* XYS reversed these metabolite changes in terms of regulating dysfunctions in glyoxylate and dicarboxylate metabolism, fatty acid biosynthesis, valine, leucine and isoleucine biosynthesis, and arginine and proline metabolism.

Cancer is the class of diseases associated with the growth of the cells disorderly and uncontrollably due to the alternation of DNA.

Most cases of cancer begin in the cells on the surface of the inner lining tissues of the organ or gland. At the early stage, most cancers are asymptomatic.

However, at the advanced stage, most cancers not can induce common symptoms such as gastrointestinal discomforts, unintended weight loss, loss of appetite and fatigue but also localized symptoms depending on the affected tissues and organs.

The American Cancer Society wrote, "Cancer may also cause symptoms like fever, extreme tiredness (fatigue), or weight loss. Because cancer cells use up much of the body’s energy supply, or they may release substances that change the way the body makes energy from food. Cancer can also cause the immune system to react in ways that produce these signs and symptoms" and " Sometimes, cancer cells release substances into the bloodstream that cause symptoms that are not usually linked to cancer".

Angelica or Dang Qui is a herb of Genus Angelica from the family Apiaceae, indigenous to China.

The herb has been used as a Queen herb in traditional Chinese medicine antispasmodic and vasodilatory agent, and to balance the hormones in women for a normal menstrual cycle and menstruation and strengthen heart, spleen, kidneys, and liver for both men and women, etc. In other words, it is used to treat gynecological ailments, fatigue, mild anemia, and high blood pressure. It has analgesic, anti-inflammatory, etc.

According to the experimental results,

* Danggui users were found to have an increased survival rate when compared with Danggui nonusers (log-rank test p = 0.002).

* The use of Danggui highly associated with decreased mortality (the adjusted hazard ratio (HR) of Danggui user was 0.72 [95 % CI, 0.57-0.92] (p = 0.009).

* The in vitro results showed that BP inhibited gastric cancer cell proliferation, and triggered cellular apoptosis depending on the activation of the mitochondrial apoptotic pathway.
* According to the RNA-seq analysis, BP induced an increase of REDD1 expression that inhibits mTOR signaling, thus inhibiting gastric cancer growth.

* BP suppressed the growth of AGS xenografts tumor in vivo.

Based on the results, researchers suggest, "Danggui can prolong the survival rate of gastric cancer patients in Taiwan. BP caused gastric cancer cell death through the activation of mitochondria-intrinsic pathway and induced the REDD1 expression leading to mTOR signal pathway inhibition in gastric cancer cells".

Taken altogether, Dandelion may be considered anti-cancer activity, pending to the confirmation of the larger sample size and multicenter human study.
