-methylated catechins showed a significantly relieved allergic symptoms induced by pollen such as nose blowing, eye itching in compared with the placebo group without effecting the normal immune responses.

More interestingly, in mouse bone marrow-derived mast cells activated by antigens, bioactive compound epigallocatechin-3-O-(3-O-methyl) gallate (EGCG3″Me) in combination with ginger extract also demonstrated a strongly anti-delay-type allergic effect by suppressing cytokines secretion of tumor necrosis factor (TNF-α), a cell signaling protein (cytokine) in response to systemic inflammation in the acute phase infection.and macrophage Inflammatory Proteins(MIP-1α), a chemokine involved host response to invading bacteria and virus.

In compared to the dose of 5.1 times higher in EGCG, injection of 8.5 mg of EGCG3″Me exhibited a much stronger anti allergic activity than 43.5 mg of EGCG, observed by the area under curve AUC (area under the drug concentration time curve; min μg/ml) of 6.72 ± 2.87 in EGCG and 8.48 ± 2.54 in EGCG3″Me.

Taken together, green tea with abundantly bioactive Epigallocatechin-3-O-(3-O-methyl) gallate (EGCG3"Me) may be considered as a functional food for protection against auto immune response stimulated by unharmful allergens.

Alternative Therapy: Yoga Exercise in Reduced Symptoms Intensity and Frequency in Patients with Bronchial Asthma

People with  bronchial asthma participated in yoga class are likely to experience lower symptoms intensity and frequency, some researchers suggested.

Yoga, the ancient practice for harmonized external and internal body well beings, through breath control, meditation, bodily movement and gesture..... has been best known for people in Western world and some parts in Asia due to health benefits reported by various respectable institutes' research and supported by health advocates.

According to the study to evaluate a one month in-patient naturopathy and yoga programme effects for patients with asthma with retrospective data of 159 bronchial asthma patients, yoga participants showed a significant increase in the Forced Vital Capacity and Forced Expiratory Volume from the date of admission up to 6th month post Bonferroni correction, observed by  the paired sample t test results.

In compared to the beginning of the invention, yoga group also expressed significantly increase from admission till the date of discharge according to the Maximum voluntary ventilation assay

 Furthermore, the Peak Expiratory Flow Rate also significantly increased from admission till the 36th month of follow-up, observed through post Bonferroni correction.

According to the review published in the March, 2013 issue of the “Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine.” the Yoga postures (asanas) and breathing (pranayama) showed to improve lung capacity in healthy adults averaging 90 minutes per day over a 10-week period in  yoga participation.

In the concerns of yoga class may have any effect in enhanced quality of life in related to mental state of patients with bronchial asthma, researchers conducted a randomized trial with 120 non-smoking male and female patients of asthma in the age group of 17-50 years randomly assigned into two groups i.e. Group A (Yoga group, with patients practiced yoga breathing exercises for 8 weeks) and Group B (control group), after assessing asthma Quality of Life Questionnaire (AQLQ) and diary record returned from patients, and indicated that yoga group expressed a statistically and gradually significant improvement in "symptoms", "activities" and "environmental" domains of AQLQ during  the periods, specially in  reduction in daily number and severity of attacks in compared to control.

The finding evidences showed that yoga breathing exercises used adjunctively with standard pharmacological treatment significantly improved quality of life and decreased symptoms frequency in patients with bronchial asthma.

Iron chelation therapy is a primary and standard treatment for patients with iron overload.

Green tea, is a precious drink processes numbers of health benefit known to almost everyone in Asia and Western world.

Parkinson's disease (PD) is a progressive neurodegenerative disease, causing severe depletion of glutamatergic and dopaminergic inputs in the striatum.

Investigation of the green tea EGCG effect in risk and progression of PD has been found to associate to many mechanisms involved numbers of aspects.

Application of metal chelation was found to ameliorated the expression of ROS in induction of oxidative stress through a chain of reaction and precipitation of aggregation of alpha-synuclein and beta-amyloid peptides deposit in the brain, main leading causes to the onset of  PD.

In iron abnormality PD subjects,  oxidopamine, also known as 6-hydroxydopamine or 2,4,5-trihydroxyphenethylamine(6-OHD), a neurotoxic synthetic organic compound was found to disrupt iron metabolism, leading to over expression of the iron induction of dyshomeostasis cause of iron toxicity and oxidative damage in dopaminergic neurons.

Green tea major polyphenol, (−)-epigallocatechin-3-gallate used in metal chelation, ameliorated iron dependent free radicals located in the subcellular compartments and cellular membranes, through the effect in inhibited iron input and exhibited iron output in brain areas where it preferentially accumulates in neurodegenerative diseases, particularly Parkinsons' disease.

Further analysis of the neurotoxin 6-OHDA causes of iron unstable equilibrium, green extract GECG administration improved the function of hepcidin, a liver-derived hormone in regulated iron dyshomeostasis and gene expression of the iron metabolism through expressions of iron regulatory proteins (IRP1 and IRP2)  in regulated the RNA level,  between the transcription and the translation of the gene in expression of the iron homeostasis. 

Indeed, In the differentiation of neurotoxin 6-OHDA induced iron dyshomeostasis has shown to increase oxidative stress in damage to neuron cells, green extract GECG effects demonstrated a significant inhibition of free radical and iron free radical expression in the cellular membranes through the antioxidant activities and anti-inflammatory system and expression of nuclear factor-like 2(Nrf2) in stimulated production of antioxidant in protection against oxidative damage during injury and inflammation; heme oxygenase-1(HO-1) in increased production of superoxide dismutase and catalase against ROS and peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPARγ) in regulated production of pro and anti inflammatory cytokines and mytokines..

By reducing the over expression of oxidative damage to neuron cells through regulation of iron related factors as mentioned above, iron chelator EGCG can counteract these adverse effects and prevent onset of PD.

Further study of the mechanism on disruption of iron metabolism by 6-OHDA in PD cell line N27, discovered that application of the iron chelator EGCG also disrupts the iron dyshomeostasis in N27 cells (dopaminergic neural cell line) induced by 6-OHDA through regulating iron transporters and regulators expression, such as DMT1 with function in mediation of the entry of dietary iron into these mucosal cells and TfR, a carrier protein for transferrin with function in import iron into the cell and regulated response to intracellular iron concentration and hepcidin, a central regulator in maintain iron homeostasis.

Dysregulation of hepcidin production results in a variety of iron disorders.

Additionally, in 6-OHDA induced neurotoxicity to cause PD, administration of green tea GECG also reduced the intracellular iron retention by decreasing the iron importers and increasing iron exporters, through regulation of the function of iron-regulated transporters, such as ferroportin.

Interestingly, there was a report suggested that intervention of 3 cups of green tea daily for 3 months improved the antioxidant status and reduced oxidative damage in early PD patients without affecting their iron status.

The findings evidences revealed that green tea bioactive polyphenol, (−)-epigallocatechin-3-gallate may be considered as iron chelator in regulation of PD progression.

Differentiation of the effect of green tea in attenuated risk and treatment of lifestyle related diseases was found to associate to some mechanisms involving numbers of aspect, particularly, in gene facilitation.

In animal model, green tea administration inhibited risk and symptoms and progression of chronic inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and multiple sclerosis, through regulation of tumor necrosis factor (TNF-alpha) gene in expression of  inflammatory cytokines in promoted systematic inflammation in the acute phase of infection caused by damage and injure tissues, in modulated the activation of  NF-kappaB signalling pathway related to cellular response in induction of anti and pro inflammatory stimulation and transcription factor complex (AP-1) in initiation of inflammation against foreign invasion.

The inhibition of inflammatory cytokines expression reduced symptoms of pain, reddish skin, swelling without limiting the protective effect of the immune system to prevent damage tissues against invasion of foreign substances.

Further analysis of chronic inflammatory diseases, in transgenic mice model with human idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis suggested that injection of green tea in 4 months demonstrated a significant activity in ameliorated over expression of TNF-alpha in stimulated production of pro inflammatory cytokines and interleukin (IL)-6 in initiated inflammatory expression in cellular defense in response to infections and tissue injuries in the lung.

In life style related diseases of cardiovascular disease, intake of green tea beverage or extract expressed a significant reductions in serum total cholesterol and LDL-cholesterol concentrations, without effecting the levels of HDL-cholesterol.

Additionally, in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus, green tea extract catechin injection improved fasting glucose levels without affecting the hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) level, which is an predictor of type 2 diabetes onset  and  green tea consumed 5 or more cups per day was associated to a strongly and positively inverse association to risk of type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Food Therapy: Chick (Garden) Peas Inhibited Platelet Aggregation in Ameliorated Risk of Cardiovascular Disease

Methanolic extract of Chick (Garden) Peas may have a potential effect in decreased platelet aggregation and inhibited thrombus formation, thus improving blood circulation for prevention of cardiovascular disease, some scientists suggested.

Garbanzo beans also known as chickpea is an edible legume of genus Cicer and the family Fabaceae, high in protein and minerals. It is one of the earliest cultivated vegetable, native to Middle East.

Inflammation is a natural process of immune defense against infection caused by injure through removal of  injurious agents, necrosed cells and tissues.

Evaluation of pea family effects in  reduced platelet aggregation for prevention of cardiovascular disease have been found to associated to numbers of mechanisms involved many aspects.

Methanolic extract isolated from garden pea  and Desi chickpea demonstrated an inhibited arachidonic acid (AA) expression in induction of  platelet aggregation (IC50 = 35 microg/mL)

Arachidonic acid, an omega-6 unsaturated fatty acid with function in growth and repair of muscle  tissue is also important as an proinflammatory and immunosupportive substance in response to actute and chronic tissue damage.

Several reports have suggested that arachidonic acid induced expression of platelet aggregation by mediators thromboxane A2 and/or prostaglandin H2 (PGH2) in signalling expression of thromboxane A2/prostaglandin H2 (TXA2/PGH2) receptor occupation.

Thromboxane A2 (TXA2) is a type of thromboxane with function in stimulation of production of new platelets to induce platelet aggregation.

Prostaglandin H2 is a type of prostaglandin acted as mediators involved in physiological processes, including platelet aggregation, muscle movement and inflammation.

Further differentiated the other effects of methanolic extract isolated from garden pea  and Desi chickpea on platelet aggregation, showed that the extract isolated from garden pea  displayed a positive inhibition of platelet activating factor (PAF)(IC50 = 38 microg/mL) in a dose dependent fashion, in induction of platelet aggregation, but this action was not found in Desi chickpea extract.

Platelet-activating factor (PAF), is a lipid mediator with function in exhibited expression of platelet aggregation, immune response and inflammation. 

Interestingly, the methanolic extract isolated from Kabuli chickpea also expressed a strong platelet aggregation  effect without activation of either arachidonic acid (AA) or latelet-activating factor (PAF) expressions.

The findings suggested that there must exist other mechanisms in reduced platelet aggregation, other than inhibition of arachidonic acid (AA) and platelet-activating factor (PAF) activities  by the testing extract isolated from the above members of pea family.

Further differentiation showed that methanolic extract isolated from the pea family also inhibited platelet aggregation through endothelial cells COX-2 lining the interior surface of blood vessels and lymphatic vessels in production of platelet PGE2 precipitated by inflammatory cytokine expression during the acute phase of tissue damage.

COX-2 is an enzyme with function in response for inflammation and pain.

Prostaglandin E2 (PGE-2) is also released by blood vessel walls with function in response to infection or inflammation.

Indeed, the extract displayed a strongly inhibited effect at dose of concentration 20 microg/mL in lower the levels of synthesis of PGE2  by 92%,  87% and 65% in extract of Garden pea, Desi chickpea and Kabuli chickpea, respectively, according to COX-2 essay. 

Taken together, peas family including Garden pea, Desi chickpea and Kabuli chickpea could be useful as natural anti-thrombotic and anti-inflammatory whole foods. People who are in high risk of CVD due to platelet effect may want to add a portion of chickpeas into their daily diet.

In the study to test the feasibility and efficacy of a shared yoga (SY) program for sleep disturbance in older adults with osteoarthritis (OA) from ages 50 to 7) with insomnia related to OA by randomizing to 12 weeks of SY (n = 9) or individual yoga (IY; n = 7), in compared to Pre-post testing result, all participants showed statistically significant improvements on the Insomnia Severity Index and Patient-Reported Outcomes Measurement System sleep disturbance scale and yoga overall feasibility of the program, both in the shared and individual formats.

After taking account of other risk factors, researchers said," efficacy data suggest that yoga program may improve sleep, but given the study limitations".

Green tea may have a therapeutic and positive effect in reduced risk and treatment of atherosclerosis, some scientists suggested.

Further analysis also found that the polyphenol extract decreased infection of atherosclerotic lesion areas in the anatomic dilations of the ascending aorta through decreased expression of C-reactive protein, in regulated the acute phase of infection and monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP-1/CCL2) chemokines in regulated migration and infiltration of monocytes/macrophages.of immune system in induced production of cytokines to counter foreign substances.

Additional observation, also indicated that green tea bioactive epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) not also improved LDL/very LDL cholesterol but also ameliorated ROS activity via antioxidant in induced low-density lipoprotein (LDL) oxidation, a leading indication of plague accumulation.

Application of combined (-)-Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) +chitosan (CS) and aspartic acid (PAA). demonstrated a significant effect in reduced risk and treatment of atherosclerosis through ameliorated lipid deposition in tested animals.
In compared to the effects of conventional medicine simvastatin with approximately successful treatment rate of lipid deposition of 15.6%, injection of (-)-Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) +chitosan (CS) and aspartic acid (PAA).exhibited over all treatment rate of 16.9%.

The accounted evidences suggesting that EGCG, as a natural substance, may have a substantial and therapeutic effect in attentuated risk and treatment of atherosclerosis through anti-inflammatory and antioxidative activities..
