Burdock is plant in the group of biennial thistles, genus Arctium, belonging to the family Asteraceae, native to the Euro. It has been used over thousand of years in Chins and other traditional herbal medicine as a diuretic, diaphoretic, and a blood purifying agent and to treat wounds and infections stomach ulcers and other digestive problems.
Hepatoprotective effects is defined as a protection of liver against damage caused by vary sources, including virus.
The ingredients
It contains carbonated water, sugar,, manloid colourings, phosphoric acid, citric acid and a
good amount of dietary fiber, calcium, potassium, and amino acids and
chemicals compounds of guaianolide, arctinone, arctinal, methyl
arctate,11-tridecadien-3,5,7,9-tetraynde-hydrocostus
lactone,dehydrodihydrocostus lactone, 3-octenoic acid, 3-hexenoic acid
etc.
The benefits
Actium lappa Linne (burdock) treatments
of liver damage induced by carbon tetrachloride (CCl(4)) in rat could
be alleviated with 1 and 7 days, as the herb exerted its
hepatoprotective effects attribute to its antioxidative activity, which
decreases the oxidative stress of hepatocytes, or to other unknown
protective mechanism(s). The root of Arctium
lappa Linne (A. lappa) in other study also protect the liver cells from
CCl4 or acetaminophen-induced liver damages through its its
antioxidative effect on hepatocytes, hence eliminating the deleterious effects of toxic metabolites from CCl4 or acetaminophen.
The Side effects
1. Overdose can be poisoning and may lead to symptoms of acute poisoning include phenothiazines, tricyclic antidepressants, and antihistamines.
2. It may cause dermatitis and allergic/inflammatory responses to
certain people with contact as a result of lactones which the plant
produces.
3. Do not use burdock if you are pregnant or breast feeding.

Aloe vera gel (AVG) and Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOs)
Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome is defined as
endocrinologic diseases caused by undeveloped follicles clumping on the
ovaries that interferes with the function of the normal ovaries as
resulting of enlarged ovaries, leading to hormone imbalance( excessive
androgen), resulting in male pattern
hair development, acne, irregular period or absence of period, weight
gain and effecting fertility. It effects over 5% of women population or 1
in 20 women.
Aloe Vera is species of succulent plant in the genus Aloe, belonging to the Family Xanthorrhoeaceae, native to Sudan. It has become very popular for commercial cultivation due to its health benefits. Aloe vera has been used in herbal medicine in treating many kinds of disease, including wound, burn healing, minor skin infections, sebaceous cysts, diabetes, and elevated of cholesterol, etc. It is also one of many popular herb studied in scientific ways with some conflicted results.
The effects
In the view if certain side effects of several classes of pharmacological agents have been used to manage dyslipidemia in women with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOs), some researchers have been studied through the altyernative nmedicine with an aim to find a better treatment with less or no side effects. Aloe vera gel (AVG), has found to be effective in reduction in plasma triglyceride and LDL cholesterol levels, with an increase in HDL cholesterol, reversion of abnormal estrous cyclicity, glucose intolerance, and lipid metabolizing enzyme activities. Others in the study of the same but in comparison with Letrozole, showed Aloe vera restored the estrus cyclicity, glucose sensitivity, and steroidogenic activity. Treatment combined with Letrozole prevented the development of the PCO phenotype. These results showed a positive anti-hyperlipidemic effects and may be used in managing PCOS associated metabolic complication and restoring the ovarian steroid status.
The Side effects 1. High amount of vitamin K may reduce the effectiveness of anticogulation medicine
2. Causing additive effects for women who are under estrogen replacement therapy or taking the oral contraceptive pill.
3. It may cause stomach upset and diarrhea
4. The herb may induce lupus erythematosu due to its chemical constituent L-canavanine.

Berberine, is a phytochemical found in the group of protoberberine group of isoquinoline alkaloids, in many herbal plants including Oregon grape, barberry, turmeric, goldenseal, etc.
The effects
Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is characterized of metabolic disorder associated with insulin resistance (IR). Herbal medicine has been studied throughout research community to find a little or no effect treatment with some successes. Berberine, a chemical constituent found in many herbs, has exerted its health benefits by improving improved some of the metabolic and hormonal derangements in a group of Eighty-nine subjects with PCOS and IR treated Chinese women with PCOS. When compare to metformin (MET), the phytochemical Berberine showed decrease in waist circumference and waist-to-hip ratio, fasting plasma glucose, fasting insulin, homeostasis model assessment for IR, area under the curve of insulin, cholesterol and triglycerides as well as increase in high-density lipoprotein cholesterol and sex hormone-binding. Other in the study of the same but in combination with Letrozole, showed the effectiveness of berberine in lowering blood sugar levels in db/db mice and exerting anti-dyslipidemia in human. These results indicated that berberine may be considered a potential source in treating Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOs).
The side effects
1. Bernerine may cause toxicity and reduced fetus weight
2. Do use berberine if you are pregnant or breastfeeding women and newborns.

Serum potassium and chronic kidney disease
Dietary Minerals are the group of minerals essential for our body to sustain normal functions and physical health.
In General, potassium is a very essential mineral to the human body for maintaining to build proteins and muscle, break down carbohydrates, maintain normal body growth and normal heart electricity, etc.
Chronic kidney disease is a progression of degeneration of kidney function over a prolonged period of time, most often in years.
The benefits
Kidney is an important organ to keep the serum potassium (K+) level in range for normal physiology within the human body. Late stage chronic kidney disease patients are associated with high levels of serum potassium. Other in the study of the incidence of hyperkalemia in dogs with CKD, found hyperkalemia to be associated with commercial renal diets but with potassium-reduced diets hyperkalemia can be corrected.

Herbal Calendula (Calendula officinalis) and skin
Calendula is also known as pot marigold, a annual or perennial herbaceous
plants of about 12–20 species of genus Calendula, belonging to the
family Asteraceae, native to Southern Europe. It has been used in herbal
medicine as spasmolytic, spasmogenic, inflammatory effects and to treat
abdominal cramps, wound healing, skin diseases, colitis, constipation,
etc.
Ingredients
Beside major chemical constituents of triterpenoids, flavonoids, coumarines, quinones, volatile oil, carotenoids and amino acids, the herb also contains loliolide (calendin), calendulin and n-paraffins
The benefits
Herbal Calendula (Calendula officinalis), is one of many popular herb used as medicine in Europe, China, India and many place in the world. Essential oil of Calendula flowers has found effectively used as topical cream to protect against sun radiation damage as well as maintaining the natural pigments of skin. Others in the study of the same with cutaneous application of the essential oil, showed a most effective result as creams containing 4% and 5% of Calendula essential oil caused a significant decrease oxidative stress found in malonyldialdehyde level, whereas the levels of antioxidants (catalaseEzyme, glutathione, superoxide dismutase, ascorbic acid) and the total protein level were significantly increased after 1 month of daily irradiation and treatment. Calendula extract used in the study on the mechanical parameters of the skin by using the cutometer, showed newly formulated topical cream of Calendula officinalis extract exerted its protection of skin in significant improvements in hydration and firmness. Even with the result of the studies, some researchers suggested that many data are needed such as current concentration of use data, ultraviolet (UV) absorption data, photosensitization data, dermal reproductive/developmental toxicity data; inhalation toxicity data, etc before the essential oil of Herbal Calendula can be used as ingredients of cosmetic products.
