* Surprise You? Learn How Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Differentiate and Treat Bladder Cancer

Kyle J. Norton

Bladder cancer occurs when cells mass in the inner lining of the bladder form a malignant growth, or tumor. In other words, bladder cancer is a medical condition caused by irregular growth of cells in bladder tissue.

The seriousness of the condition is depending on the penetration of cancerous cells.. At the early stage, the cancerous only are found on the surface of the bladder.

However, at the later stage, the uncontrollable cells may travel a distance away  from the bladder to infect other healthy cells and tissue of other organs through bloods and fluids circulation, such as the prostate gland in men or uterus in women.

Symptoms(1)
1. Traditional Chinese medicine indicated that urinary with blood is one of the first symptom discovered by bladder cancer patient. Sometimes, red blood cells can be viewed by naked eyes but most of the times, it requires a blood test.
2. Back pain
3. Fluid retention in the kidney
4. Fever
5. Other symptoms are similar to the conventional medicine.
Most patient with early bladder cancer my experience blood in urine with no pain at all.

Risk Factors(1)

1. Occupation
Occupation required to contact with chemical toxins daily and over a prolonged period of time have a high risk of bladder cancer. Most workers do not experience any symptom of bladder cancer until later in their life. We are taking about the period over 30 years.

2. Smoking
Cigarette contains certain harmful chemicals which can cause cancer. In China, due to social culture difference, the risk of male and female with bladder cancer is 41%, 30% accordingly.

3. Age
The risk of bladder cancer increases with age. The older you are, the higher the risk.

4. Sex
The risk of bladder cancer of male is 4 time higher than women

5. Race
Certain race are high risk of bladder cancer

6. Chemicals tryptophan
By products of tryptophan such as 3-hydroxy-2-amino-acetophenone and 3-Hydroxyindazole
can promote the risk of bladder cancer due to reaction of β-glucuronidases.

7. Diet
Diet high in saturated fat increases the risk of bladder cancer.

8. Family history
Bladder cancer risk increase if a member of the direct family have bladder cancer.

9. Infection
Prolonged infection or frequent infection increase the risk of bladder cancer.

10. Medication
Certain types of medication can promote the forming of bladder cancer.

Causes of Bladder cancer in TCM

The traditional Chinese medicine defined bladder cancer is a health condition caused by
A. Heart Fire Shifting Downwards to the small intestine
Heart Fire is an excess problem, due to elevating yang or yang rise is out of control. Since heart is associated with the fire, excessive yang leading to fire and heat.

If heart fire with extra heat move downward to the small intestine, it affects the bladder in functioning of urinary secretion, causing blood in urine.

In other words, according to the article by TCM Shen Nong Shi,  bloody urine often indicates that the bladder meridian is over-heated, that can be a result of different internal disharmonies. Mental stress, improper diet or chronic health conditions bring about fire or heat pathogensby different organs, the pathogens irritate the urinary tract through the bladder meridian, and cause bleeding(2).

If left untreated, it can cause inflammation and bleeding, leading to bladder cancer.

1. Symptoms include(4)

*Green Tea and It's Bioactive Epigallocatechin 3-gallate (EGCG) That Target Arthritis With No Side Effects, Scientists Suggested

By Kyle J. Norton, Master of Nutrition

Green tea may have a therapeutic and positive effect in reduced risk and progression and treatment of arthritis, some scientists suggested.

Arthritis is a class of chronic condition characterized by painful inflammation and stiffness of the joints, usually seen in adults over the age of 65.

Others symptoms of arthritis also include redness, warmth, swelling, and decreased motion of the affected joints.

Rheumatoid Arthritis in severe cases can also effect the bone density, cause skin nodules, eye,...... and lung inflammation and scarring.

As of today. there are no cure of the disease. Depending to types of arthritis, analgesics and Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are common use for treatment of pain and inflammation. However, in rheumatoid arthritis medicine, disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs) and Corticosteroids are the first line medicine use to suppress over active immune system in attacking its own joints.

Most arthritis are caused by wear and tear of the joints. However, long term infection or injury without proper treatment can elevate the natural breakdown of cartilage tissue of the joints.

According to CDC(5), in the years of 2013–2015, approximately 22.7% or 54.4 million are affected by the disease, with significantly higher age-adjusted prevalence in women (23.5%) than in men (18.1%).

Although, arthritis prevalence increases with age, physical inactivity is associated to higher risk of arthritis development.

Sadly, the CDC continued, "With the aging of the US population, the prevalence of doctor-diagnosed arthritis is expected to increase in the coming decades. By the year 2040, an estimated 78.4 million".

Green tea, is a precious drink processed numbers of health benefit known to almost everyone in Asia and Western world.

According to the College of Pharmacy, green tea epigallocatechin 3-gallate (EGCG) in preclinical studies displayed a significant effect in treatment of arthritic disease.

In vitro, application of green tea extract EGCG demonstrated activities in cartilage-preserving and chondroprotective action through reduced expression of proinflammatory IL-1β, TNFα, and IL-6
and modulated extracellular matrix (ECM) turnover induced changes of the biomechanical environment of chondrocytes and accelerate the degradation of cartilage as well driving the progression of the disease in the presence of inflammation.

Normal extracellular matrix (ECM) is a composed collagen type II with function to provide tensile support for the tissue.

Further analysis in expression of proinflamatory factors researchers found that the over expression of proinflammatory cytokines IL-1 and IL-6 were associated correlatively in knee joints in arthritis and inhibition of IL-1 snd IL-6 by green tea EGCG IL-1 showed to reduce joint damage.

Some researchers also suggested that Interleukin 1 (IL-1) is a crucial mediator of the inflammatory response, playing an important part in the body's natural responses and the development of pathological conditions leading to chronic inflammation.

In expression of tumor necrosis factor (TNF), tumor necrosis factor alpha(TNFα, cachexin, or cachectin), application of green tea inhibited the levels of TNFα in induction of synovial fibroblast cytotoxicity.

Interestingly, in the study to evaluate the possible effects of the administration of green tea extract on the oxidative state of the liver and brain of adjuvant-induced arthritic rats, researchers indicated that green tea daily doses of 250 mg kg(-1) (59.8 mg catechins per kg) for 23 days displays a strong effect in decreased symptoms of arthritis by ameliorated diminutions in protein and lipid damage in liver, brain and plasma, through antioxidant effect in reduced levels of ROS in stimulated free radical chain reaction to initiate production of pro inflammatory cytokines in precipitated chronic diseases.

Rats treated with green tea EGCG also showed a significant improvement in restored natural antioxidant glutathione (GSH) and protein thiol levels produced by the body, by exhibiting the activities of the antioxidant enzymes.

Moreover, green tea injection also normalized the activity of glucose 6-phosphate dehydrogenase, which is increased in the liver of arthritic patients and considered as a risk factor for the development of arthritis. Increased activity glucose 6-phosphate dehydrogenase was associated to reactive oxygen species (ROS) generated in oxidative metabolism in inflicted damage on all classes of macromolecules.

Additional differentiation of green tea EGCG immunomodulatory effects and mechanisms on experimental arthritis induced by collagen-induced arthritis (CIA) mice in compared to control received phosphate buffered saline (PBS), researchers found that application of green tea EGCG at dose of 10 mg/kg demonstrated a strong effect in ameliorated clinical symptoms and reduced histological scores, through modulated the immune activity by induced over expression of the Nrf-2 antioxidant pathway, a major mechanism in the cellular defense against oxidative or electrophilic stress through detoxication and elimination.

EGCG also ameliorated experimental arthritis in mice by eliciting indoleamine-2,3-dioxygenase (IDO) through inhibition of pro-inflammatory cytokine interferon-gamma, astrocytes and microglia in facilitated production of dendritic cells (DCs) that activate the immune system to attack the dendritic cell located on surface on the joint tissue.

Application of the EGCG also increased frequencies of T regs with a dominant role in suppression of autoimmune pathology.

Some researchers suggested that increased Treg number and/or function in model systems may have a significant effect in both prevented and reversed arthritis disease.

Taken together, green tea with abundant bioactive polyphenol epigallocatechin 3-gallate (EGCG) may be considered as a functional food for alleviated symptoms, reduced risk, and progression and treatment of arthritis.

However, further data collection on large example size and multi centers studies performed with human consumption of the green tea and its bioactive polyphenol epigallocatechin 3-gallate (EGCG), during the course of the disease will be necessary to complete the picture of their anti arthritis possibilities.

*Topical Arnica Better than Ibuprofen in Alleviated Pain and Sped Up Muscle Healing, Scientists Say

By Kyle J. Norton

Arnica may have a profound and positive effect in reduced pain and numbness caused by inflammatory muscles, some scientists suggested.

The results were demonstrated in some research papers conducted by numbers of institutes, including the University of Exeter.

Muscle pain is a natural reaction of the human brain that protects our body against muscle damage and injures by the activated immune response in signaling systemic inflammation in the acute phase of infection.

However, overproduction of pro-inflammatory cytokines may cause damage to the nearby healthy cells and death of injuring cells in the area, leading to irreversible scars of the skin and tissue.

Most common causes of muscle pain are localized with tension, stress, overuse,...... and minor injuries. However Systemic muscle pain caused by infection and side effects of medication intake can induce pain throughout the entire body.

According to Safe Medicine, people who are taking medications that treat high blood cholesterol such as atorvastatin, pravastatin, simvastatin, pitavastatin, and rosuvastatin are likely to experience muscle pain.

Chronic muscle pain caused by complications of chronic diseases such as chronic exertional compartment syndrome, chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia,.... and claudication dermatomyositis are associated to increase psychological symptoms such as depression and physical symptoms of a sleep disorder such as insomnia and reduced quality of life.

Arnica is a herbaceous species, genus perennial, belongings to the family Asteraceae, native to Europe and Asia, used in herbal medicine for centuries to treat strains, sprains, and bruises.
Wound healing is a process of repairing after the damage of skin, tissues, organs, etc.

The ingredients
Helenalin, chamissonolid, Sesquiterpene lactone, lignans of the furofuran, dibenzylbutyrolactone, dibenzylbutyrolactol types, pinoresinol, epipinoresinol, phillygenin, matairesinol, nortrachelogenin, and nortracheloside, six dibenzylbutyrolactol derivatives.

In the study to evaluate the arnica patch effect in a 55-year-old female patient with pain in the right hand and numbness in the fourth finger after cellulitis in the palmar area, after the failure of antibiotics to alleviated pain observed by reading the indication 0-to-10-point visual analog scale (VAS).

The pain symptoms remained at 7 points after injection of ibuprofen, the conventional pain medicine.

According to the result of the study topical administration after 3 days of Arnica patch stripped to cover all painful areas of the hand and applied them at night exerted a pain and numbness relief and reduced size of a tender nodule on the third metacarpal area.

The self-report pain scale reading of 1, also marked a significant reduction and efficacy of the topical herbal Arnica.

Furthermore, the tested patient was able to sleep through the night without being awakened by the pain.

Moreover, all symptoms declined even more during the next 2 days.

Dr. Barkey E, after taking into account co and confounders said, " after a relatively short period of time, the administration of the Arnica patch on the hand provided a marked reduction of pain and recovery of the functionality of the hand".

These results suggested that Arnica may have a therapeutic effect in inhibited particular pro inflammatory cytokines in the initiation of the persistence of pathologic pain by directly activating nociceptive sensory neurons without reducing the activities of immune activity in protected the body tissues against infectious microorganisms.

Some researchers suggested that these results may also be attributed to Arnica ability to inhibit overexpression of reactive oxygen species (ROS) induction of inflammation through its antioxidant bioactive phytochemicals and stimulation of the production of antioxidant defense in the host body and tissue.

Truly, by balancing the ratio of ROS and levels of antioxidants in the body, and inhibited production of pro-inflammatory factors, Arnica may have the potential effect to alleviate pain and numbness of infectious muscles, joints, and hands of the patients.

Interestingly, in a double-blind, randomized comparison of Arnica administration versus placebo of a total of 37 patients undergoing bilateral endoscopic carpal-tunnel release between June 1998 and January 2000 at the at the Queen Victoria NHS Trust. researchers found that there were no group differences on the primary outcome measures of grip strength or wrist circumference.

However, Arnica treatment group showed a significant reduction in pain experienced after 2 weeks in compared to control.

Although Arnica application displayed strong properties in reduced pain symptoms of the tested patients, due to the small size of the sample, Dr. Stevinson C, the lead scientist said, "The role of homeopathic and herbal agents for recovery after surgery merits further investigation".

Taken together, topical herbal Arnica may be considered as a potential secondary therapeutic treatment in alleviated pain and numbness, particularly, in the patient who experiences some intolerant adverse effect induced by intake of conventional medicine.

Andrographis paniculata, The Herbal Medicine Stops Plaques Accumulated in Neurons and Production of Inmature Neurons That Cause Alzheimer's disease, Scientists Say

Kyle J. Norton, Master of Nutrition

Herbal Andrographolide may process a neural protective effect in the prevention of early onset of Alzheimer's disease, a common type of dementia, a study suggested.

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a chronic neurodegenerative disease that is irreversible and starts slowly and worsens over time, affecting patients thinking ability and memory, correlated with major reductions of neurons to the respective target areas. The disease is named after German physician Alois Alzheimer.

Some researchers suggested that the disease is caused by a prolonged period of plaques excessive accumulation in the brain cells,  leading to brain cells degeneration and death.

People with Alzheimer's disease may experience the decline of cognitive and functional abilities, change of motions and moods and behavior, particularly, in reducing quality of life due to disability in physical activity.

According to the statistic provided by the Alzheimer.Net, approximately, 44 million people have Alzheimer’s or related dementia worldwide. The disease is most common in North America and Western Europe.

Alzheimer’s disease is the 6th leading cause of death in the United States.

In the US, Alzheimer’s cost the United States taxpayer $259 billion in 2017.

Andrographis paniculata is also known as Andrographis is a herbaceous plant, genus Andrographis, belonging to the family Acanthaceae, native to India and Sri Lanka.

The herb has been used in traditional Siddha and Ayurvedic in treating the common cold, flu, upper respiratory infections, infectious diseases, diarrhea, dysentery, cholera, pneumonia,...

According to the joint study lead by the Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile, oral administrated natural product (Andrographolide, ANDRO) isolated from Andrographis paniculata in species Octodon degus (degu) exhibited the recovery of spatial memory and learning performance, through regulated phosphorylated tau protein and amyloid beta aggregate maturation in cell survival in inducing Alzheimer's disease.

Dr., the lead author in the joint study said, "(Andrographolide, ANDRO) inhibited) neural damage associated with aging processes and the behavioral and neuropathological hallmarks of aging-related diseases such as AD"

Additionally, Andrographolide also displayed the inhibitory activity of against forming of amyloid beta (Aβ)42 through suppression of NF-κB, a protein that regulates cell survival and function of microglia in activated response to brain damage and immunological stimuli together with the reduction in the production of pro inflammatory cytokines.

In animal study, mice treated with Andrographolide increased neural progenitor cell proliferation and decreased the number of immature neurons in the hippocampus, compared to age-matched control mice.

Moreover, ANDRO increased the number of newborn dentate granule neurons in various parts of the brain.

The study also found that the efficacy that reduces symptoms and protects against the early onset of the AD is the results of the stimulation of neurogenesis in the hippocampus.

Taking together, Andrographis paniculata is surely consisted as a therapeutic potential to protect the development of Alzheimer's disease through various mechanisms, however, intake of large amount daily should be taken with care.

However, additional data collection on large example size and multi-centers studies performed with human consumption of the whole food during the course of the disease will be necessary to complete the picture of Andrographis paniculata anti-Alzheimer's disease possibilities.

Aloe Vera or Aloe Vera supplement may be used to delay skin aging that causes expression of wrinkle, some scientists suggested.

Skin aging is a natural and biological process that change with age including wrinkles, age spots and dryness.

As we age, the skin also becomes thinner and loses fat, these conditions increase less plump and smooth. In case of injure, the skin also.takes longer to heal, too.

Wrinkle is a skin degenerative condition caused by the loss of dermis and subcutaneous fat layer underneath the skin, leading to a slight line or fold on the skin, particular in the face.

Unhealthy diet and life style also are major factors that increase early onset of skin aging.

Stacey Colino, a freelance Health & Wellness reporter at U.S. News, in the article of  "6 Surprising Factors That Can Accelerate the Aging of Your Skin" suggested that consuming lots of highly processed or sugary foods, always sleeping on the same side, being depressed, yo yo diet, long term intake of certain medicine such as corticosteroids, antibiotics, ACE inhibitors and diuretics and being a frequent flyer are also associated to prevalent risk factors of early aging(6).

Smoking causes over expression of free radicals that can damage skin cells in facilitated premature wrinkles.

Other causable factors such as stress, gravity, daily facial movement, obesity,..... and even sleep pattern may also have some effects in stimulated premature aging.

According to the University of Paris VI, free radical generation in the skin by UV light and from other sources, such as cellular infiltrations or the xanthine oxidase reaction also may contribute to at least retardation of premature cutaneous aging(4).

In the report of “Global Anti-Aging Market Research Report and Forecast to 2017-2022” published by OrbisResearch.com, the writer wrote, "The Global Anti-Aging Market was worth $250 billion in 2016 and estimated to be growing at a CAGR of 5.8%, to reach $331.41 billion by 2021" and "The future growth of anti-aging market is observed to rely on the advancement and technological development with enhanced efficacy and safety of anti-aging products"(5).

Aloe Vera is species of succulent plant in the genus Aloe, belongings to the Family Xanthorrhoeaceae, native to Sudan. een

The plant is very popular for commercial cultivation due to its health benefits. Herbal Aloe Vera has used in traditional medicine to treat wound, burn healing, minor skin infections, sebaceous cysts, diabetes,....... and elevated of cholesterol.

According to the Food Ingredients & Technology Institute, daily oral intake of plant sterols of Aloe vera gel (Aloe sterol) significantly increases the skin barrier function, moisture, and elasticity in photoprotected skin of that may reduce risk of skin wrinkle.

In a 12-week, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study, in 48 apparently healthy men (age range: 30-59 years; average: 45 years), intake of oral Aloe sterol supplementation after 12 weeks showed a significant improvement of the skin elasticity index in comparison in the baseline value.

Dr. Tanaka M, the lead author said, "Aloe sterol ingestion increased skin elasticity in the photodamaged skin of men aged <46 years, and "No Aloe sterol intake-dependent harmful phenomenon was observed during the intake period".

Furthermore, in vitro, Aloe sterols increased production of collagen and hyaluronic acid, natural substance in skin response to connective, epithelial, and neural tissues. approximately two-fold and 1.5-fold, and promoted gene expression levels in human dermal fibroblasts.

In fact, daily oral Aloe sterol-containing Aloe vera gel powder (AVGP) significantly reduced facial wrinkles in women aged ≥40 years as well as stimulated collagen and hyaluronic acid production by human dermal fibroblasts.

In support of the above evaluation, intake of Aloe Vera gel enhanced healthy skin through promoting elasticity (R2), net elasticity (R5), and biological elasticity (R7) scores and skin fatigue area F3,the Food Ingredients and Technology Institute 12 weeks study suggested.

Taking altogether, there is no doubt that oral administration of Aloe Vera or Aloe Vera supplements may improve skin condition including wrinkle, caused by skin aging, but quality of amount intake should only be prescribed by related field specialist.

*Asparagus, the Antidepressant Natural Whole Food, Biomedical Literature Suggested

By Kyle J. Norton, Master of Nutrition

Scientists may have found a dietary vegetable that processes a strong and profound impact in ameliorated psychological depression, recent study suggested.

Depression is a commonly psychological disease that affects your normal feeling, thinking and reacting to events that occur daily in your life.

People with depression may feel ashamed or afraid to ask for help. others suffer in silence.

According to the statistic of the World Health Organization, 300 million people around the world have depression. The numbers of  Americans suffer from depression are increasing at an alarming rate. As of today, 16.2 million adults in the United States or 6.7% of all adults have depression in the country.

Women are more susceptible to develop depression than men and fewer than half of those affected by depression in the world are seeking professional treatment.

The disease is the leading cause of disability worldwide, and  a major contributor to the overall global burden of diseases.

Depression is a normal response as part of our daily lives such as the loss of s job, the death of a love one, and illness. Over 30 million

Contrary to some misconceptions, depression can be treated and avoidable.

What cause depression? is debatable, however, genetic predisposition, personality, stress and brain chemistry are found to associate to the onset of the disease.

Chronic medical conditions also can trigger the development of depression. According to the study by the Shanghai University of Sport in the review of 60 articles with a total of 4311 patients, chronic diseases are highly correlated to the expression of depression and reduced quality of life(5).

The study also suggested that increasing SF-36 physical function subscale in such patients in short and long term may have a profound and positive effect in ameliorated depression and improved quality of life.

Use of antidepressants by conventional medicine,  may be effective. However, they can induce side effects of upset stomach, insomnia, sexual problems, anxiety, dizziness,..... and fatigue.

In severe cases, intake of anti depressant may cause serotonin syndrome, seizures, irregular heartbeat and unconsciousness and some people in the group of under the age of 25 may experience suicidal thoughts, according to the BBC report By Lesley Ashmall(6).

Asparagus is a flowering plant, belongings to species the genus Asparagus, native to the western coasts of northern Spain, north to Ireland, Great Britain, and northwest Germany, northern Africa and Western Asia.

The vegetable has been used from early times as a food and medicine, because of its delicate flavour and diuretic properties.

In an oral administration of methanolic extract of roots of AR (MAR) of the doses of 100, 200 and 400 mg/kg daily for 7 days and then subjected to forced swim test(FST) in mice, researchers found that application of the extract decreases immobility in FST and increases avoidance response in learned helplessness test (LH), an indication of antidepressant activity.

Dr. Singh GK, the lead author said, " MAR had insignificant effect on l-DOPA-induced aggressive behavior indicating absence of activity on dopaminergic system" and  "MAR has significant antidepressant activity and this effect is probably mediated through the serotonergic and the noradrenergic systems and augmentation of antioxidant defenses".

Furthermore, the injection of extracts of Asparagus cochinchinensis (AC) also expressed anti depressive effects, through inhibited oxidative stress that cause of neuro cell damage and improve cell signal reponse and signal transmitting.

Total saponin isolated from AC significantly is found ti inhibit free radical of H2O2 in induction of cell death in cultured cortical neurons.

Additional analysis suggested that AC antidepressant-like and neuroprotective (reducing infarct size) effects are associated to the activation of Shp-2 pathways which are associated to inhibition of depression in animal model.

Some researchers suggested that antidepressant activity of Asparagus racemosus (AR) may also be mediated by the neurotransmitters system, and cognitive activities possibly through the cholinergic system involved neuromuscular junctions, preganglionic neurons of the sympathetic nervous system....

Moreover, the study also showed that AR may be used as food and have potential drug-drug, drug-food and food-food interactions with drugs and foods, sharing the cholinergic and monoaminergic pathways in sending message between neuro cells, induced protective activities against development of depression.

These results suggested that asparagus ameliorated depression is it's neuroprotective effect by inhibited free radical that cause neuro cells damage and improved cell signal response.

However, further data collection on large example size and multi centers studies performed with human consumption of the whole food during the course of the disease will be necessary to complete the picture of asparagus anti depression possibilities.

*Detoxification: What Are The Internal Causes of Toxins Accumulated in Our Body? Scientists Explain

By Kyle J. Norton, Master of Nutrition

Western diet processed sugar, salt, and fat, artificial sweeteners, gluten, and genetically modified foods have strong impacts in induction of toxins that can cause harm to the health of our body.

Unhealthy diet have a significant implication in weakened immune system against pathogens and digestive gut microbiome in absorbed nutrients and fluids for our body needs(9).

Some researchers suggested that our detoxifying functions try to get rid of them everyday, If they fail, over expression of toxins may cause disruption of hormone production, organs damage, leading to hormone imbalance and chronic illness.

The internal causes of toxins may include
1. Overdose of red meat
Today, animals are grown in a crowded environment and fed by growth hormones to perverse the maximum profits for commercial benefits.

No matter how restricted the government regulations are, these traces of growth hormone still remain in the animal body causing more harm than good.

Although our body requires protein and fat to function daily, overdose of red meat causes cholesterol building up in the arteries, triglyceride in the bloodstream, and high blood pressure, leading to risk of heart diseases and chronic ailments.

According to the article of  "Red meat triggers toxic immune reaction which causes cancer, scientists find" by Dr. Sarah Knapton, "...... that pork, beef and lamb contains a sugar which is naturally produced by other carnivores but not humans" and "It means that when humans eat red meat, the body triggers an immune response to the foreign sugar, producing antibodies which spark inflammation, and eventually cancer" and "... those who regularly ate 5.6oz (160g) of red meat a day had one third higher risk of bowel cancer". (1).

2. Refine sugar
Carbohydrates are essential to our liver and kidney function, overdose of sugar in American diet causes insulin resistance, damaging the pancreas, reducing the circulation of blood and causing hormone imbalance.

According to the article of 5 Questions and Answers About Glucose Toxicity by Alice Callahan,
Glucose toxicity happens when chronically high glucose levels cause damage to the pancreas. Insulin is a very effective treatment, and it’s usually only needed temporarily(2).

Furthermore, the WebMD wrote, Western diet loads with sugar may cause damage to the brain, liver, skin, heart, kidney,... and reproductive organs(3).

3. Excessive  alcohol drinking
Our social life is a mess. We drink too much. Since alcohol is a stimulant, moderate drinking increases the circulation of blood and improves mental alertness.

Excessive drinking reduces the brain's function, pancreas dysfunction, damaging our liver, heart  and pancreas, decreasing the function of the immune system.

According to National Institutes of Alcohol Abuse(4), excessive alcohol drinking

* Interferes with the brain in transmitting information between cells and functioning, leading to  change mood and behavior change and think clearly and move with coordination.

  * Can damage the liver, leading to liver disease and inflammations.

* Causes damage of pancreas,  leading to pancreatitis, a dangerous inflammation and swelling of the blood vessels in the pancreas.

* Can weaken your immune system, making your body a much easier target for disease.

*  Too much on a single occasion can damage the heart, causing problems.

4. Artificial Agents
Artificial agents may help to perverse food and make it look good, but they are toxic to our body. These types of agents stimulate appetite by directly influencing the hunger centers of the brain causing you to eat more resulting in obesity.

According to the University of Pennsylvania, artificial sweetener have a strong effect in stimulated the development of lymphomas, leukemias, cancers of the bladder and brain, chronic fatigue syndrome, Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, multiple sclerosis, autism, and systemic lupus(5).

Some researchers suggested that intake of synthetic flavorings, nature identical and artificial cause toxicity to hematopoietic tissue cells in rodents's study(6) and under the study conditions, synthetic flavorings of passion fruit and strawberry, and artificial synthetic flavorings, vanilla, chocolate, tutti-frutti and cookie microingredients induced cytotoxic and genotoxic, and additives strawberry, chocolate and cookie are also mutagenic(6)..

5. Smoking
Smoking not only causes lung cancer, it also causes the depletion of oxygen levels in the bloodstream, increasing the risk of hardening, thickening and calcium attached in arterial wall(7) as well as increasing the risk of heavy metals accumulating in the brain, kidney and testis  (8).
