#Healthyfood #Leeks Gobble Up Breast Cancer Cells in Vitro, Scientists Say

By Kyle J. Norton

Cancer is a class of diseases in which a group of cells grows and multiplies disorderly and uncontrollably in our body.

Breast cancer is a medical and chronic condition caused by cell growth irregularly and uncontrollably in the breast tissue. At the early stage, in most cases, breast cancer starts in the cells of the inner lining tissue of milk ducts (Ductal carcinoma) or the lobules (Lobular carcinoma) that supply the ducts with milk.

At the advanced stage, breast cancer cells caused by the alternation of DNA can travel far away from the primary site to infect other healthy tissue and organs.

Most patients at early may have a lump when touching with no symptoms.

Patients who inherited the genetic preposition of BRCA1 and 2 are associated with over 60% of the risk of breast cancer.

The findings for effective treatments are ongoing with some successes, but the discovery of effective ingredients prevention and treatment of breast cancer with little or no side effects have proven difficult.

Detection of tumorigenesis through self-observation is still the best approach to discovering breast cancer in an early stage.

According to statistics, in 2010, over 250,000 new cases of breast cancer were expected to be diagnosed in women in the US alone and the risk of getting invasive breast cancer during the lifetime of a woman is 1/8.

Genetic preposition, one of the prevalent risk factors associated with the increased risk of breast cancer has been under intensifying study by scientists around the world over a few decades ago, suggested that women who carry the mutated genes BRCA1 and 2 have 60% most likely risk to develop breast cancer before the age of 70.

Another prevalent and most mentioned risk factor associated with the risk of the disease is obesity.

According to statistics, the risk of getting invasive breast cancer during the lifetime of a woman is 1/8.

Leek is a genius of Allium, belonging to the vegetable family vegetable Alliacaea, the same as onion and garlic. Leeks are easy to grow from seed and usually reach maturity in the autumn months, and have few pest or disease problems.

On finding a potential plant that processes anti-cancer activity researchers examined the effects of leek extracts on MCF-7 human breast cancer cells.

According to the crude extracts of ethanol, methanol, and water of leek obtained by maceration that were applied to MCF-7 cells in complete media at 37 °C and subjected to different treatments that involved varying concentrations (10, 50, and 100 μg/mL) of leek extracts for 24, 48, and 72 h of incubation, leeks showed a strong effect on cell viability and the concentration of extracts on MCF-7 cells.

The water leak extract proved to be the most effective extract at 50 μg/mL,

The efficacy of leek was attributed to the significant inhibition ability of the main chemical anandamide A-β-D-glucopyranoside found in the vegetable.

However, the mechanism of phytochemicals associated with the causes of breast cancer cell death was not identified in the study.

Taken altogether, leeks may be considered a functional food for the prevention and treatment of breast cancer, pending the confirmation of the larger sample size and multicenter human study.

#Tomatoes Inhibit the Onset of #HeartDisease by Modulating the Expression of Hormone Angiotensin, Researchers Show

By Kyle J. Norton

Under normal conditions, angiotensin is a type of hormone, belongings to the renin-angiotensin system (RAS), that regulates the constriction of blood vessels and blood pressure.

The hormone also plays a critical role in the retention of sodium by the kidney through its stimulation of the production of aldosterone from the adrenal cortex activated by the nerves (neurological)that is responsible for the desire for salt.

However, overexpression of angiotensin may induce fluid and sodium retention, blood vessels to constrict and increase blood pressure.

Most cases of overproduction of angiotensin have been found in patients with heart failure and an enlarged heart.

On the other hand, underexpression of angiotensin may lead to retention of potassium, reduced levels of sodium and fluid and lower blood pressure.

According to the University of Ferrara, Ferrara, overproduction of angiotensin II the other members of the renin-angiotensin system (RAS), seems to be one of the most aggressive, often causing several principal diseases such as arteriosclerosis, hypertension, coronary artery disease, and heart failure.

Furthermore, angiotensin II also is found to induce vascular damage mediated by the activation of transcription factors, redox signaling systems, and production of endogenous growth factors that lead to an induced immune response in the production of inflammatory cytokines.

Based on the results, researchers found that by reviewing the complexity of the RAS in pathological processes, RAS blockers may provide some mechanistic responses to the beneficial effects in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases.

Tomato is red, edible fruit, genus Solanum, belonging to family Solanaceae, native to South America. Because of its health benefits, the tomato is grown worldwide for the commercial purpose
and often in the greenhouse.

With an aim to find the natural ingredient for the treatment of blood vessel constriction, researchers examined the anti-angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) factors in aqueous extract of tomato.

The study included sugar-free tomato extract (TE) which was tested for its anti-ACE activity using human plasma and rabbit lung pure ACE.

In 100 g tomatoes produced 72.2 ± 4.7 mg of TE used in the experiment, researchers found the extract inhibited plasma ACE activity in a dose-dependent manner.

The TE maximum effect in the inhibition of ACE enzyme was found to be at an IC50 value of 1.40 ± 0.04 mg/ml.
Furthermore, the commercially available sugar-free TE, Fruitflow(®)-2 showed similar amounts of catechin also exerted a similar inhibitory potency against plasma ACE activity.

In order to find more information about tomato anti-ACE activity, researchers examined the effect of lycopene on angiotensin II-induced oxidative stress in H9c2 cells.

In this study, tested H9c2 cells were divided into 6 groups: control group, Ang II group (1 µmol/L), Ang II (1 µmol/L) + low dose Lyc (3.125 nmol/L) group, Ang II (1 µmol/L) + moderate dose Lyc (6.25 nmol/L) group and Ang II (1 µmol/L) + high dose Lyc (12.5 nmol/L) group and Lyc group (12.5 nnmol/L).

Groups treated with lycopene showed significant improvement of cell survival and reduction of ROS generation in a dose-dependent manner compared to control.

Co-treatment of lycopene also reversed the levels of MDA significantly increased in Ang II-treated cells, in a dose-dependent manner.

Furthermore, the levels of a protein associated with oxidative stress caused by the cascade of free radicals found in Ang II-treated cells also inhibited the injection of lycopene.

Based on the finding, researchers said, "Lyc could attenuate Ang II-induced oxidative stress and this effect is linked with its capacity of reducing ROS generation and enhancing cellular ROS scavenging ability in H9c2 cells".

Taken altogether, tomatoes may be considered supplements for the prevention and treatment of angiotensin caused by oxidative stress, pending to the confirmation of the larger sample size and multicenter human study.

Intake of lycopene in the form of supplements should be taken with extreme care to prevent overdose acute liver toxicity.

How #Herbal #Ashwagandha Effects the Body Mass, and Strength in Resistance Training Exercise

By Kyle J. Norton

Body mass calculated by the body mass index (BMI), is a value derived from the mass (weight) and height of a person.
The BMI index = weight (kg)/ height (m2)

Weight loss is a process that intentionally reduces the total body mass, through the decrease of fluid, body fat or adipose tissue or lean mass.

Obesity is a medical condition of excess body fat that has accumulated over time, while overweight is a condition of excess body weight relative to height.

According to the Body Mass Index(BMI), a BMI between 25 to 29.9 is considered overweight, while a BMI of over 30 is an indication of obesity. According to the statistic, 68% of the American population is either overweight or obese.

In North America, over 68% of the US population is either overweight or obese.

Weight loss products is a 66 billion business in the US, according to the statistic provided by the Marketdata LLC research firm. And the business continues to grow at a rapid rate.

Resistance training is a type of exercise associated with the improvement of muscular strength and endurance used most in professional athletics.

The exercise is emphasized to move the limbs against resistance provided by your body weight, gravity, bands, weighted bars, or dumbbells.

Today, most resistance training exercise is performed against exercise machines.

Body strength on the resistance training exercise is a type of workout that focuses on the entire body to build lean muscle tissue and strength.

Ashwagandha also known as Withania somnifera is a nightshade plant in the genus of Withania, belonging to the family Solanaceae, native to the dry parts of India, North Africa, the Middle East, and the Mediterranean.

The herbal medicine has been considered as Indian ginseng and used in Ayurvedic medicine for over 3000 years to treat tumors and tubercular glands, carbuncles, memory loss, and ulcers and considered an anti-stress, cognition-facilitating, anti-inflammatory, and anti-aging herbal medicine.

On finding a potent compound for enhancing the results of resistance training, researchers examined the effects of ashwagandha root extract consumption on muscle mass and strength in healthy young men engaged in resistance training.

The randomized, prospective, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical study included 57 young male subjects (18-50 years old) with little experience in resistance randomized into treatment (29 subjects) consumed 300 mg of ashwagandha root extract twice daily and placebo (28 subjects) groups consumed starch for 8 weeks.

Compared to the placebo subjects, the group treated with ashwagandha had significantly greater increases in muscle strength on the bench-press exercise and the leg-extension exercise and significantly greater muscle size increase in the arms.

Furthermore, the Ashwagandha treatment group also showed a significant increase in muscle size in the chest.

Furthermore, the Ashwagandha treatment group also reduced the risk of exercise-induced muscle damage by stabilizing the serum creatine kinase and increasing the production of testosterone levels. compared to the control.

Most importantly, compared to the control, the Ashwagandha treatment group demonstrated a significantly greater decrease in body fat percentage.

Based on the findings, researchers said, "Ashwagandha supplementation is associated with significant increases in muscle mass and strength and suggests that ashwagandha supplementation may be useful in conjunction with a resistance training program".

Taken altogether, Ashwagandha may be considered a functional herb that increases body mass and strength in resistance training, pending the result of a larger sample size and multicenter study

Betaxanthins Balance the Ratio Between the Antioxidants and Free Radicals in The Body, Researchers Say

By Kyle J. Norton

Antioxidants are stable atoms that inhibit oxidation caused by free radicals.

Antioxidants besides being produced by the body, they can also come into the body from dietary sources, including second metabolites found in fruits and vegetables.

Free radical scavengers are types of antioxidants that inhibit free radicals before they can induce a chain of reactions, leading to the onset of oxidative stress.

Oxidative stress associated with chronic disease is caused by a long-term imbalanced ratio of free radicals and antioxidants. Oxidative stress has been found epidemiologically to induce proteins, lipids, and cellular damage, a major cause of heart disease, stroke, and diabetes.

Not all free radicals are bad, in a moderate amount, free radicals are necessary for the body's functioning, including the promotion of heart function in blood circulation.

In a healthy individual, antioxidant enzymes produced by the liver are more than enough to counter the expression of free radicals induced by cell metabolism and the environment such as the air we breathe and the food we eat.

However, for people with a weakened immune system, intake of antioxidants from outside sources such as fruits and vegetables can be helpful.

The most common types of free radical scavengers produced by the human are catalases that protect the cell from oxidative damage by decomposed hydrogen peroxide to water and oxygen, glutathione peroxidase, a cytosolic enzyme produced by the body that dissolves hydrogen peroxide to water and oxygen, and peroxide radicals to alcohols and oxygen, and superoxide dismutase (SOD) that dissolves superoxide radical into either ordinary molecular oxygen or hydrogen peroxide.

Dr. V. Hajhashemi, the lead scientist wrote, "Free radicals are produced continuously in the cells as part of normal cellular function, however, excess production might play a role in the pathophysiology of many disease conditions, including cancer, Alzheimer's disease, atherosclerosis and some of the drug-induced toxicity".
And, " Many basic research studies and observational epidemiologic studies in humans suggest that antioxidants can prevent oxidative damage".

Betaxanthins are Phytochemicals in the class of red and yellow indole-derived pigments, belonging to the group of Betalains, found abundantly in beets, Sicilian prickly pear, etc.

On finding a potent ingredient for the prevention of heart diseases associated with oxidative stress, researchers investigated the effects of beetroot juice (BTJ) and whole beetroot (BF) on high blood pressure.

The randomized, crossover design study included a total of 10 healthy males who consumed either 250 ml of BTJ, 300 g of BF, or a placebo drink.

According to the sample analysis,
* Trolox equivalent antioxidant capacity (TEAC) was 11.4 ± 0.2 mmol/L for BTJ compared to 3.4 ± 0.4 μmol/g of BF.

* Both BTJ and BF contained a number of polyphenols (1606.9 ± 151 mg/GAE/L and 1.67 ± 0.1 mg/GAE/g, respectively)

* Betaxanthins exerted a TEAC of 41.7 ± 0.7 mg/indicaxanthin equivalents/L and 7.5 ± 0.2 mg/indicaxanthin equivalents/100 g, respectively compared to betacyanins of 68.2 ± 0.4 mg/betanin equivalents/L and 19.6 ± 0.6 mg/betanin equivalents/100 g, respectively.

* Betanin contains the highest TEAC in both BTJ (~194 mg) and BF (~66 mg), betanin could not be detected in the plasma at any time point post-ingestion compared to other chemical compounds.

In other words, beetroot juice (BTJ) and whole beetroot (BF) showed high levels of antioxidants associated with increasing plasma NOx bioavailability.

Taken altogether, betaxanthins second to betacyanins may be considered an antioxidant remedy for the inhibition of free radicals, pending the confirmation of the larger sample size and multicenter human study.

#Bromelain Maybe a Better Treatment for the #RheumaticDisease with No Side Effects, Compared to #NSAID, According to Studies

By Kyle J. Norton

Rheumatism or rheumatic disorder is a group of medical conditions associated with chronic, often intermittent pain that affects the joints and/or connective tissue.

The most common symptoms of rheumatism are joint pain, loss of motion in a joint or joints, and low-grade inflammation that causes swelling, redness, and warmth in a joint or affected area.

The most common types of rheumatism are
* Osteoarthritis (OA), a form of arthritis, is a condition of aging-induced wear and tears on a joint, affecting over 25 million people in the US.

* Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic disorder associated with inflammation, affecting mostly the flexible (synovial) joints and tissues and organs in the body. RA affects more women than men and generally occurs after the age of 40, causing the diminished quality of life of many elders.

* Gout mostly affected one joint and is an acute and recurrent condition of arthritis caused by uric acid building up in the blood, inducing joint inflammation.

* Fibromyalgia, according to the American College of Rheumatology 1990 Criteria for the Classification of Fibromyalgia in the newly proposed criteria for the classification of fibromyalgia are 1) widespread pain in combination with 2) tenderness at 11 or more of the 18 specific tender point sites(a) as a result in responding to pressure.

* Polymalagia arthritis is a condition of inflammatory rheumatic disease which causes pain, stiffness, and tenderness in large muscles, including muscle shoulders and pelvic girdle.

* Lupus is an autoimmune disease, caused by the immune system overreaction that attacks its tissues, causing inflammation, swelling, pain, and damage.

* Juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) is the type of arthritis that occurs in children with symptoms of persistent joint swelling, pain, and stiffness

Bromelain, a proteolytic enzyme found in pineapples (Ananas comosus) has been used in traditional medicine as an inflammatory agent and to treat pains, strains, muscle aches and pains and ease back pain and chronic joint pain, skin diseases, etc.

On finding a potential compound for the treatment of arthritis, researchers examined the effect of an oral enzyme-combination product (OE; Phlogenzym, containing trypsin, bromelain, and rutin) in the treatment of rheumatic diseases.

The retrospective cohort study with parallel groups was to compare the efficacy of enzyme combinations to those of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID).

According to the data of 3326 patients treated for rheumatic diseases in which 2139 patients were treated either only with OE or only with NSAID, between January 1993 and the end of March 1995 registered by 380 physicians, both treatments yielded similar results.

However, there was a 50% higher success rate in OE than for NSAID, compared to the initial and treatment situations.

OE also scored higher stratification according to propensity score.

Furthermore, in treatment duration of more than 30 days and joint diseases or fibromyalgia in age over 50 years, pre-treatment with antirheumatic or analgesic drugs showed significant negative effects in patients' response compared to those of OE.

Additionally, according to the aforementioned and other indicators associated with freedom from symptoms, OE exerted an expectation compared to NSAID treatment.

The results strongly support the use of the oral enzyme-combination product (OE; Phlogenzym, containing trypsin, bromelain, and rutin) for the treatment of rheumatic disease instead of NSAIDs

Dr. Wittenborg A, after taking other factors into account, wrote in the final report, "OE were well tolerated showing much less adverse events when compared with conventional doses of NSAID".

Taken altogether, bromelain combined with conventional medicine may be considered a remedy for the prevention and treatment of rheumatic disease, pending the confirmation of the larger sample size and multicenter human study.

Intake of bromelain in the form of supplements should be taken with extreme care to prevent overdose acute liver toxicity.

#Herbal #Fennel Extract, A Potential Herbal Medicine in Reducing the Onset and Treatment of #ProstateCancer, Scientists Find

By Kyle J. Norton

Fennel may have potential and positive effects in reduced risk, progression, and treatment of prostate cancer, some scientists suggested.

Prostate cancer is a chronic condition characterized by abnormal growth of prostate tissue. At he later stage, the cancerous cells may travel a distance away to infect other healthy cells and tissues.

Fennel (Foeniculum vulgare) is a plant species of the genus, belongings to Apiaceae (Umbelliferae), native to the Mediterranean, used in traditional and herbal medicine as a warming, carminative, antispasmodic, antidepressant agent and to stimulate the appetite, ease indigestion, soothe coughing, reduce intestinal spasms, to regulate the menstrual cycle and relieve PMS,...

In the study to investigate the effect of 5 herbal medicine in different quantities in some different formulas represented by FB, FM, PP, HF, and FBL101 on the risk of prostate cancer, including licorice, black cohosh, Dong Quai, false unicorn, and vitex berry root extracts, fennel seed extract, researchers at the National Institute of Health found that FB, FM, PP, HF, and FBL101 inhibited PC3 tumor growth by 53%, 75%, 80%, 81%, and 87%, respectively.

In an androgen-independent human prostate cancer cell line CWR22R, all 5 formulas also inhibited the cancer cell proliferation without alternating levels of testosterone.

However, the administration of formula PP and FBL101 showed a significantly reduced VEGF level with function in the stimulated formation of new blood vessels in initiated proliferation in PC3 and CWR22R tumors.

Furthermore, intratumoral microvessel density measurement in the expression of tumor growth with aggressive tumor behavior was decreased in PC3 tumors treated with all five supplements but only in CWR22R tumors treated with HF.

Dr. Ng SS, after taking into account other cofounders said, "Herbal supplements containing the aforementioned extracts inhibit the growth of prostate tumor xenografts, possibly in part by antiangiogenic mechanisms".

These results demonstrated that fennel extract and other herbal components may be considered as preventive and therapeutic agents for the treatment of prostate cancer without indicating the efficacy of the individual herb.

The above differentiation was supported by the study of Alexandria University in the evaluation of anethole, a major constituent of Foeniculum vulgare (fennel) essential oil, a widely used folk medicine for the treatment of prostate cancer.

According to the experiment, the application of the bioactive compound anethole exerted a strong activity against proliferation, clonal growth, and migration of PC-3 cells, through the generation of ROS in the induction of cytotoxicity through damage to the DNA of the cancer cells.

Additional analysis of the efficacy, the application also stimulated the penetration of essential oil anethole in permeabilization of the mitochondrial and lysosomal membranes of PC3 cancer cells in the induction of cancer cells death, executed by caspase-3 and -9 pathways and PARP cleavage in the induction of apoptosis.

Interestingly, injection of anethole isolated from fennel essential oil also induced elevation of the Bax/Bcl-2 protein ratio, in initiated the onset of prostate cancer cell death through cell cycle arrest.

Further observation of anethole action, researchers found that anethole inhibited prostate cancer cells through cell cycle arrest in the G2/M phase ameliorated by levels of cyclins D1, CDK-4, and c-Myc proteins in promoted cancer cell cycle progression and enhanced production of levels p21 and p27 in exhibited tumor suppressible activity.

Finally, anethole also suppressed NF-κB protein in the activated production of TNF-α in the induction of anti-apoptosis in prostate cancer cells.

Taken together, the findings strongly suggested that long-term intake of fennel and its bioactive anethole may have substantial implications in the prevention and treatment of prostate cancer. But intake of fennel supplement should be taken with care to prevent acute liver toxicity.

#Turmeric, the Herbal Medicine in Reducing the Risk of #CognitiveDysfunction, Researchers Say

By Kyle J. Norton

Scientists may have found a herbal spice that processed bioactive ingredients for the treatment of neuro-disorder with no side effects, according to studies.

Neuroprotection is an action involved in the use of a natural substance to protect the integrity and viability of neurons against damage or death.

Neurodegenerative diseases are a class of conditions associated with the progressive loss of neurons in the brain caused by several mechanisms, including toxicity and oxygen deficiency.

The most common disease associated with neurodegenerative diseases is dementia, a cluster of conditions including Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, and Huntington’s disease.

The disease has been found to negatively influence the body's functioning, including balance, movement, talking, breathing, and heart function.

There are many risk factors that cause the onset of the progressive death of brain neurons. Genetic preposition, medical condition, such as alcoholism, brain cancer, or a stroke in the brain.

A prolonged period of toxins, and toxic chemicals accumulated that affect brain function also have a strong impact to induce the onset of the disease.

Out of many factors, some researchers suggested that the prevalence of obesity may process some negative implications in stimulating the rise of neurodegenerative disease in older adults in the Western world.

Dr. Daniel Shalev, the lead scientist wrote, "So how does obesity or diabetes contribute to a 50% increase in the risk of dementia?".

And, "Many of the same processes that affect coronary arteries and visceral organs also impact the brain. Inflammation leads to the activation of microglia and astrocytes. This causes the release of cytokines and reactive oxidants, ultimately leading to neuronal dysfunction or death. Critically, this process can unleash a vicious cycle: dying neurons can cause more inflammation, thereby creating a cascade of neurodegeneration".

The findings strongly suggested if you are obese, your risk of dementia is substantially higher compared to non-obese individuals.

Turmeric is a perennial plant in the genus Curcuma, belonging to the family Zingiberaceae, native to tropical South Asia.

The herb has been used in traditional medicine as an anti-oxidant, hypoglycemic, colorant, antiseptic, and wound healing agent, and for the treatment of flatulence, bloating, appetite loss, ulcers, eczema, inflammations, etc.

With an aim to find a natural compound that processes neuroprotective activity, researchers evaluated the neuroprotective effects of extracts from the radix of C. aromatica (ECAs, Turmeric) on free radical damage cells.

The study included the model of oxidative stress damage (H2O2-damaged PC12 cells) induced by injection of 400 µM H2O2.

Compared to ECAs at the same doses, 95% EtOH extract (HCECA) and 75% EtOH extract (MCECA) from turmeric showed markedly the increase in the rate of neuron survival and enhancement of the antioxidant enzyme activities via the inhibition of the level of ROS.

In other words, 95% EtOH extract (HCECA) and 75% EtOH extract (MCECA) from turmeric exerted better neuron-protective and antioxidant activity than of ECAs.

Furthermore, the 95% EtOH extract (HCECA) and 75% EtOH extract (MCECA) also attenuated the intracellular Ca2+ overloading in the induction of psychiatric overtones, such as depression, anxiety, cognitive dysfunction and decreased the activation of proteins and matrixes involved cell apoptosis, similar to those of ECAs.

The efficacy of the 95% EtOH extract (HCECA) and 75% EtOH extract (MCECA) against the degeneration of neurons was attributed to the presence of the active compound diarylheptanoids.

Based on the finding, researchers wrote, "These findings indicated that the effects of HCECA and MCECA on inhibiting the cells damage induced by H2O2 in PC12 are better than other extracts from the radix of C. aromatica".

In order to reveal more information about turmeric neuroprotective effects, researchers evaluated the effects of curcumin against nicotine-induced apoptosis, oxidative stress, and inflammation in an animal model.

This study included 60 adult male rats divided randomly into six groups. Group 1 received 0.7 ml/rat normal saline, and group 2 received 6 mg/kg nicotine. Groups 3, 4, 5, and 6 were treated concurrently with nicotine (6 mg/kg) and curcumin (10, 20, 40, and 60 mg/kg i.p. respectively) for 21 days.

According to the Open Field Test (OFT), curcumin-treated groups (40 and 60 mg/kg) reduced nicotine-induced motor activity disturbances.

Before the injection of curcumin nicotine treatment showed an increase in lipid peroxidation observed by the overexpression of ROS, proinflammatory cytokines, and protein associated with neuron apoptosis in the hippocampus.

Furthermore, nicotine also reduced the activity of antioxidant enzymes in the tested rats in the hippocampus.

Injection of curcumin reversed all alternation by attenuating nicotine-induced apoptosis, oxidative stress, and inflammation; and elevating the levels P-CREB and BDNF associated with the improvement of cognitive function,

Taken altogether, turmeric and its bioactive compounds, particularly curcumin may be considered a supplement for the protection of neuron integrity, pending the confirmation of the larger sample size and multicenter human study.

Intake of turmeric in the form of supplements should be taken with extreme care to prevent overdose acute liver toxicity.
