#Greentea Inhibits the Risk of #SkinDisorders Associated with Prolonged UVB Exposure, Studies Find

Kyle J. Norton

Green tea may have a therapeutic and positive effect in the treatment of seborrheic keratosis, some scientists suggested.
Seborrheic keratosis is a common skin disorder in older adults with the appearance of brown, black, or light tan growth on the face, chest, shoulders, or back.

Although the disorder is painless and required no treatment, seborrheic keratosis may annoy some people if they develop in the face areas.

The causes of Seborrheic Keratoses are not known. However, some researchers suggested, prolonged sun exposure may play a role in the stimulated onset of the condition.

Luckily, Seborrheic keratoses are not contagious.

Aging and family history also are prevalent risk factors for skin disease onset.

Green tea is a precious drink that processed a number of health benefits known to almost everyone in Asia and the Western world.

In the examine the exposure of skin to a variety of environmental, chemical, and genotoxic agents that contribute to skin disease and carcinogenesis, researchers found that

* Sun ultraviolet light (UVR) is considered the main external stress in the induction of skin disorders including seborrheic keratoses through promoting immunosuppression, oxidative stress, premature aging,...... and

*Application of green tea polyphenols protects the skin of the body against such expressions by exhibiting significant antioxidant, chemopreventive, and immunomodulatory effects.

Further analysis of the effect of skin damage induced by ultraviolet (UV) radiation in animal models of 30 BALB/c mice randomly divided into 3 groups:

* Control group ( mice), without UVB exposure and green tea administration;

*. Exposure group ( mice), which were exposed to UVB light only; and

*. Treatment group ( mice), which were exposed to UVB light and treated with 1 mL of green tea through oral gavage.

After 4 days/week of UVB irradiation (20 minutes/day, 4 weeks), researchers indicated that oral administration of green tea exerted a significant photo-protection against UVB-induced hyperplasia, an indication of abnormal cell proliferation.

These results suggested that green tea has had a strong implication in ameliorating the risk of skin disorders in the induction of overgrowth of abnormal cells and skin cell damage caused by prolonged UVB exposure, including seborrheic keratoses.

More importantly, although sun-exposed and non-sun-exposed skin, cumulative exposure to sunlight and aging have been proposed as independent risk factors for the development of seborrheic keratoses, however, in gene expression, researchers found that mutation of protein PTEN may have a strong impact on the expression of seborrheic keratoses.

Phosphatase and tensin homolog (PTEN) is a protein with a function in signaling the making of a tumor suppressor enzyme in regulating cell division.

Mutation of PTEN was a risk factor for the development of many types of cancer.

Some researchers in the investigation of UVB exposure against skin diseases in healthy individuals suggested that UVB-induced expression of seborrheic keratoses by downgraded PTEN expression.

In other words, exposure to UVB in reduced function of PTEN or mutation of protein PTEN expressed a strong effect in promoted seborrheic keratoses development.

Truly, according to the study with all animal procedures approved by the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee at the University of Chicago, to compare the tumor formation in the skin between mice with normal PTEN ( þ / þ ) and mice with PTEN hemizygosity, researchers once again confirmed that deleted one allele of the Pten gene in the epidermal keratinocytes causes the formation of tumors resembling human seborrheic keratoses(SKs) as well as of squamous cell carcinomas (SCCs)(3).

According to the University of Regensburg, genetic mutation such as FGFR3 mutations is associated with the pathogenesis of at least a subset of seborrheic keratoses.

Increased age also is also a risk factor for FGFR3 mutations.

Taken together, Green tea and its bioactive polyphenols may have a therapeutic effect in the attenuated development of seborrheic keratoses induced by overexpression UVB or UVB in reduced function of Phosphatase and Tensin homolog (PTEN) or PTEN protein mutation,.

#Omega3 Fatty Acids Preserve the Neuron against Damage Immediately After the Incidence of Stroke, According to Studies

Kyle J. Norton

Stroke is the third leading cause of death. Approximately 1/4 of all stroke victims die as a direct result of the stroke or its complications.

Stroke is caused by the accumulation of cholesterol and other substances that build up the arterial walls.

In other words, if cholesterol building up in the arteries is blocking the circulation of blood in any part of the body causing oxygen not to be delivered to the brain, leading to the death of some cells in the brain.

According to the statistics, every year, more than 790,000 people suffer a stroke, 600,000 of these are first attacks, and 185,000 are recurrent attacks. Most cases of stroke occur in people over the age of 65.

Myocardial infarction (MI) is a medical condition known as a heart attack caused by the blood flow decreasing or stopping in a part of the heart, leading to damage to the heart muscle.

In other words, myocardial infarction (MI) occurs due to the imbalance in oxygen supply and demand caused by plaque rupture with thrombus formation in an artery, leading to reduced blood flow to the heart.

Prompt treatment can minimize brain damage and potential post-disease complications.

The most common symptoms of MI are pressure, tightness, pain, or a squeezing or aching sensation in your chest, digestive discomforts such as nausea, indigestion, heartburn, abdominal pain, shortness of breath, and dizziness.

Conventionally, the treatment of myocardial infarction is focused to reduce the damage to the heart muscle accomplished through medical or mechanical means.

Omega-3 fatty acids are phytochemicals in the class of lipids, found abundantly in deepsea fisk, dark-green leafy vegetables, grains, legumes, nuts, etc.

The three main components of Omega-3 fatty acids are alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA).

In finding a potential phytochemical for the treatment of post-stroke, researchers examined the omega-3 eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) EPA the infarct-limiting effect on experimental models.

The observational study was conducted in 100 patients with a reperfused anterior ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI), at hospital admission who quantified by gas-chromatography the red blood cell proportions of AA, EPA, and the AA: EPA ratio, a valid surrogate for cardiomyocyte membrane content.

According to the results of the tested analysis,* AA:EPA ratio directly related to acute infarct size (coefficient [95% CI]: 6.19 [1.68 to 10.69], P = 0.008) and inversely to long-term cardiac function (left ventricular ejection fraction [LVEF]) (coefficient [95% CI]: − 4.02 [− 7.15 to − 0.89], P = 0.012), comapred to uintreated control.

* EPA inversely related to acute infarct size (coefficient [95% CI]: − 6.58; [− 11.46 to − 1.70]; P = 0.009), while a direct association with LVEF at follow-up (coefficient [95% CI]: 3.67 [0.25 to 7.08]; P = 0.036) was observed.

In other words, both applications of omega-3 fatty acids demonstrated protective activity to preserve the neuron against damage immediately after the incidence of stroke.
Additionally, researchers also found, " A low AA: EPA ratio in red blood cells at the time of STEMI is associated with smaller acute infarct size and preserved long-term ventricular function".

Collectively, they said, "Our results are consistent with prior work in experimental models and add to the notion of omega-3 fatty acids as a healthy fat".

Taken altogether, Omega-3 fatty acids found abundantly in fish oil and plant oil may be considered a functional food for the treatment of myocardial infarction, pending the confirmation of the larger sample size and multicenter human study.

Intake of Omega-3 fatty acids in the form of supplements should be taken with extreme care to prevent overdose and acute liver toxicity.

#BetaSitosterol Increases Secretion of Insulin and #Pancreatic Islets Functioning Associated with the Risk of Type 2 #Diabetes

Kyle J. Norton

The pancreas is an oblong flattened gland in the digestive and endocrine system located in the abdomen. By secreting pancreatic juice into the small intestine, the pancreas helps to break down carbohydrates, proteins, and lipids.

Traditional Chinese medicine views the pancreas, as a vital organ responsible for the absorption of foods' qi and nutrients before passing them to other organs to nourish our body.

More precisely, the functions of the pancreas including the
* Production of enzymes digest fat, protein, and
carbohydrates.

* Production of juices combined with juices from the intestines to break down protein, carbohydrates, and fat, therefore, it plays an important role in maintaining good health.

* Production of insulin, which is important in regulating the amount of sugar or glucose in the blood.

Pancreatic islets are groups of hormones producing cells, including insulin and glucagon, that work together to maintain the proper level of sugar (glucose) in the blood.

Profound distortion of islet organization in the pancreas has been found to induce account abnormal secretory behavior of the glucagon-secreting A cells in insulin-dependent juvenile-onset diabetes.

Type 1 diabetes, also known as juvenile diabetes or insulin-dependent diabetes, is the most common form of diabetes found in children and is a condition in which the pancreas does not produce any insulin. The most common form of type 1 diabetes is caused by genetic mutation and some viruses.

As of today, there is no cure for type 1 diabetes. Treatment is focusing on managing blood sugar levels with insulin injection, diet, and lifestyle changes.

According to statistics, diabetes is one of the most common diseases in the US. Approximately 10% or 29.1 million people in the United States have diabetes, accompanied by 8.1 million that are undiagnosed and unaware of their condition.

About 1.4 million new cases of diabetes are diagnosed in the United States every year. More than one in every 10 adults who are 20 years or older has diabetes.

Beta-Sitosterol is a phytochemical in the class of Phytosterols, belongings to the group of Lipids, found abundantly in avocados, rice bran, wheat germ, corn oils, fennel, peanuts, soybeans, hawthorn, basil, and buckwheat. etc.

In finding a potential phytochemical for the prevention and treatment of infectious diseases, researchers elucidated the anti-diabetic effects of the extract of A. tenuifolia underground parts and β-sitosterol on rat pancreatic islets.

According to the results of the analysis,* The root extract of the plant and compound β-sitosterol isolated from the root extracts showed moderate α-amylase inhibitory activity.

* Furthermore, the herb root extract was able to increase the secretion of insulin in high concentrations (10 mg/mL) and improved the cell viability with no toxicity in all doses.

* The herbal extract could reduce the levels of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and lipid peroxidation (LPO) associated with the onset of oxidative stress in orchestrating damage to the pancreatic islets.

* Moreover, the plant extract also significantly decreased the enzyme activity associated with pro-apoptotic expression by increasing the antioxidant capacity of the isolated cells.

In other words, all compounds found in the extract work synergistically to protect the pancreatic islets by inhibiting all parameters involved in pancreatic damage, particularly, the compound β-sitosterol

Taken altogether, beta-Sitosterol combined with other phytochemicals found in A. tenuifolia underground parts may be considered a supplement for the protection of pancreatic islets-induced diabetes, pending the confirmation of the larger sample size and multicenter human study.

Intake of beta-Sitosterol in the form of supplements should be taken with extreme care to prevent overdose and acute liver toxicity.

Intake of #Greentea Daily and Regularly Is Associated with a Reduced Risk of #Leukemia, According to Studies

Kyle J. Norton

Green tea may have positive and potential effects in reduced risk and treatment of leukemia, according to studies of some scientists.

Green tea, a precious drink processes a number of health benefits known to almost everyone in Asia and the Western world. However, as yin in nature herbal medicine or food, long-term injection of large amounts may obstruct the balance of yin-yang, inducing "excessive yin syndrome" or "yang vacuity syndrome" including weakened immunity and painful case of GERD,... according to traditional Chinese medicine's Yin-Yang theory.

Leukemia is a malignant progressive disease characterized by irregular cell growth in the bone marrow and other blood-forming organs. According to the statistic, approximately Over 300 children with 0-14 years of age are diagnosed with leukemia each year in Canada alone.

In the review of the literature published online, green extract epigallocatechin‑3-O-gallate (EGCG) processed a significant anti-cancer effect in reduced chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) expansion in the myeloid cells through a number of mechanisms.

Application of green tea epigallocatechin‑3-O-gallate (EGCG) in reduced risk of chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) was found to associate with the cellular process of cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP)-dependent pathway and protein kinase Cδ expression to induce cancer cells apoptosis by increased acid sphingomyelinase (ASM) and lipid raft clustering in CML cells.

Acid sphingomyelinase (ASM), an enzyme plays an important role in normal membrane turnover.

Protein kinase Cδ expression plays a key role in signal transduction and are involved in the regulation of numerous cellular processes.

Cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP)-is an important second messenger in many biological processes involving a series of molecular functions.

Further analysis also suggested that exhibited sGC function by injection of green tea EGCG, may be an ideal approach to suppress proliferation and survival of human CML

In other words, reduced expression of regulation of sGC caused by decreased NO production may initiate growth and survival advantage in CML tumor cells.

Soluble guanylyl cyclase (sGC) is the only known receptor for nitric oxide.

Pharmacologically, pretreatment of soluble guanylate cyclase inhibitor NS-2028 decreased nitric oxide (NO)-stimulated sGC activity and also reduced green tea polyphenol activities in activated sphingomyelinase (ASM) production.

NS-2028 is a specific inhibitor of soluble guanylyl cyclase.

In acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL), green tea (Camellia sinensis) catechin epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) displayed a strong and positive effect in elevating the expression of genes associated with cell cycle arrest and differentiation, including gene expression p27, PCAF, C/EBPα, and C/EBPɛ

P27, a cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor 1B is an enzyme inhibitor and in elevation exerted positive regulation of cancer activity at the G1/S phase transition in cell division.

P300/CBP-associated factor (PCAF), is a gene associated with binding to many sequence-specific factors involved in cell growth and/or differentiation.

Enhancer binding protein alpha/EBPα, with function in modulating the expression of genes involved in cell cycle regulation.

Enhancer binding protein epsilon (C/EBPɛ) is a protein composed of two polypeptide chains with the function of binding to certain DNA regulatory regions.

Additionally, injection of EGCG also demonstrated a huge effect against cancerous changes in gene expression and reduced expression of epigenetic modifiers DNMT1, HDAC1, HDAC2, and G9a.

DNA Methyltransferase, (DNMT1), Methylation of DNA is an important component of mammalian epigenetic gene regulation.

Histone deacetylase 1 and 2 (HDAC1 and 2) are enzymes that promote epigenetic repression and function in transcriptional regulation, cell cycle progression, and development.

Euchromatic histone-lysine N-methyltransferase 2 (EHMT2) or G9a.is an epigenetic modifier enzyme with function in regulating gene expression involved in the functional role of cancer initiation and progression. Down-regulation of G9a also decreased expression of histone H3K9 (H3K9me2) in inhibited cancer cells proliferation

Other, in the multicenter case-control study conducted in China, 2008-2013, comprising 442 incident, hematologically confirmed adult leukemia cases and 442 outpatient controls, individually matched to cases by gender, birth quinquennium by the University of Western Australia also confirmed the inverse association of green tea intake to adult leukemia risk.

Risk of leukemia adjusted odds ratios of 0.50 was found in green tea drinkers compared to nondrinkers, particularly in patients with GSTM1 and GSTP1 genotypes.

Dr. Liu P, the lead author said, "Regular daily green tea consumption may reduce leukemia risk in Chinese adults regardless of GSTM1 and GSTP1 polymorphic status. The association between green tea and adult leukemia risk varied with GSTT1 genotype".

Taken together, green tea and epigallocatechin‑3-O-gallate (EGCG) intake may be considered a secondary therapeutic application combined with standard therapy for the treatment of Leukemia regardless of polymorphic status.

#OleanolicAcid Improves the Digestive Function by Reducing the Severity of #Diarrhea and #IntestinalStructuralDamage, Researchers Show

Kyle J. Norton

Diarrhea is a condition of frequent bowel movements with three loose or liquid each day. A prolonged period of diarrhea may result in dehydration due to fluid loss.

Acute diarrhea, healing on its own is a common problem caused by viruses that may last a few days. The most common causes of acute diarrhea are rotavirus in children and norovirus in adults.

Persistent diarrhea that lasts more than 4 weeks is considered chronic diarrhea.

Chronic diarrhea is a medical condition caused by impaired digestion of fats due to low production of pancreatic enzymes and impaired absorption of fats due to small intestinal diseases, including lactose, sorbitol, fructose intolerance, and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).

Certain medications such as antibiotics, dietary changes, infected with bacteria or viruses are some of the most common factors associated with an increased risk of diarrhea.

Infections by bacteria such as Salmonella or Escherichia coli are the most common causes of acute diarrhea. Patients with acute diarrhea usually are recovered within a week or 2 with or without medication.

However, patients with some bowel diseases such as irritable bowel syndrome or inflammatory bowel disease also frequently experience chronic conditions, which can not be cured unless the diseases are treated.

In some cases, chronic frequent and severe diarrhea can be a sign of intestinal disease or a functional bowel disorder.

The most common symptoms of diarrhea include loose, watery stools. abdominal pain and gastrointestinal discomforts. In severe cases, patients may also experience symptoms of fever and blood in the stool.

Some researchers suggested that symptoms of diarrhea accompanied by blood in the stool are also a sign of colon cancer.

Oleanolic acid is a phytochemical in the subclass of Triterpenoid, belonging to the group of Terpenes found abundantly in honey mesquite, garlic, java apple, clove, etc.

In finding a potential plant that improves digestive functioning, researchers examined the effect of oleanolic acid (OA) on Salmonella typhimurium (S.T), a common cause of acute, self-limiting food-borne diarrhea with severe intestinal inflammation and intestinal barrier damage.

The study included a total of eighty BALB/c mice (4-week-old) that were randomly divided into the control group (no S.T, no OA), the S.T group (S.T only), the S.T + OA group (S.T plus 100 mg kg-1 OA) and the OA group (100 mg kg-1 OA only).

According to the results of the analysis,
* Compared with the S.T group, OA administration significantly reduced clinical symptoms and weight loss, and the severity of diarrhea and intestinal structural damage was significantly alleviated observed by a decrease in the diarrhea index (DI) and jejunal histological damage.

* In the infected jejunum, OA maintained the expression and localization of occludin, claudin-1, and ZO-1 to protect the jejunal barrier.

* OA treatment not only reduced the levels of COX-2 and iNOS but also inhibited the secretion of pro-inflammatory cytokines, such as IL-1β, IL-6, and TNF-α.

* A treatment significantly inhibited IκB phosphorylation and degradation against the intestinal tissues.

* OA also decreased the level of TLR4 associated with inflammatory cytokines and the activation of the MAPK pathway in the production of anti-inflammatory cytokines.

Collectively, researchers said, "OA can maintain the intestinal tight junction barrier and prevent diarrhea caused by S.T.".

Taken altogether, oleanolic acid may be considered a remedy for the prevention and treatment of liver diarrhea, pending the confirmation of the larger sample size and multicenter human study.

#Omega3 Fatty Acids Inhibits the Adverse Effects of #Chemoradiotherapy Patients with Head and Neck Cancer, Researchers Suggest

Kyle J. Norton

Cancer is a class of diseases in which a group of cells grow and multiply disorderly and uncontrollably in our body.

Most cases of cancer begin in the cells on the surface of the inner lining tissues of the organ or gland. At the early stage, most cancers are asymptomatic.

Head and neck cancer is a group of cancers found in the mouth, throat, larynx, sinuses, or salivary glands.

Most cases of head and neck cancer, at the early stage, start with the cell growth irregularly and disorderly on the surface of the inner lining of the head and neck.

At the advanced stage, patients may experience symptoms of a lump in the nose, neck, or throat, with or without pain, a persistent sore throat that does not heal, trouble swallowing (dysphagia), and frequent and persistent coughing.

At this stage, cancer cells may travel a distance away from the original site to infect other healthy tissue and organs.

The most common head and neck cancer metastases are secondary skin cancer.

The exact causes of head and neck cancer are unknown. Researchers cannot explain why people with similar health conditions and the same risk factors, are susceptible to the onset of the disease, while others do not.

Some researchers suggested that people who perform oral sex before sexual intercourse is at a higher incidence of disease development as human papillomavirus (HPV) can spread during oral sex, increasing the possibility of oral cancer.

mitted virus.

According to the statistics, head and neck cancer accounts only for about 4% of all cancers in the US. In 2019, an estimated 65,410 people (48,000 men and 17,410 women) were funded to develop head and neck cancer.

Most people diagnosed with head and neck cancer are older than 50.

In finding a potential phytochemical for the treatment of cancer, researchers investigated the effect of a nutritional supplement with a high blend ratio of w-3 fatty acids(Prosure®) on body weight loss, and oral mucositis in patients with head and neck cancer.

The study included 17 patients with oropharyngeal and hypopharyngeal cancer who were treated with concomitant cisplatin and 70 Gy of radiotherapy with or without 2 packs of Prosure®per day during chemoradiotherapy.

According to the final results,* The reduction in body weight was significantly improved compared with that in the historical control group that did not receive Prosure®(7.3% vs 10.3%, p<0.01),

* The rate of Grade 3-4 oral mucositis was significantly reduced for the patient groups that received Prosure®(CTCAE v3.0 GradeB3; 24% vs 58%, p<0.05).

Most importantly, the completion rate of chemoradiotherapy was not significantly different between both groups(77% vs 60%, NS).

Based on the evidence, researchers said, "A nutritional supplement with a high blend ratio of w-3 fatty acids(Prosure®)had effects on oral mucositis and body weight loss in head and neck cancer patients treated with chemoradiotherapy".

Taken altogether, Omega-3 fatty acids found abundantly in fish oil and plant oil may be considered a functional food for the prevention of breast cancer by reducing breast density, pending the confirmation of the larger sample size and multicenter human study.

Intake of Omega-3 fatty acids in the form of supplements should be taken with extreme care to prevent overdose and acute liver toxicity.

Endometrial cancer is a medical condition characterized by cell growth uncontrollably in the endometrium. At the late stage, cancerous cells may travel a distance away from the original site to infect other organs and tissues.

In the review of research papers online, the effects of green tea polyphenol (-)-epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) in the inhibition of endometrial cancer were expressed in various aspects.

In the experiment of green tea bioactive compound against progression of tumor xenografts of human endometrial cancer, (-)-epigallocatechin-3-gallate EGCG demonstrated a significant effect in reduced risk of endometrial cancer development through the bioactive chemicals anti-tumor angiogenesis properties.

In fact, the anti-cancer active compound efficacy was attributed to the modulation of expression of vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGFA) protein in the established new vessel to stimulate the onset of cancer and cancer cell proliferation and HIF-1 functions in the activated transcription of many genes, in regulated cellular and systemic homeostatic response to external changes to tumor growth.

Furthermore, application of EGCG also suppressed responses of chemokine (C-X-C motif) ligand 12 (CXCL12) in the expression of multiple physiological processes, in promoted invasion and metastasis of tumor cells in connected tissues of the uterine mucosa (endometrium), thus reducing the infiltration of VEGFA-expressing tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) in supplying rapidly growing malignant tissues with essential nutrients and oxygen.

Additionally, further analysis also insisted that EGCG restricted secretion of vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGFA) in initiated endometrial cancer growth by inhibiting the function of PI3K/AKT/mTOR/HIF1α pathway in regulated many cellular processes, including cell survival, proliferation, and growth.

After taking account of all findings, treatment with EGCG reduced the risk of endometrial cancer onset may be a result of EGCG-suppressed secretion in both fronts including decreased cancer cell-secreted VEGFA but inhibited TAM-secreted VEGFA in endometrial cancer progression.
Further differentiation, also showed that green tea polyphenol (-)-epigallocatechin-3-gallate reduced cancer expansion by suppressing the expression of proliferation markers which acts indirectly to stimulate endometrial epithelial proliferation in estrogen receptor α, progesterone receptor, proliferating cell nuclear antigen, and cyclin D1

The overexpression of cyclin D1 has been linked to the development and progression of cancer.

Proliferating cell nuclear antigen is a protein with function in cell cycle regulation and/or DNA replication and is important for both DNA synthesis and DNA repair.

Importantly, the inhibition of EGCG also decreased the activation of ERK, the extracellular signal–regulated kinases protein in cancer cell division, and down expression of transcription factors fos and jun, the cellular immediate-early genes in induced transient cancer cell division and differentiation processes.

The function of EGCG in reduced risk of endometrial cancer is also expressed through Bcl-2-associated X protein, cleavage of caspase-3 and poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase actions in the induction of cancer cell apoptosis, and suppression of antiapoptotic protein Bcl-2 (B-cell lymphoma 2).

Bcl-2-associated X is a protein with the function of anti- or pro-apoptotic regulators involved in a wide variety of cellular activities.

B-cell lymphoma 2, a family protein with function in the regulation of cell apoptosis.

Cleavage of caspase-3 also is known as a critical executioner of apoptosis,

Poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase is a protein with function involved in a number of cellular processes, including programmed cell death.

Implicitly, the application of EGCG also increased the production of free radical expression in initiated the cytotoxicity effect by reduced levels of antioxidant glutathione levels and activated the p38 in cancer cells death without inducing toxicity to normal cells

P38 mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPKs) are activated by a wide range of cellular stresses as well as in response to inflammatory cytokines involved in cell differentiation, apoptosis, and autophagy.

Indeed, according to a systematic review of the literature published on the database of PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, and China Biological Medicine Database upto February 2, 2015, researchers indicated that green tea consumption was associated with a reduced risk of EC with a relative risk of .78 and each additional cup of green tea consumed per day decreased risk of developing EC by 11%.

Particularly, the intake of green tea associated with attenuated risk of endometrial cancer was 84.33% compared to 5.07 % of black tea.

Taken together, green tea and its polyphenol (-)-epigallocatechin-3-gallate EGCG may be considered a functional food used in conjunction with standard therapy in reduced risk and treatment of endometrial cancer.
