Whole Food Honey, the Best for the Prevention and treatment of Chronic Ulcers

By Kyle J. Norton

Chronic ulcers are a medical condition in which the infected and tissue damage of areas with skin loss that take a long time to heal. In some people, the opened wound has no tendency to heal themselves.

There are many causes of chronic ulcers. However, some researchers suggested that disease associated with prolonged high pressures in the veins of the leg with the open wound, as a result, involved abnormalities at different locations in the venous system.

Aging, family history, diseases associated with arteries, occupation associated with standing for long periods of time, being overweight or obese and inactivity are some of the most common risk factors that increase the risk of chronic ulcers.

Most patients with chronic ulcer experience symptoms of swelling, heat, and inflammation and pain in the affected area, and brown pigmentation of the skin near the ankles. If you have some of the aforementioned problems, please check with your doctor to rule out the possibility.

Some researchers suggested chronic ulcer risk has also been associated with people who smoke.

Dr. Jodi C. McDaniel, in the examination of smokers in the risk of chronic ulcers, wrote, "Evidence-based guidelines for treating venous leg ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers, and pressure ulcers, the 3 main categories of chronic wounds, focus primarily on biologic therapies".

And, "However, there are also evidence-based guidelines for treating behavioral risks to poor healing, such as smoking, which should be incorporated into treatment plans when appropriate"
Honey, the rich golden liquid is the miraculous product made by bees using nectar from flowers.

The liquid is considered one of the healthy food for replacing the use of white sugar and artificial sweetener by many people.

With an aim to find a natural therapy for the treatment of chronic ulcer with no side effects, researchers investigated the use of medical honey on healing times and complications in patients with venous leg ulcers after split-skin grafting.

The study included 6 patients with chronic venous leg ulcers who underwent split-skin grafting followed by the application of medical honey at the vascular unit of University Hospital Aintree in Liverpool.

According to the results, the healing time was 22 days with no complications.

In order to reveal more information about honey anti chronic ulcer property, researchers assessed the powder formulation for the delivery of manuka honey (MH) bioactive components and platelet lysate (PL) in chronic skin ulcers.

Two different fractions of MH were included in the study: one (Fr1), rich in methylglyoxal and the other (Fr2), rich in polyphenols.

Particles were loaded with Fr1, fraction enhance the proliferation of human fibroblasts.

Furthermore, Fr1-loaded particles markedly increased wound healing to the same extent compared to other groups.

Taken altogether, honey may be considered functional remedies for the treatment of chronic ulcers with no side effects, pending to the confirmation of large sample size and multicenter human study.

Bioactive Compound Betanin Kills Chronic Myeloid Leukemia Cells in Vitro

By Kyle J. Norton

Chronic myeloid leukemia  (CML) is a medical condition associated with the overgrowth of immature cells started in the blood-forming cells of the bone marrow.

In other words, compared to normal cells which will die after a limited cell division, chronic myeloid leukemia cells continue to divide with no meaning of dying or stopping, leading to proliferation that affects other healthy cells in the bone marrow.

At the advanced stage, chronic myeloid leukemia cell can leak to the bloodstream, leading to secondary metastasis, depending on the infected tissues and organ.

According to the statistics provided by the American Cancer Society, in 2019, approximately, 8,990 new cases will be diagnosed with CML (5,250 in men and 3,740 in women. and CML is expected to cause the death of 1,140 people including 660 men and 480 women.

More precisely, CML accounts for 15% of all cases of leukemia diagnosed each year. In other words, the lifetime risk of CML in the US is 1 person in 526.

The 5-year survival rate of patients treated with chemo drug imatinib (Gleevec®) including all stages of CML is 90%.

Although the increased with age and male gender are 2 of factors involved in the onset of the condition, some researchers suggested genetic proposition also plays a critical role in increasing risk
of CML.

The Bethesda (MD): National Center for Biotechnology Information (US); 1998, wrote in the book of "Genes and Disease", "A mouse model has been created that develops a CML-like disease when given bone marrow cells infected with a virus containing the BCR-ABL gene. In other animal models, the fusion proteins have been shown to transform normal blood precursor cells to malignant cells".

And, "To research the human disease, antisense oligomers (short DNA segments) that block BCR-ABL were developed that specifically suppressed the formation of leukemic cells while not affecting the normal bone marrow cell development. These and other experimental techniques may lead to future treatments for CML".

The findings suggested that people with certain gene mutation are prone to the development of CML compared to those do not.

Betanin is Phytochemicals in the class of red and yellow indole-derived pigments of Betacyanins, belonging to the group of Betalains, found abundantly in beets, chard, etc.

In the urgency to find natural ingredients for the treatment of chronic myeloid leukemia, researchers investigated the antiproliferative effects of betanin, a principle betacyanin pigment, on the human chronic myeloid leukemia cell line (K562).

Administration of betanin decreased the proliferation of K562 cells with an IC(50) of 40 microM in a dose and time-dependent manner.

According to the scanning and transmission electron microscopy, betanin induced cancer cell death by the pro-apoptotic characteristics of chromatin condensation, cell shrinkage and membrane blebbing.

Chronic myeloid leukemia cell line (K562) treated by betanin also showed fragmentation pattern typical for apoptotic cells.

Observed by the flow cytometric analysis, cancer cells treated with 40 microM of betanin showed 28.4% of cells in sub G0/G1 phase, an indication of cell cycle arrest.

According to the confocal microscopic studies, betanin inhibited the expression of the chronic myeloid leukemia cell line (K562)by gaining entry directly into the cells.

Based on the finding, researchers suggested that betanin induced chronic myeloid leukemia cell line (K562) death within the cell such as inducing the release of cytochrome c from mitochondria into the cytosol.

Taken altogether, betanin may be considered supplements for the prevention and treatment of chronic myeloid leukemia, pending to the confirmation of the larger sample size and multicenter human study.

Intake of betanin in the form of supplement should be taken with extreme care to prevent overdose acute liver toxicity.

Herbal Turmeric Eradicates Pancreatic Cancer Cells

By Kyle J. Norton

The pancreas formed part of the digestive symptoms processed the function in secreting insulin and other important enzymes and hormones that help break down food.
In other words, the pancreas secretes pancreatic juice to the small intestine, that breaks down carbohydrates, proteins, and lipids and hormone insulin to convert glucose into energy for the needs of cell metabolism.

More precisely, exocrinally, pancreas promotes digestion and endocrinally, pancreas regulates blood glucose.

Traditional Chinese medicine view pancreas as a vital organ is responsible for the absorption of foods' qi and nutrients before passing them to nourish the body organs.

Pancreatic cancer is a condition characterized by abnormal cell growth in the tissue of the pancreas.

Most cases of pancreatic cancers start in the ducts (an exocrine component of the pancreas) that carry pancreatic juices. The epithelium originated in glandular tissue accounts for over 75 - 90% of all cases of pancreatic cancer.

According to the statistics provided by the American Cancer Society, in 2019, estimated 56,770 American, including 29,940 men and 26,830 women will be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. The disease also will cause of death of 45,750 people, including 23,800 men and 21,950 women.

Believe it or not, pancreatic cancer accounts for about 3% of all cancers in the US and about 7% of all cancer deaths.

Conventionally, treatment of the pancreatic cancer is totally depending on
* The grade
The Grades of pancreatic cancer are depending on the tendency of spreading. Low-grade cancers usually grow more slowly and are less likely to spread while high-grade cancer indicates otherwise.

* The stage such as localized, organ colonization, a distance of spreading and
*  The size of the tumor

Turmeric is a perennial plant in the genus Curcuma, belonging to the family Zingiberaceae, native to tropical South Asia.

The herb has been used in traditional medicine as anti-oxidant, hypoglycemic, colorant, antiseptic, wound healing agent, and to treat flatulence, bloating, and appetite loss, ulcers, eczema, inflammations, etc.

On finding a potential compound for the treatment of pancreatic cancer, researchers investigated the effects of curcumin and its analogs EF31 and UBS109 on pancreatic cancer (PC).

According to the tested assays in vitro, MIA PaCa-2 or PANC-1 cells exposed to curcumin and its analogs significantly impaired angiogenesis.

Furthermore, EF31 and UBS109 blocked the vascularization of subcutaneous matrigel plugs associated with pro-angiogenic molecules developed by MIA PaCa-2 in mice in vivo.

Additional examining the anti-angiogenesis of the EF31 and UBS109, researchers found that the inhibition of MIA PaCa-2 or PANC-1 cells was attributed to the significant inhibition of VEGF, angiopoietin 1, angiopoietin 2, platelet-derived growth factor,... involved in the formation of the new blood vessel.

Furthermore, EF31 and UBS109  also inhibited the growth of the tumor cells by inhibiting genes involved in the tumor growth, and anti-apoptosis.

Based on the findings, researchers said, " these results suggest that UBS109 and EF31 are potent curcumin analogs with antiangiogenic activities".

Moreover, the joint study led by the Guizhou People's Hospital also suggested that
* Curcumin inhibited cell growth, enhanced apoptosis, induced cell cycle arrest and retarded cell invasion in pancreatic cancer cells.

* The protein (Cdc20) associated with the interaction in cell cycle division was inhibited by the administration of curcumin in pancreatic cancer cells.

In other words, the overexpression of Cdc20 in enhancing cell proliferation and invasion, and abrogated the cytotoxic effects was significantly attenuated by curcumin in pancreatic cancer cells.

Taken altogether, turmeric processed abundantly bioactive compound curcumin may be considered supplements for the prevention and treatment of pancreatic cancer, pending to the confirmation of the larger sample size and multicenter human study.

Intake of turmeric in the form of supplement should be taken with extreme care to prevent overdose acute liver toxicity.

Onion, the Natural Anti Ovarian Cancer Functional Food

By Kyle J. Norton

Cancer is the class of chronic disease caused by irregular cell growth in the tissue or specific organ in the body due to the alternation of cell DNA.

The ovaries are oval-shaped ovum-producing reproductive organ formed part of women reproductive system that connects to the fallopian tubes and attaches to the outer layer of the uterus via the ovarian ligament. Usually, the left and right ovary take a turn to release an egg every month.

Ovarian cancer is medical a condition characterized by abnormal cells growth of ovarian cells that start on the surface of the inner lining of the ovary. Over time, the oversize tumor can travel a distance away to infect the nearby organ and tissue via the fluid and blood circulation.

According to the statistics, ovarian cancer is one of the fifth most common cancer, accounting for more deaths than any other cancer of the female reproductive system in the US.

The lifetime risk of getting ovarian cancer is a woman is about 1 in 78.comapred to the lifetime of dying from ovarian cancer risk of 1 in 108.

Primary ovarian cancer can be classified into
* Epithelial Ovarian Cancer
The epithelial ovarian tumor is a type of cancer arisen from the cell on the surface of the ovary. Epithelial ovarian tumor is the most common form of ovarian cancer accounts for over 90% of ovarian cancer of all cases, including serious tumor, endometrioid tumor, and mucinous cystadenocarcinoma.

* Germ cell ovarian cancer
Germ cell ovarian tumor is a censer of the egg-producing cells within the ovary. Most germ cell ovarian cancer occur in children and teens as a result of birth defects.

*Sex cord-stromal ovarian cancer
Sex cord-stromal ovarian tumor is cancer arisen from the cell on the tissue of the ovary accounted for 8% of ovarian cancers. Most cases of sex cord-stromal ovarian cancer are found in the older age group.

The onion is a plant in the genus Allium, belongings to the family Alliaceae, a close relation of garlic. It is often called the "king of vegetables" because of its pungent taste and found in a large number of recipes and preparations spanning almost the totality of the world's cultures.

Depending on the variety, an onion can be sharp, spicy, tangy, pungent, mild or sweet.

On finding a potential compound for the treatment of ovarian cancer, researchers examined whether
Onionin (ONA) had a therapeutic anti-ovarian cancer effect using in vitro and in vivo.

According to the tested assays,
* ONA reduced the extent of ovarian cancer cell proliferation induced by co-culture with human macrophages.

* Furthermore, ONA also directly suppressed cancer cell proliferation.

* In combined with anti-cancer drugs, ONA significantly improve the efficacy of the drug involved in cell proliferation and chemoresistance in ovarian cancer cells.

* Moreover, the administration of ONA also suppressed ovarian cancer progression and prolonged the survival time in a murine model under single and combined treatment conditions.

Based on the findings, researchers said, "ONA is considered useful for the additional treatment of patients with ovarian cancer owing to its suppression of the pro-tumor activation of TAMs and direct cytotoxicity against cancer cells".

Taken altogether, onion processed abundantly Onionin (ONA) may be considered a remedy for the prevention and treatment of ovarian cancer, pending to the confirmation of the larger sample size and multicenter human study.

Phytochemical Betanin Isolated From Beetroot, the Potential Anti-Hyperglycemia Remedy

By Kyle J. Norton

Hyperglycemia is a condition characterized by abnormally high levels of blood glucose.

In patients with diabetes, hyperglycemia is a condition of poor control of blood glucose caused by a number of reasons, including unhealthy diet,  not using enough insulin and medication.

Hyperglycemia is also a hallmark of people with type 1 and 2 diabetes and prediabetes.

In some cases, the condition also occurs in patients who have not injected insulin properly and taken certain medication such as steroids.

Diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) or hyperglycemic hyperosmolar nonketotic syndrome occurred mostly in patients with type 1 diabetes is suddenly and severely elevated glucose levels that require medical emergency

Regardless of the causes, long-term hyperglycemia in diabetics has been found to induce serious diabetics complications, such as cardiovascular disease, neuropathy, and nephropathy, particularly in eye and foot damage that lead amputation and blindness, respectively.

Believe it or not, hyperglycemia can also happen to people without diabetes caused by the intake of certain medication such as androgen blockers, cardiovascular drugs, especially statins and medical condition including stress, illness or infection.

Most common symptoms of hyperglycemia include increased thirst and frequent urination.

Other patients may also experience symptoms of blurred vision, hunger and headaches due to elevated levels of glucose in the blood.

If you have experienced some of the aforementioned symptoms, you may have hyperglycemia, please check with your doctor to rule out the possibility.

Some researchers suggested by maintaining a healthy lifestyle with moderate exercise and followed by diabetic management, most cases of hyperglycemia in patients with diabetes and prediabetes are preventable.

Dr. Fritha Morrison, the lead scientist said, "Comparing patients with face-to-face counseling rates of once or more per month versus less than once per 6 months, median time to A1C <7.0% was 3.5 versus 22.7 months, time to blood pressure <130/85 mmHg was 3.7 weeks versus 5.6 months, and time to LDL cholesterol <100 mg/dL was 3.5 versus 24.7 months, respectively (P < 0.0001 for all)".

And, "Lifestyle counseling in the primary care setting is strongly associated with the faster achievement of A1C, blood pressure, and LDL cholesterol control. These results confirm that the findings of controlled clinical trials are applicable to the routine care setting and provide evidence to support current treatment guidelines".

Betanin is phytochemicals in the class of red and yellow indole-derived pigments of Betacyanins, belonging to the group of Betalains, found abundantly in beets, chard, etc.

On finding a natural compound to reduce risk diabetics complications, researchers examined betanin antihyperglycemic activity.

Selected rats in the study were induced diabetes by a single intraperitoneal (i.p.) injection of streptozotocin (45 mg/kg b.w.) dissolved in 0.1 M citrate buffer (pH 4.5) 15 min after the i.p. administration of nicotinamide (110 mg/kg b.w.).

Before injection of betanin, diabetic rats revealed significant (p < 0.05) increase in the levels of glucose, and parameters associated with hyperglycemia (HbA1C, hexose, hexosamine, sialic acid and fucose) in the plasma accompanied by the decrease in the levels of plasma insulin, hemoglobin (Hb) and sialic acid associated with liver and kidney damage.

Injection of co-supplementation of betanin and glibenclamide to diabetic rats for the period of 30 days restored all levels of plasma and tissues glycoprotein components.

In other words, betanin combined with glibenclamide protected the tested animal against the onset of hyperglycemia and the risk of diabetic complications.

In order to reveal more information about betanin antihyperglycemic activity, researchers determined whether betanin (a natural pigment) is protective against hyperglycemia in streptozotocin (STZ) - nicotinamide (NA) induced diabetic rats.

Experient rats induced diabetes mellitus by injected with STZ (40mg/kgb.w.) 15 mins after the administration of NA (110mg/kgb.w.) by intraperitoneal (i.p.) 30days and after 72h, the diabetic rats were treated with betanin orally at a doses of 10, 20 and 40mg/kg b.w., respectively in a dose-dependent manner and glibenclamide (600μg/kgb.w.).

Among the three doses, 20mg/kgb.w. of betanin showed a similar protective effect against the rise of plasma glucose by increasing the enzyme involved in keeping the glucose concentration low and promoting continuous transport of glucose into the cell through the plasma membrane transporters and decreasing the enzyme involved in gluconeogenesis.

In other words, betanin exerted significantly antihyperglycemic effect by restoring the levels of carbohydrate metabolic key enzymes to near normal in diabetic rat.

Interestingly, according to the immunohistochemical assay, betanin treated diabetic rats showed increased insulin immunoreactive β-cells in the pancreas.

Taken altogether, betanin may be considered supplements for the prevention and treatment of hyperglycemia, pending to the confirmation of larger sample size and multicenter human study.

Intake of betanin in the form of supplement should be taken with extreme care to prevent overdose acute liver toxicity.

Herbal Turmeric Protects Diabetics Against Poor Wound Healing, According to Studies

By Kyle J. Norton

Diabetic poor wound healing has been found to induce ulcer in patients who have not controlled and managed the levels of blood glucose well.

In other words, if you are diabetes, your risk of food ulcer is increased substantially, particularly in those who have long-term untreated hyperglycemia.

Diabetes is a medical condition caused by insufficient insulins in the bloodstream to convert blood glucose to energy. Most cases of diabetes are caused by a gradually reduced number of pancreas's beta cells in the production of insulin or insulin receptor sites clogged up by either fat or cholesterol.

Diabetes can also be a result of autoimmunity in which the immune system mistakenly attacks and kill the beta cells as seen in type 1 diabetes.

Wound healing is the process to repair the wound after injury or damage through many stages, including the acute phase of infection.

In traditional Chinese medicine, diabetes mellitus is a condition of the depletion-thirst disease, characterized by polydipsia, polyphagia, polyuria, and emaciation as a result of
1. Overeating causes of damage of spleen and stomach
2. Emotion effects anxiety, anger, mental depression, etc. such as causes of the liver qi stagnation
3. Intemperance in sexual life or congenital essence defect causes of the kidney qi deficiency.

Depending on the differentiation in the location of depletion-thirst disease, untreated diabetes can induce diabetic foot ulcer or vision loss.

By changing lifestyle with moderate exercise and following closely to the direction of the medication intake, diabetes complications, including wound healing are prevetable.

In the urgency to find a potential ingredient for the prevention of diabetic complications, researchers examined the effect of curcumin-loaded mixed polymeric micelles based on chitosan, alginate, maltodextrin, pluronic F127, Pluronic P123, and tween 80 on diabetic wound healing.

The developed formulation reduced the elevated blood glucose level and lipid profile (total cholesterol, triglycerides) in tested subjects without affecting the body-weight, HDL cholesterol level, various biochemical parameters.

Furthermore, the curcumin-based formulations also significantly accelerated the wound healing process.

Moreover, injection of the developed formula displayed a favorable inhibitory effect to the histopathological changes of liver, kidney, and pancreas.

Based on the findings, researchers said, "The newly developed curcumin-based formulations have proved superior therapeutic potential and excellent healing efficacy, compared to standard drugs and pure curcumin".

In order to reveal more information of curcumin anti-diabetic complication activity, scientists herbal products effect on the molecular concept of wound healing occurring in different stages with special emphasis to DM.

NF3 (Chinese 2-Herb Formula), Zicao, Jing Wan Hong ointment, mixture of Adiantum capillus-veneris, Commiphora molmol, Aloe Vera, and henna, Aleo vera, Phenol-rich compound sweet gel, Jinchuang ointment, San-huang-sheng-fu (S) oil, Yi Bu A Jie extract, Astragali Radix (AR) and Rehmanniae Radix (RR), Yiqi Huayu, Tangzu yuyang ointment, Shengji Huayu recipe, Angelica sinensis, Lithospermun erythrorhison, Hippophae rhamnoides L., Curcuma longa, and Momordica charantia showed a strong effect on the speedup of wound healing in diabetics

Taken altogether, turmeric used alone or combined with other herbal medicines may be considered supplements for the speedup diabetic wound healing process, pending to the confirmation of the larger sample size and multicenter human study.

Intake of turmeric in the form of supplement should be taken with extreme care to prevent overdose acute liver toxicity.

Herbal Artichoke, the Natural and Potential Treatment of Diabetes

By Kyle J. Norton

Diabetes is a medical and condition caused by insufficient insulin entering the bloodstream to regulate the glucose. The disease is either caused by cells in pancreas died off or receptor sites clogged up by fat and cholesterol.

The hallmark of diabetes is hyperglycemia associated with abnormally high blood glucose. Early detection of autoantibodies against beta cells markers can be helpful for the treatment of type 1 diabetes.

In type 2 diabetes, diagnosed abnormal metabolites as potential markers were found to benefit the severity of various clinical complications.

The exact causes of type 1 diabetes are unknown. Researchers cannot explain why the immune system in some patient choose to destroy the insulin-producing (islet, or islets of Langerhans) cells in the pancreas.

Although there are many risk factors associated with the onset of type 2 diabetes such as genetic preposition and lifestyle, some researchers suggested that the incidence of obesity in the Western world may have a strong implication on type 2 diabetes developing.

Dr. Abdullah S Al-Goblan, the lead scientist, in the investigation of the mechanism linking diabetes mellitus and obesity, wrote, "The pathogenesis in the development of diabetes is based on the fact that the β-islet cells of the pancreas are impaired, causing a lack of control of blood glucose".

And, "The development of diabetes becomes more inevitable if the failure of β-islet cells of the pancreas is accompanied by insulin resistance. Weight gain and body mass are central to the formation and rising incidence of type 1 and type 2 diabetes".

Therefore, if you are obese, your risk of type 1 and 2 are higher compared to healthy weight individuals.

Artichoke is a perennial thistle of Cynara cardunculus species of the Cynara genus, belonging to the family Carduoideae native to Southern Europe around the Mediterranean.

The herbal plant has been used in traditional medicine for as a liver protective and detoxified agent, and to treat digestive disorders, abdominal pain gas and bloating, etc.

In the course to find a natural remedy for the treatment of type 2 diabetes, researchers examined the Jerusalem artichoke (JA) effects on lipid disturbance and insulin resistance in an animal model.
Wistar rats selected to the study were fed a control diet, a 60 % fructose-enriched diet (FRU), or an FRU with 10 % JA (n 6-7) for 4 weeks.s

Rats group treated with FRU resulted in IR and hepatic triacylglycerol (TAG) accumulation.

Additional injection of  10% JA  not only reverse the alternation IR and hepatic triacylglycerol (TAG) accumulation but decreased the expression of proteins associated with the production of inflammatory cytokines induced by FRU.

The results of JA efficacy was attributed to modulate the expression of proteins, malic enzyme 1 (Me1) involved in lipid synthesis, decorin (Dcn) related to the development of fibrosis and others genes associated with inflammation.

The results clearly suggested that through molecular mechanisms, JA processes a significant effect in the prevention of type 2 diabetes and nonalcoholic liver disease.

Dr, the lead scientist wrote in the final report, "10 % JA supplementation may be beneficial for the prevention of the onset of these diseases (type 2 diabetes and nonalcoholic liver disease) diseases".

In order to reveal more information about artichoke anti-diabetes activity, researchers evaluated the effect of supplementation with a Jerusalem artichoke and fermented soybean powder mixture on blood glucose and oxidative stress levels.

The additional randomized, double-blinded, placebo-controlled study included 60 subjects with impaired fasting glucose (IFG), impaired glucose tolerance (IGT), or newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes.

The selected subjected were randomly assigned to either a group that ingested 40 g of a Jerusalem artichoke and fermented soybean powder mixture (19.45 g each) daily or a group that received a placebo for 12 weeks.

Subjects treated with the Jerusalem artichoke and fermented soybean powder mixture showed a significant reduction of the levels of fasting glucose, glucose at 60 min and glucose areas under the response curve (AUC).

Furthermore, the group treated with the mixture also improved the insulin resistance, according to assay.

The mixture also was found to inhibit the expression of oxidative stress observed by the changes (Δ) in the urinary 8-epi-PGF2α index.

Moreover, the glucose at 60 min, 120 min, and AUC, FFAs at 0 min and AUC of the mixture treated group demonstrated a potential anti-diabetes property compared to the non-treatment group.

Taken altogether, JA may be considered a functioning remedy for the prevention and treatment of type 2 diabetes, pending to the confirmation of larger sample size and multicenter human study.
