Green tea may have a therapeutic and positive effect in protecting your lung damage caused by cigarette smoking, some scientists suggested.
The results of this research were conducted by several respectable institutions such as J American University of Madaba and Policlinico Universitario and published in the online medical literature.
According to the statistic, cigarette smoking is the leading cause of preventable disease and death, accounting for more than 480,000 deaths every year, or about 1 in 5 deaths in the US alone.
Green tea is a precious drink that processed a number of health benefits and is known to almost everyone in Asia and the Western world.
In the study to investigate the outcome of cigarette smoking-induced oxidative stress in alternated the cellular antioxidant defense system in facilitated apoptosis in lung tissue, inflammation and damage in rat model random assigned into four groups, sham air (SA), cigarette smoke (CS), CGT 2% plus SA or plus CS, through an experiment carried out as a single daily dose (1 cigarette/rat) for a period of 90 days, using an electronically controlled smoking machine, researchers found that
* Long-term exposure to cigarette smoking catalyzed the balance of the ratio of free radicals and antioxidant defense in the tested body, leading to overexpression ROS in precipitated cytotoxicity to lung tissue and induced the production of proinflammatory cytokines.
* Lung injury and damage due to smoking are observed through the 24-hour collection after the last CS exposure from histology and all enzyme assays.
* Lung cell apoptosis is evidenced by the fragmentation of DNA in the TUNEL assay.
Application of green tea CGT demonstrated a significant recovery of all pathophysiological and biochemical events expressed from above, particularly, in the treatment group given CGT infusion as a drink instead of water.
After taking into account other co and confounders Dr. Al-Awaida W, the lead researcher said, " Exposure of albino rat model to cigarette smoke caused oxidative stress, altered the cellular antioxidant defense system, induced apoptosis in lung tissue, inflammation, and tissues damage, which could be prevented by supplementation of CGT".
Moreover, oral administration of green tea bioactive polyphenols Epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG)
in tested Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into four groups, sham air (SA), 4% CS, 2% Lung Chen tea plus SA or 4% CS with SA or 4% CS carried out for 1h/day for 56 days in ventilated smoking chambers, exerted
* A significant effect in reduced airspace enlargement and goblet cell hyperplasia associated with asthma caused by 56-day CS exposure alone
* A strong effect in restoring the balance of antioxidants produced by EGCG and the host natural defense and reactive oxygen species, through suppressing levels of oxidative stress caused by CS.
Additionally, according to the Policlinico Universitario in the study to evaluate the green tea extract risk of pleurisy, a lung disease caused by inflammation of the tissue layers (pleura) lining the lungs and inner chest wall induced by carrageenan, application of green tea extract reduced fluid accumulation in the pleural cavity containing many neutrophils (PMNs), an indication of inflammation.
These results were attributed to green tea's property in reduced immune response in initiated and increased production of proinflammatory cytokines such as nitrite/nitrate, tumor necrosis factor-alpha, and ICAM-1 inactivated NF-κB in the cellular response to stimuli and increased the expression of adhesion molecules as well as overexpression of and poly (ADP-ribose) synthetase (PARS) and nitrotyrosine formation.
Nitrite/nitrate are food preservatives added to food to prevent bacteria from growing. Dietary consumption of nitrates is associated with an increased risk of cancer(4).
The chemical compounds may induce cell cytotoxicity if taken in some amounts.
Truly, serum of nitrite/nitrate is in high levels in patients with inflammatory diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and osteoarthritis, according to BMJ journals(5).
Tumor necrosis factor is a cell signaling protein (cytokine) that plays an important role in systemic inflammation of the acute phase reaction. Overexpression of tumor necrosis factor can result in tissue damage and apoptosis to nearby healthy cells.
ICAM-1 (Intercellular Adhesion Molecule 1) plays an essential role in the immune response in facilitating direct inflammatory expression.
Poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) is a family of proteins involved in a number of cellular processes. Overexpression of PARP may alter cellular DNA in the induction of the early stage of carcinogenesis(6).
An increase in nitrotyrosine and impairment of antioxidant defense systems are associated with patients with inflammatory diseases such as diabetes. But in smoke exposure, nitrotyrosine formation is an indication of lung cell apoptosis.
D. Chan KH, the lead author in the final phase of analysis, suggested that green tea extract exerts a protective effect and offers a novel therapeutic approach for the management of lung injury.
The findings suggested that green tea, its extract, and bioactive polyphenols EGCG may be considered functional foods in the protection of lung tissue injury, damage, and cell death due to long-term exposure to cigarette smoking.
However, further data collection on studies performed with human consumption during the course of the investigation will be necessary to complete the picture of its protective effect on the lung in exposure to cigarette smoking.
Intake of green tea supplements should be taken with extreme care as acute liver toxicity was reported in a number of the case in the medical literature.

#Application of #FennelSeed #MethanolicExtract Inhibits the Risk Of Cancers Throught Their Antioxidant Activities, According to Studies
Kyle J. Norton
Fennel may have a potential and positive effect on the induction of cytoprotection and antitumor activity against cancer expression, some scientists suggested.
The results were reported by several respectable institutes including the National Cancer Institute and the National Institute of Health.
Cytoprotection is a natural process by which certain chemical compounds isolated exhibit protection to cells against harmful agents, including bacteria, viruses, and toxicity,...
Antitumor activity is also a process in inhibited cell growth irregularly and uncontrollably. Tumors can be benign or invasive.
Malignant tumors have the ability to travel outside of the original site to infect nearby tissue or organs. Depending on the stage of invasive cancer, early discovery is one most important factors in the increased chance of survival.
According to a statistic from Canary Foundation, cancer strikes about 1 in 3 women and 1 in 2 men in the U.S. and more than 560,000 die each year due to cancers.
The five years of survival rate of breast and prostate in the early stage of discovery is close to 100%.
Fennel (Foeniculum vulgare) is a plant species of the genus, belongings to Apiaceae (Umbelliferae), native to the Mediterranean, used in traditional and herbal medicine as a warming, carminative, antispasmodic, antidepressant agent and to stimulate the appetite, ease indigestion, soothe coughing, reduce intestinal spasms, to regulate the menstrual cycle and relieve PMS,...
In an aim to evaluate the efficacy of fennel seed methanolic extract (FSME) for its antioxidant, cytotoxic, and antitumor activities and for its capacity to serve as a nontoxic radioprotector, researchers at the National Cancer Institute, Cairo, launched an investigation in Swiss albino mice through injection of FSME, 100 mg/kg intraperitoneally into mice bearing EAC before exposed to three 2-Gy doses of gamma irradiation.
During the 30 days of the experiment, researchers found that the application of fennel seed methanolic extract (FSME) exerts a strong effect at the C50 (mean standard deviation 50% inhibitory concentrations) at a dose of 50 μg/mL and 48 μg/mL in inhibited the proliferation of the MCF7 breast cancer cell line and Hep-2 liver cancer cell line, respectively.
The treatment group also displayed a decreased level of MDA and improved natural antioxidants produced by the tissues of the host compared to an elevation of MDA and significantly reduced levels of catalase and Glutathione (GSH) contents in the control.
Malondialdehyde (MDA) is a highly oxidative compound and is considered a marker of oxidative stress.
Catalase is a common enzyme and antioxidant produced by the host with the function in inhibited free radical expression through de-composited hydrogen peroxide to water and oxygen.
Glutathione (GSH) is also an antioxidant enzyme with the function in inhibited overexpression of reactive oxygen species and their' chain reaction.
Reduced levels of natural antioxidants produced by the host tissue show a strong effect in the imbalance of the ratio of antioxidants and free radical expression in the induction of early development of oxidative-related diseases.
These results suggested that fennel seed methanolic extract (FSME) ameliorated the overproduction of ROS caused by ingestion of doses of gamma irradiation through its antioxidants and enhanced antioxidant production of the mice tissue via the ratio of ROS and Antioxidants.
In other words, the application of the fennel extract may have the potential in
* Reduced oxidative stress and protected mouse cells from damage caused by reactive oxygen species.
* Improved natural antioxidants and oxidative stability of fatty foods during storage.
* Exhibited an antitumor effect by modulating lipid peroxidation and augmenting the antioxidant defense system in EAC-bearing mice with or without exposure to radiation.
A further illustration of the effect of whole food fennel in the treatment of cancers and examination of the cytoprotective effects, researchers at the National Institute of Health conducted a comparison of five herbal supplements, designated FB, FM, PP, HF, and FBL101, which contain different combinations of various natural herbs such as licorice, black cohosh, Dong Quai, false unicorn and vitex berry root against mice bearing CWR22R and PC3 prostate cancer xenografts.
According to the results of the experiment,
* All herbal medicine, FB, FM, PP, HF, and FBL101 inhibited PC3 tumor growth by 53%, 75%, 80%, 81%, and 87%, respectively.
* In CWR22R tumors, the application of all supplements exerted a similar effect in the suppression of cancer cell proliferation.
* All applications did not show inhibitory activity against levels of testosterone in compared to untreated mice.
However, supplements PP and FBL101 exerted a significantly reduced VEGF level, a potent angiogenic factor with function in the stimulated production of new blood vessels to ensure cell proliferation, in PC3 and CWR22R tumors.
* Intratumoral microvessel density was decreased in PC3 tumors treated with all five supplements but only in CWR22R tumors treated with HF.
Dr. Ng SS, the lead author said, "Herbal supplements containing the aforementioned extracts inhibit the growth of prostate tumor xenografts, possibly in part by antiangiogenic mechanisms".
The above differentiation was supported by the Quaid-i-Azam University in the analysis of the antibacterial potential of some medicinal plants against multi-drug resistant (MDR) pathogens and the anticancer effect against the MCF-7 cell line.
According to the results of the report, application of whole food fennel and fennel ethanol extract exhibited significant inhibition of cancer cells proliferation, induction of cancer cell apoptosis, and reduction of growth of Klebsiella pneumonia, Serratia marcescens, and Methicillin-resistant S. aureus. Pseudomonas aeruginosa
Taken together, fennel and its extracts may be used as a functional food in the exertion of cytoprotection and antitumor activity.
However, further data collection on studies performed with human consumption during the course of the disease will be necessary to complete the picture of its cytoprotection and antitumor possibilities.
Intake of fennel extracts should be taken with extreme care, as overdoses may cause acute liver toxicity.

#Yoga Practice Shows a Statistically Significant in Decreased #Anxiety Levels By Decreasing Physiological and Psychological Arousal
Kyle J. Norton
People who participated in yoga classes are likely to experience less or lower levels of anxiety and in some cases, may have the best chance of letting go of anxiety through the reduction of stress implications, some studies suggested.
Yoga, the ancient technique for harmonized external and internal body well-being, through breath control, meditation, bodily movement, and gesture..... has been best known to people in the Western world and some parts of Asia due to health benefits reported by various respectable institutes research and supported by health advocates.
Anxiety is a mental disorder characterized by worry about future events and fear of current events.
People experience anxiety differently. Some people feel a sudden moment of anxiety just a bad feeling, it comes and goes, only lasting a short time. Depending on how people cope with moments of anxiety, the events can be brief or last a few days.
However, in some persons, if anxiety does not go away, they may require treatment from related field specialists.
If you are frequently experiencing symptoms of nervousness, restlessness, or being tense feelings of danger, panic, or dread rapid heart rate rapid breathing, or hyperventilation,..... you may have developed an anxiety disorder.
In the evaluate the yoga effect in reduced levels of anxiety, Dr. Bernardi ML and colleagues launched an investigation of 45 mastectomized women treated at the Ilza Bianco outpatient service of Santa Rita de Cássia Hospital in the Brazilian state of Espírito Santo from March to November 2010.
Selected women were assigned to 6 yoga-applied sessions.
At the end of the experiment periods, researchers found that the yoga treatment group shows a statistically significant in decreased anxiety levels measured by Anxiety Trait and State Test.
Anxiety Trait and State Test is a psychological inventory of 40 self-report items used for testing of anxiety effect with an aim to measure anxiety at both poles of the normal effect curve known as state vs. trait.
Further analysis also suggested that the reduced level of anxiety in participants was attributed to decreasing physiological and psychological arousal such as the heart rate, blood pressure, relaxation and calmness, and easing respiration.
Moreover, women in the yoga group at the end of the lessons also found it less stressful compared to the beginning of the class.
In other words, yoga participants have successfully learned how to manage stress, thus reducing the risk of anxiety in response to mental or emotional strain.
Truly, regular yoga exercise including breathing technique, and meditation not only provides participants a positive mind in a maintained state of calmness and relaxation in the deal with such events without getting restless and confused but also enhances recovery from anxiety.
Some yoga instructors suggested that the technique of yoga practice including mindfulness also reduces the production of the stress hormone cortisol and brought back the present moment while letting them go or dealing with them in a profound way.
Indeed, yoga postures and deep breathing have been shown to ameliorate the overexpression of nerve neurons in the transmitted information of sensation, stress, and suffering, thus reducing the risk of anxiety.
Dr. Bernardi ML, the lead author of the study said, "hatha yoga exercises decrease stress and anxiety in the experimental group. No connection between confounding variables and anxiety and stress levels was found".
Hatha yoga is one form of yoga practice containing physical exercises and breathing control.
More importantly, according to the data collection period and meditation program between January 9 and August 31, 2009, 46 women who were pregnant following IVF, and were between 12-20 weeks gestation, participated in the study (23 experimental groups, 23 control group), women pregnant after IVF participated in yoga class showed statistically significant improvements in stress, anxiety, labor pain, and labor confidence.
In fact, yoga in improvements of stress, anxiety, labor pain, and labor confidence, decreasing physiological and psychological arousal also enhanced women's sense of control and confidence in giving birth as well as staying away from negative thinking about the pregnancy outcome.
IVF is a medical procedure characterized by an egg fertilized outside the mother's womb.
Interestingly, a total of 46 participants completed both a resistance exercise class and a yoga class in a counterbalanced order, researchers suggested that in comparison to the measurement of body satisfaction and social physique anxiety completed immediately before and after each class, yoga participated group displays a greater improvement of body image and reduces the state of social physique anxiety.
In other words, by focusing on breathing, the connection of the mind and body, yoga participants were found to associate with decreased state social physique anxiety by increased body satisfaction.
According to the differentiation of the Journal of Clinical Research & Bioethics a group of patients suffering from chronic diseases participated in yoga class, yoga attendees benefited from the stimulation of immune functions in reduced physical symptoms by improving the expression of human β-defensin 2 (HBD-2), a potent antimicrobial peptide forms part of the innate immune response, .natural killer (NK) cells, and anti-inflammatory cytokines, decreasing stress and/or anxiety symptoms and improving quality of life.
Taken together, yoga may be the best treatment for people with anxiety through the improvement of social, mental, and body confidence in the reduced state of over worries, particularly in people with frequent stress. People who continued yoga practice daily may have the best chance of letting go of anxiety forever.

The Effects of of #Hormones Change On The Risk Of #Dementia in Aging Population, Researchers Say
Kyle J. Norton
About 5-8% of all people over the age of 65 have some form of dementia, and this number doubles every five years above that age.
Dementia is the loss of mental ability that is severe enough to interfere with people's every life and Alzheimer's disease is the most common type of dementia in aging people.
American typical diet contains a high amount of saturated and trans fat, artificial ingredients with fewer fruits and vegetables which can lead to dementia and other kinds of diseases.
As we age, the production of hormone decrease gradually which can affect cognitive function, leading to dementia.
According to Eric R. Braverman, MD in the article of Hormones Dementia, numerous studies have linked hormone supplementation as protective in the development of dementia regardless of whether or not these hormones are deficient but more so when they are deficient.
Growth hormone begins from age 30 in both men and women, estrogen loss beginning at age 40 in women, testosterone loss beginning at age 40 in men and DHEA loss beginning in both men and women at age 50.
The loss of luteinizing and sex-binding globulin hormones may also be associated with the development of dementia with age(1)
Hormone Causes of Dementia
1. Growth hormone
A report at the Universidad de Barcelona, Barcelona showed that there is a physiological decline of the growth hormone (GH)/insulin-like growth factor-I (IGF-I) axis with aging, and the possibility that the GH/IGF-I axis is involved in cognitive deficits has been recognized for several years.
The results of several studies addressing the deficiency of growth hormone (GH) in the induction of dementia include
* Superimposable response of GH to GHRH than the response of GH to GHRH in healthy individuals.
* Blunted GH to GHRH response in AD patients
* Higher GH concentrations in the morning; a greater increase of GH to GHRH in AD patients than in controls(2).
Others reported that evidence favoring this idea stems from the ability of both hormones to stimulate beta-amyloid release from neurons as well as from the stimulatory effect that IGF-I exerts on brain amyloid clearance.
In addition, insulin and IGF-I levels are altered in Alzheimer's patients and, probably in close association with these changes, cell sensitivity towards insulin--and possibly also IGF-I--is decreased in these patients. (3)
2. Estrogen
In the research on the association between decreased levels of estrogen and dementia, the scientists at Kings College London suggested that the positive effects of estrogen are most robust in young women and in older women who had initiated ET around the time of menopause(4).
Other studies supported the hypothesis that estrogen-replacement therapy is associated with a reduced prevalence of Alzheimer's disease in postmenopausal women.
Prospective clinical trials are required to enable women and their physicians to weigh the risks and benefits of estrogen replacement therapy for the prevention of dementia(5)
3. Testosterone
In a study of a group of 28 older men with either subjective memory loss or dementia, researchers found that serum total testosterone and sex hormone binding globulin (SHBG) correlated inversely with plasma levels of amyloid beta peptide 40.
According to the Fremantle Hospital study, lower androgen levels are associated with increased plasma Abeta40 in older men with memory loss or dementia.
These results suggested that subclinical androgen deficiency enhances the expression of Alzheimer's disease-related peptides in vivo(6).
4. DHEA
Kyushu University, in the study of a decreased concentration of dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate (DHEA-S) in patients with Alzheimer's disease (AD), found that patients with AD and patients with CVD were found to have a lower concentration of serum DHEA-S and a lower DHEA-S/DHEA ration compared to normal control individuals.
Also, according to the final report, no significant difference was observed in the concentration of serum DHEA-S or the DHEA-S/DHEA ratio between patients with AD and those with CVD.
These results suggest that reduced concentrations of serum DHEA-S may not be unique to AD, but instead reflect a common phenomenon in dementing diseases(7).
Another study in assessed plasma DHEA and DHEAS levels in AD sufferers (n=72) and compared them to age-matched controls (n=72) showed that Plasma DHEA concentrations are significantly lower in AD patients compared to control (4.24+/-0.4 ng/ml for the AD; 3.38+/-0.3 ng/ml for control, p=0.027, Mann-Whitney 1-tailed)
And DHEA levels are significantly correlated to DHEAS levels in both control and AD conditions (Spearman's rho correlation coefficient=0.635 in controls and 0.467 in the AD, p<or=0.01)(8).
Spearman's rho correlation coefficient is a method used to measure the relationship between two variables using a monotonic function.
5. Sex-hormone binding globulin
There is evidence in the literature suggesting that gonadotropins may be involved in processes in contribute to the etiology/pathogenesis of AD such as inflammation, cholesterol homeostasis, and insulin status.
Here we examine the potential mechanisms by which gonadotropins could influence neurodegenerative processes. (9)
6. Luteinizing hormone (LH)
Some researchers suspected that another hormone of the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis, luteinizing hormone (LH), maybe a major factor in AD parthenogenesis.
In cell culture, LH increased amyloidogenic processing of amyloid-beta protein precursor, and in animal models of AD, pharmacologic suppression of LH and FSH reduced plaque formation.
Given the evidence supporting a pathogenic role for LH in AD, a trial of leuprolide acetate, which suppresses LH release, has been initiated in patients. (10)

[6]-Gingerol Found in #Ginger Alleviates Liver Steatosis, Inflammation, and Reverses Plasma Markers of #MetabolicSyndrome, Researchers Find
Kyle J. Norton
Ginger may have a profound effect in reducing the risk and treatment of hepatic steatosis, the early stage of liver disease, some scientists suggested.
Hepatic steatosis or fatty liver is a condition caused by excess fat accumulated in the liver.
At the early stage of hepatic steatosis, the patient may not experience any symptoms. However, at the condition progress, the condition induces liver inflammation, which may progress to scarring and irreversible damage. Patients at this stage can have symptoms of abdominal swelling, enlarged blood vessels in the skin and spleen accompanied by jaundice.
The most common risk factors are the increase in age, (older than 45 years of age). overweight and obesity and ethnicity.
However, some researchers suggested the coincidence of widespread obesity and the onset of hepatic steatosis might indicate a closed correlation of the e 2 conditions.
Dr. Festi D, the lead author in the finding of the relation between obesity and hepatic steatosis that causes a wide spectrum of liver damage as simple steatosis may progress to advanced fibrosis and to cryptogenic cirrhosis through steatohepatitis launched an investigation to examine the risk of hepatic steatosis in obese patients.
After taking into account Co and confounders wrote, "Obesity is the most significant single risk factor for the development of fatty liver, both in children and in adults; obesity is also predictive of the presence of fibrosis, potentially progressing to advanced liver disease".
The risk of a fatty liver may be associated with insulin resistance in obese patients that play a central role in the accumulation of triglycerides within the hepatocytes and in the initiation of the inflammatory cascade.
Although conventional treatment with insulin-sensitizing agents, anti-oxidants or cytoprotective drugs may be useful, however, they are no randomized clinical trials to support the efficacy.
As of today, there is no direct treatment for hepatic steatosis but relieves the symptoms.
Some researchers suggested modifications in lifestyle (e.g. diet and exercise) to reduce obesity remain the mainstay of prevention and treatment of a disease,
Ginger (Zingiber officinale) or ginger root, the second superfood used for thousands of years by mankind, is the genus Zingiber, belonging to the family Zingiberaceae, native to Tamil.
It has been used in traditional and Chinese medicine to treat dyspepsia, gastroparesis, constipation, edema, difficult urination, colic, etc.
In the finding, a natural whole food that may have a potent to prevent and treat nonalcoholic fatty liver, researchers at the Tajen University, Yanpu Township investigate the effects of [6]-gingerol ((S)-5-hydroxy-1-(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)-3-decanone) in experimental models of the non-alcoholic fatty liver.
[6]-Gingerol (100 µmol/l) inhibited OA-induced triglyceride and inflammatory marker accumulation in HepG2 cells.
In the study of male golden hamsters were dosed orally with [6]-gingerol (25, 50 or 100 mg/kg/day) once daily for 8 weeks after being fed a high-fat diet (HFD) for 2 weeks, injection of [6]-Gingerol (100 mg/kg/day) alleviated liver steatosis, inflammation, and reversed plasma markers of metabolic syndrome in HFD-fed hamsters.
[6]-gingerol also attenuated the expression of inflammatory cytokine genes and nuclear transcription factor-κB (NF-κB) increased in the HFD group.
These results indicated a significant effect of [6]-Gingerol in the attenuation of HFD-induced steatohepatitis by downregulating NF-κB-mediated inflammatory responses and reducing hepatic lipogenic gene expression.
Additionally, in the concern of widespread Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) may reach epidemic proportions, Dr. Sahebkar A. launched a study to evaluate the ginger effect at the "two-stage hypothesis" proposed for the pathophysiology of NAFLD, insulin resistance, oxidative stress and pro-inflammatory cytokines among the key promoters of the disease.
The application of ginger prevents NAFLD or blunts its progression via several mechanisms, such as sensitizing insulin effects, and down-regulates pro-inflammatory cytokines.
Ginger promoted considerable antioxidant effects and antidyslipidemic properties and reduced hepatic triglyceride content which can prevent steatosis.
All these mechanisms suggested that ginger possesses interesting potential for serving as a natural supplement for the prevention and treatment of NAFLD.

#Antioxidant Phenolic and Flavonoid Found in #CayennePeppers Inhibits Oxidative and Inflammation-Related Pathological Processes, Including Airway Inflammation, Scientists Reveal
Kyle J. Norton
Scientists in a number of institutes suggested that cayenne, a kitchen spice may process a significant effect in inhibiting airway inflammation, an important component of asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and various cough syndromes.
Conventional medicine has synthesized the effect of many herbal plants' secondary metabolites, since the discovery of penicillin, the first antibiotic extracted from a very primitive plant, the fungus Penicillium, in 1928, used for the treatment of infection.
For years, the herbalist is suspicious that these plants must contain some substances used together for healing purposes, without knowing the existence of every single ingredient.
Today, under microscopes of new technology, scientists discovered that the effectiveness of herbal plants in the treatment of conditions and diseases is attributed to their's secondary metabolites.
Secondary metabolites are organic compounds, according to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology that serve(7)
* As competitive weapons used against other bacteria, fungi, amoebae, plants, insects, and large animals.
* As metal transporting agents.
* As agents of symbiosis between microbes and plants, nematodes, insects, and higher animals.
* As sexual hormones; and
* As differentiation effectors.
for the survival of the plants producing them,
Following the herbalist food step and using herbal medicine as a fundamental source, conventional medicine has discovered a number of single-ingredient medications, including quinine (from cinchona bark), and morphine (from the opium poppy)......
According to Dr. Stanley F. Malamed, the lead author in the study of causative factors for acute asthma suggestion, "(In acute airway inflammation) Inflammation may occur as a result of either immunologic or nonimmunologic airway insults, which produce airway edema and cause the immigration of inflammatory cells into the lumen through the epithelium "(5)
Chronic airway inflammation can lead to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), a progressive syndrome caused by expiratory airflow limitation as a result of airway remodeling, including an increase in airway smooth muscle (hyperplasia and hypertrophy),......
More importantly, the longer duration of airway inflammation may lower lung function in the induction of the worse bronchial hyperresponsiveness and symptoms(6)
Cayenne is also known as Cayenne Pepper, a red, hot chili pepper, belongings to Capsicum annuum, the family Solanaceae, native to sub-tropical and tropical regions.
The herb or food has been used in traditional medicine to increase metabolism, enhance the circulatory system and stomach and intestinal tract, adjust blood pressure, lower LDL cholesterol and triglycerides, treat frostbite, muscles, arthritis, rheumatism, low back pain, strains, sprains, bruises, and neuralgia, ......., particularly, in treatment of inflammation caused by invasion of microbial organisms and allergens.
The immune system is the set of cells and their activity against antigens or infectious agents that comprises the body's defense system against diseases, including inflammation.
Red pepper (Capsicum baccatum) extracts, according to the study by the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), exerted their anti-inflammatory properties through in inhibiting the neutrophil migration induced by carrageenan (Cg).
In animal studies, the ethanolic and butanol extracts (200mg/kg, p.o.) presented a significant anti-inflammatory activity through their antioxidant phenolic and flavonoid compounds against oxidative and inflammation-related pathological processes, including airway inflammation.
β-Defensin, members of the antimicrobial peptide found in cayenne inhibited the expression of the mRNA of anti-inflammatory cytokine during the bacterial invasion, through stimulating immunomodulatory effects.
Other research suggested that the anti-inflammatory effect induced by red pepper may be by inhibition of pro-inflammatory cytokine production at the inflammatory sites, such as the upper airway.
Regular intake of Cayenne pepper can improve the immune system against microbial infection and reduce the risk of airway inflammation but overdose is found to induce toxicity.

* As metal transporting agents.
* As agents of symbiosis between microbes and plants, nematodes, insects, and higher animals.
* As sexual hormones; and
* As differentiation effectors.
for the survival of the plants producing them,
Following the herbalist food step and using herbal medicine as a fundamental source, conventional medicine has discovered a number of single-ingredient medications, including quinine (from cinchona bark), and morphine (from the opium poppy)......

The Effects of Vitamins on Suppressing the Over Growth of #CandidaAlbican, According to Studies
By Kyle J. Norton
Candida albicans are members of a large group of microorganism whose cells contain complex structures enclosed within the membranes, including yeast(2)(3), fungi(4)(5)(6), and mold(6) that live among the gut flora in the human mouth and gastrointestinal tract.
Non-albicans Candida (NAC) species cause 35-65% of all candidaemias in the general patient population(1).
According to a joint study, in many cases, biofilm(microorganisms with cells sticking to each other on a surface) formation(7) gene mutations(8), and overexpression of genes(9)(10) are often associated with increased candida resistance toward antifungal drugs.
NADPH oxidase (NOX) are enzymes that generate reactive oxygen species by transporting electrons across lipid membranes, to induce cytotoxicity against invading microbes. However, according to the joint study led by Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health, Candida albicans is capable of a ROS burst, using a member of the NOX enzyme family to produce ROS with an aim to drive fungal morphogenesis in the animal host(a).
Vitamin A, B2, C and E as antioxidants and free radical scavengers may have a potential role in inhibited superoxide anion (ROS) radicals caused by overexpression of candida via NADPH oxidase (NOX) enzymes(b).
The Anti Over Growth of Candida Vitamins
1. Vitamin B2
Vitamin B2 required for a wide variety of cellular processes plays a key role in energy metabolism and enhances the digestive system in absorbing nutrients and supports the immune system(230)(231) in fighting against bacteria causes of inflammatory disease, including candida(232).
2. Vitamin C
Vitamin C, a water-soluble vitamin and an antioxidant found in high concentrations in immune cells, is not only important in aiding the digestive system in absorbing nutrients, but also enhances the production of white blood cell(233)(234) of the immune system(235) in protection of the body by binding to the harmful bacteria(236) and ingesting them.
3. Vitamin A
Retinoic acid appears to maintain normal skin health by switching on genes and differentiating keratinocytes (immature skin cells)(237) into mature epidermal cells and helps to detox the liver(238).
The vitamin also enhances the immune system(239)(240) in protecting our body through its antimicrobial functions, including Candida albicans(241).
4. Vitamin E
Vitamin E is fat-soluble compounds included both tocopherols and tocotrienols. It not only is a polyphenol antioxidant (242)(246) in scavenging free radicals and microorganisms, but also promotes the immune system is enhanced functions of B-cells(244)(245), the immune cells(245)(247) in the production of antibodies to destroy infectious agents.
