#Cucumber Prevents Colonic Inflammation and Improves Digestive Functioning, Scientists Show

Kyle J. Norton

The gut microbiome made up of trillions of microorganisms is the bacterial composition found in the gut of the digestive tract.
In a healthy individual, the ratio of the bacterial composition is balanced. In other words, the bad bacteria in the digestive tract is totally countered by the presence of good bacteria.

However, the imbalanced ratio of the composition of the gut microbiota has been associated with chronic diseases ranging from inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), obesity, and allergic disorders, in both human and animal models.

Believe it or not, gut microbes have been found to influence many aspects of human health including immune, metabolic, and neurobehavioural traits.

In immunity, the balance of the gut microbes is shown to stimulate the immune function against inflammatory immune disorders.

Digestively, balanced gut microbes protect the gut against gastrointestinal diseases and non-gastrointestinal diseases. caused by overexpression of bad bacteria.

In metabolism, gut microbes influence what the human host is able to extract from its diet, such as nutrients, thus reducing the risk of obesity and obesity complications.

Neurologically, gut microbiota can control brain insulin signaling and metabolite levels that play a critical role in neurobehaviors.

Some researchers suggested, that there are huge benefits that influence the function of the brain, immunity, heart, and digestive system and reduce the risk of chronic diseases and conditions such as diabetes and metabolic syndrome by maintaining a good ratio of the gut microbiome.

The cucumber plant is a species of Cucumis Sativus, belonging to the family Cucurbitaceae and native to Western Asia. It is a creeping vine with roots in the ground and grows with the support of frames.

To discover a natural ingredient for balancing the ratio of microbiota composition, researchers investigated and evaluated cucumber phytochemical compositions along with their potential gut microbiota modulating, free radical scavenging, and anti-inflammatory capacities.

Seed flour extracts from cucumber enhanced the total number of gut bacteria by altering the abundance of specific bacterial phylum or genus in vitro.

In other words, cucumbers improved digestive functioning by enhancing the ratio of microbiota compositions in the gut.

Compared to broccoli and carrot seed flour extracts, cucumber seed extract showed the least effect in DPPH radical scavenging capacity, oxygen radical absorbing capacity, and hydrdoxyl radical (HO•) scavenging capacity values of 85, 634, and 270 μmol Trolox equivalent (TE)/g.

In the tested J774A.1 cells, cucumber suppressed the LPS-induced production of pro-inflammatory cytokines.

The results strongly suggested that the administration of Cucumis prevented colonic inflammation and improved digestive functioning by changing the gut microbiota composition.

To reveal more information about cumber in the improvement of gut microbiota, composition researchers examined Cucumis melo L. (Cucumis) on obesity-induced IR in genetically leptin-deficient Lepob/Lepob mice.

According to the tested assays, Cucumis improved IR and relieved inflammation in adipose tissue and blood which led to the balance of the ratio of microbiota composition.

Dr. Lee D, the lead scientist after taking into account co and confounders wrote, "administration of Cucumis improved IR by reducing inflammation, thereby changing the gut microbiota composition".

Taken together, fermented cucumber may be used for the treatment of digestive dysfunction by improving the ratio of gut microbiota composition, pending the confirmation of the larger sample size and multicenter human study.

#Onion's #Quercetin inhibits Parameters Associated with the Risk of #Hypertension In the Induction of #Cardiovascular Disease, Researchers Say

Kyle J. Norton

Hypertension is a condition of abnormally high blood pressure in the bloodstream. Hypertension a member of the cluster conditions of metabolic syndrome associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular disease and diabetes.
Blood pressure is the force of blood pushing against the walls of the arteries as the heart pumps out blood.

According to the statistics provided by the American Heart Association, approximately, 103 million U.S. adults have high blood pressure, or 1 in 2 adults in the US have the syndrome.

Obesity is a medical and chronic condition caused by long-term excessive body fat accumulated. Overweight is a condition of excess body weight relative to height.

According to the Body Mass Index(BMI), people who have a BMI between 25 to 29.9 are considered overweight and a BMI of over 30 is an indication of obesity.

The formula of the BMI indexBMI= weight (kg)/ height (m2)

According to the statistics, 68% of the American population is either overweight or obese. However,
in 2016, more than 1.9 billion adults, 18 years and older, were overweight, including over 650 million who were obese worldwide.

Bad eating habits, unhealthy lifestyles, and certain medical conditions such as kidney disease, diabetes, and sleep apnea not only induce overweight and obesity but also increase the risk of high blood pressure.

Dr. Shu-Zhong Jiang, the lead scientist wrote, "The imbalance between energy intake and expenditure is the main cause of excessive overweight and obesity. Technically, obesity is defined as the abnormal accumulation of ≥20% of body fat, over the individual's ideal body weight".

And, "Excessive overweight remains among the most neglected public health issues worldwide, while obesity is associated with increased risks of disability, illness, and death. Cardiovascular diseases, the leading cause of mortality worldwide, particularly hypertension and diabetes, are the main illnesses associated with obesity".

The results strongly suggested that obesity not only is associated with hypertension but also is a major contributor to the risk of other chronic diseases.

The onion is a plant in the genus Allium, belonging to the family Alliaceae, closely related to garlic. It is often called the "king of vegetables" because of its pungent taste and found in a large number of recipes and preparations spanning almost the totality of the world's cultures.

Depending on the variety, an onion can be sharp, spicy, tangy, pungent, mild or sweet.

In finding a potential compound for the inhibition of hypertension, researchers examined the effects of polyphenol quercetin in pre-hypertension and stage I hypertension in overweight and obese individuals.

The double-blinded, placebo-controlled cross-over trial included 70 Subjects randomized to receive 162 mg/d quercetin from onion skin extract powder or placebo for 6 weeks separated by a 6-week washout period.

According to tested assays and compared to the baseline,
* The group treated with quercetin did not significantly show an effect on 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure (ABP) parameters and office BP in the hypertensives subgroup.

* However, quercetin decreased 24 h systolic BP by -3·6 mmHg (P=0·022) compared to placebo.

* Furthermore, quercetin treatment significantly decreased day-time and night-time systolic BP in hypertensives without alternating vasoactive biomarkers such as endothelial function, parameters of oxidation, inflammation, lipid, and glucose metabolism in the total and hypertensive subgroup.

Based on the findings, researchers said, " supplementation with 162 mg/d quercetin from onion skin extract lowers ABP in patients with hypertension, suggesting a cardioprotective effect of quercetin".

In other words, supplementation with 162 mg/d quercetin from onion skin extract protects the heart against CVD by normalizing the blood pressure in hypertensive patients through unknown mechanisms.

Taken together, onion may be considered a remedy for the prevention and treatment of liver alcoholic cytotoxicity pending the confirmation of the larger sample size and multicenter human study.

#Kimchi #Extracts (Fematneted Cabbage) Inhibit Genes Associated with the Risk of Colorectal Cancer, Researchers Suggest

Kyle J. Norton

Colorectum formed part of the secretory system including the large intestine and the rectum is the second part of the digestive system involved in the absorption of water from the small bowel contents and breaks down of certain materials in the feces into substances of which some of them to be reabsorbed and reused by the body.

The colon formed part of the large intestine plays a critical role in re-absorbing fluids and processing waste products from the body for elimination.

The colon consists of four parts: descending colon, ascending colon, transverse colon, and sigmoid colon

The rectum or the part of the large intestine nearest the rectum plays a temporary storehouse for feces.

Colorectal cancer is a medical condition caused by irregular cell growth in the tissue of the colon or rectum.

Most cases of colorectal cancer start in the cells on the surface of the inner lining in the colon and rectum, before penetrating into deeper layers to form a tumor through proliferation.

Colorectal cancer is relatively very common and slowly growing and progresses cancer in a predictable way.

The disease is more common in people over the age of 50. Regular colonoscopy after the age of 50 is valuable to detect the disease in the early stage, thereby increasing the rate of survival.

According to the statistics provided by the American Cancer Society, colorectal cancer, including cancer in the colon or rectum is the third most commonly diagnosed cancer and the second leading cause of cancer death in men and women combined in the United States.

In 2019, approximately 101,420 new cases of colon cancer and 44,180 new cases of rectal cancer will be diagnosed in the US.

The 5-year survival rate of colorectal cancer diagnosed at the localized stage is 90%. Sadly, only 39% of patients are diagnosed at this early stage.

Cabbage is a species of Brassica oleracea belonging to the family Brassicaceae (or Cruciferae), native to the Mediterranean region along the seacoast. The veggie has a short stem with a crowded mass of leaves, usually green but in some varieties, it may be red or purplish.

On findings a natural wholefood for the prevention of cancer, researchers examined the effects of commercial kimchi (CK), standardized kimchi (SK), cancer-preventive kimchi (CPK), and anticancer kimchi (ACK), on colorectal carcinogenesis in mice.

Male BALB/c mice induced colon cancer with a single intraperitoneal injection of azoxymethane (AOM, 10 mg/kg body weight) and subsequent treatment with 2% dextran sulfate sodium (DSS) in drinking water for 7 days for two cycles.

According to the experimental analysis.
* Treatment with the methanolic extracts from different kimchis, particularly 1.89 g/kg of ACK, significantly increased colon length, decreased the ratio of colon weight/length, and resulted in the lowest number of tumors compared with the other kimchi-treated groups.

In other words, the kimchi extract protected the colonic cells against the alternation of DNA.

* Injection of ACK was able to suppress AOM- and DSS-induced colonic mucosal damage and neoplasia.

* ACK also significantly decreased the mRNA levels of proinflammatory cytokines (TNF-α, IL-6, and IFN-γ) as well as the mRNA and protein expression of inducible nitric oxide synthase and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) to induce protein, lipid, and cell DNA damage.

* More importantly, kimchi extract enhanced the tumor-suppressive genes on AOM- and DSS-induced colorectal carcinogenesis in the BALB/c mice.

Based on the results, researchers wrote, " The anticancer effects of ACK were particularly potent. Thus, it is possible that the health-promoting sub-ingredients added to ACK might be used to prevent colon carcinogenesis in humans".

Taken together, cabbage may process anti colorectal activity, pending to the confirmation of the larger sample size and multicenter human study.

#Ginger's 6-Gingerol Inhibits Resistance Proteins Associated with the Onset of Psychological Stress, Scientists Say

Kyle J. Norton

Scientists may have found a pungent spice that improves fat and glucose metabolism under stress, according to studies.
Psychological stress is the expression of emotion and physiology when events happen to an individual going beyond his/her coping ability.

However, the coping resources for coping with the stress of each individual are quite different. Some can cope better than others when dealing with the same unfortunate events.

Psychologic stress was found to induce physiologic responses, leading to physical symptoms and disease. In some cases, the impacts of psychological stress can result in the worsening of individuals' medical conditions.

According to epidemiological studies, chronic psychological stress can cause symptoms of anxiety and nervousness, panic attacks, physical sensations of anxiety, tendencies to predict the worst, conflict avoidance, muscle tension, tremors, headaches, and low/excessive motivation.

If you have experienced some of the above symptoms, you may have chronic psychological stress, please make sure you check with your doctor to rule out the possibility.

Some researchers suggested that psychological stress can increase or decrease the production of certain hormones, causing a significant change in one life physically and psychologically, if the change has become chronic.

Dr. Salam Ranabir, the lead scientist in examining the stress impacts on hormones, said, "In the modern environment one is exposed to various stressful conditions. Stress can lead to changes in the serum level of many hormones including glucocorticoids, catecholamines, growth hormone, and prolactin"

And, " Some of these changes are necessary for the fight or flight response to protect oneself. Some of these stress responses can lead to endocrine disorders like Graves’ disease, gonadal dysfunction, psychosexual dwarfism, and obesity. Stress can also alter the clinical status of many preexisting endocrine disorders such as precipitation of adrenal crisis and thyroid storm".

These results suggested clearly that people under long-term stress are susceptible to the onset of abnormal hormone-related diseases and syndromes.

Ginger (Zingiber officinale) or ginger root, the second superfood used for thousands of years by mankind, is the genus Zingiber, belonging to the family Zingiberaceae, native to Tamil.

The root has been used in traditional and Chinese medicine for the treatment of dyspepsia, gastroparesis, constipation, edema, difficult urination, colic, etc.

Researchers on finding natural ingredients for the improvement of fat and glucose metabolism examined the effects of individual spices including ginger physiological responses to high-fat meals.

These results strongly suggested that a meal containing a high antioxidant spice blend attenuates postprandial lipemia by 30% compared to a low-spice meal through the influence of acute psychological stress on fat metabolism.

A 2 x 2, randomized, 4-period crossover design in 20 healthy but overweight adults, researchers compared the effects of 14.5 g spices (black pepper, cinnamon, cloves, garlic, ginger, oregano, paprika, rosemary, and turmeric) vs. placebo incorporated into a high-fat meal (1000 kcal, 45 g fat), followed by psychological stress (Trier Social Stress Test) vs. rest on postprandial metabolism.

According to the blood sample collected at baseline and at 105, 140, 180, and 210 minutes for analysis of triglycerides, glucose, and insulin, the levels of serum triglycerides, glucose, and insulin were elevated following the meal.

Application of spices, including ginger reduced post-meal triglycerides by 31% followed by the rest condition (p = 0.048), however, this effect was not presented during stress.

Furthermore, the significant increase in acute stress of the tested subjects also had a strong impact on negating the activity of spice on levels of glucose or insulin.

Moreover, The spice blend and several of the individual spices dose-dependently inhibited PL and PLA2 activity in vitro.

Phospholipase (PL) and Phospholipase A2 (PLA) are associated with the development of stress and inflammation.

Dr. the lead scientist after taking into account co and confounders said, "Spices may attenuate postprandial lipemia via inhibition of PL and PLA2. However, the impact of psychological stress negates any influence of the spice blend on triglycerides, and further, increases blood glucose and insulin".

The finding strongly suggested ginger showed no effects in inhibiting triglycerides and modulating the levels of glucose and insulin in people who are under constant psychological stress.

Interestingly, in order to reveal more information about ginger against psychological stress, researchers evaluated the activity 6-gingerol on C. elegans.

The bioactive compound 6-gingerol was isolated from the most active ethyl acetate soluble fraction of ginger and showed an elevated survival rate of worms against stressful environments including thermal, osmotic, and oxidative conditions.

The results were attributed to the 6-gingerol activity in the elevated antioxidant enzyme activities of C. elegans, in the reduction of intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS) accumulation in worms in a dose-dependent manner.

More importantly, the injection of 6-gingerol demonstrated that the increased stress tolerance of 6-gingerol-mediated worms could result from the promotion of stress resistance proteins such as heat shock protein (HSP-16.2) and superoxide dismutase (SOD-3).

Taken together, ginger exerted significant antioxidative stress through its bioactive compound compared to no effects in modulating triglycerides, blood glucose, and insulin if a person is under acute psychological stress.

#Healthyfood #Cabbage Induces Cytotoxicity of Endometrial Cancer Cells, According to Researchers

Kyle J. Norton

The endometrium is the inner lining of the mammalian uterus and is very susceptible to hormone change, particularly in the menstrual cycle.
Endometrial cancer is a chronic condition characterized by irregular cells in the tissue of the endometrium.

It's the fourth most common cancer among women overall, after breast cancer, lung cancer, and bowel cancer.

Most cases of endometrial cancer start on the cells on the surface of the inner lining of the endometrium. At the advanced stage, after penetrating into the deeper layers, malignant cancer cells may travel a distance away to infect other healthy tissues and organs.

Endometrial cancer has been found to metastasize to the rectum, bladder, pelvic and para-aortic lymph nodes, vagina.

The exact causes of endometrial cancer are unknown. Epidemiological studies suggested that the increase in age, more years of menstruation, never been pregnant, obesity, and the use of hormone therapy are some of the major prevalent risk factors associated with endometrial cancer.

Some researchers indicated that hormone changes in women's bodies such as higher androgen and estrogen levels and lower levels of progesterone due to polycystic.

In the US, endometrial cancer is the most common cancer of the female reproductive organs. Every year, approximately 63,000 new cases of uterus cancer are diagnosed, causing the death of 11,000 women.

The 5-year survival rates for white and black women with the disease are 84% and 62% respectively.
At the invasive stage, the survival rate is 16%.

Cabbage is a species of Brassica oleracea belonging to the family Brassicaceae (or Cruciferae), native to the Mediterranean region along the seacoast. The veggie has a short stem with a crowded mass of leaves, usually green but in some varieties, it may be red or purplish.

On findings a natural wholefood for the treatment of cancer, researchers examined the effects of 3,3'-Diindolylmethane (DIM), a major in vivo product of indole-3-carbinol (I3C), which is a promising anticancer agent derived from vegetables of the Brassica genus including cabbage on the endometrial cancer cell line.

According to the results of the tested analysis,* DIM induced cytotoxic activity by increasing the level of TGF-alpha transcripts by approximately 4-fold within 24 h of indole treatment in the tested cancer cells.
* DIM also induced a 4-fold increase in the activity of the estrogen response marker, alkaline phosphatase (AP), the cancer markers.

In other words, DIM increased the maximum stimulatory effect of estrogen on TGF-alpha expression to induce cancer cell death.

* DIM alone treatment stimulated levels of secreted TGF-alpha protein by >10-fold. More precisely, the elevated addition of TGF-alpha inhibited the growth of Ishikawa cells, whereas incubation with a TGF-alpha antibody partially reversed the growth-inhibitory effects of DIM.

Based on the results, researchers wrote, " ligand-independent estrogen receptor agonist activity of DIM, and uncover an essential role for the stimulation in TGF-alpha expression and the TGF-alpha activated signal transduction pathway in the potent cytostatic effects of DIM in endometrial cancer cells".

Taken together, cabbage may be considered a functional food for the treatment of endometrial cancer pending the confirmation of the larger sample size and multicenter human study.

#Strawberries Inhibit Genes Associated with the Risk of #Leukemia (CEM), Researchers say

Kyle J. Norton

Scientists may have found a whole food which contains abundantly bioactive compounds for the prevention and treatment of leukemia with no side effects, some studies suggested.

Leukemia is a medical and chronic condition of abnormal increase of white blood cells produced by the bone marrow and/or the lymphatic system or the body's blood-forming tissues.

Depending on the malignant granulocytes or lymphocytes, leukemia is classified into myelogenous or lymphoblastic leukemia.

The causes of leukemia are unknown. However, most common risk factors associated with the onset of the disease include radiation exposure, treatment chemotherapy for cancer, smoking, family history of leukemia, and exposure to certain chemicals such as benzene.

Genetic preposition, according to some researchers, also plays a critical role in the prevalent risk of leukemia.

Dr. Nazanin Heidari, the lead scientist in the investigation of the genetic impact in the risk of leukemia wrote, "Epigenetic and genetic alterations are two mechanisms participating in leukemia, which can inactivate genes involved in leukemia pathogenesis or progression".

The team continued, inactivation of the genes ASPP1, TP53, IKZF1, and P15, have been correlated with poor prognosis in acute lymphoid leukemia (ALL), chronic lymphoid leukemia (CLL), chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML) and acute myeloid leukemia (AML), respectively. And abnormal genes specifically involved in leukemogenesis such as chromosomal translocations as well as genetic or epigenetic alterations, are involved in leukemogenesis.

Therefore, people who carry the mutated or inactive genes are at an increased risk of the condition.

Strawberry is a genius of Fragaria × ananassa belongs to the family Roseaceae. The fruits have been grown all over the world with a suitable climate for commercial profits and health benefits.

The major chemical compounds of strawberry include anthocyanin and ellagitannins and p-Hydroxybenzoic acid, p-coumaric acid, ellagic acid, cyanidin-3-glucoside, pelargonidin-3-glucoside, kaempferol, quercetin, and myricetin

In finding a natural ingredient or whole food for the prevention and treatment of leukemia (CEM), researchers at the Indian Institute of Science evaluated the consumption of berry fruits, including strawberries, against oxidative stress-mediated diseases.

In vivo, the methanolic extract of strawberry (MESB) fruits demonstrated a potential activity against leukemia (CEM) cell lines.

In mice models, the extract of the fruit also displayed cancer therapeutic and chemopreventive potential.

According to the tested assay, MESB induced cytotoxicity in cancer cells, irrespective of origin, through its antioxidant properties in a concentration- and time-dependent manner.

Furthermore, according to the results at the end of the experience, MESB treatment affected tumor cell proliferation by activating apoptosis with no side effects.

In-depth analysis of the effect of the extract, researchers found that MESB induces cancer cell apoptosis through enhancing the function of the tumor suppressor gene p70 in the intrinsic pathway of apoptosis bypassed the mutated tumor suppressor gene p53.

Dr. Somasagara RR, the lead author said, "Strawberry fruits possess both cancer preventive and therapeutic values".

Taken together, strawberries with the abundant bioactive compound may be considered a functional fruit for the prevention and treatment of leukemia (CEM) with no side effects.

#Banana Inhibits Hypertension and Oxidative Stress Related Diseases, Researchers Say

Kyle J. Norton

Scientists may have found an inexpensive whole fruit for the prevention and treatment of hypertension with no side effects, some studies found.
Banana is the common name of a genus of tropical herbaceous plants. It can grow from 3 to 9 m and belongs to the family of the lily and the orchid.

Hypertension is a medical condition characterized by abnormally high blood pressure. one of the preventable risk factors of heart disease associated with the cluster of metabolic syndrome.

In other words, high blood pressure means raising the pressure in your heart. the condition can be acute or chronic.

Blood pressure is the force of blood pushing against the walls of the arteries as the heart pumps out blood.

Chronic high blood pressure epidemiologically can damage the arteries and cause blood clots to form in the arteries, blocking the blood flow and contributing to the onset of cardiovascular and neuro diseases.

Although certain chronic conditions such as kidney disease are found to associate with chronic hypertension which can only be treated by addressing the usable condition, the syndrome in the Western world is mostly a result of unhealthy diet and obesity.

According to a joint study led by the Tecnológico de Monterrey, that examined the effects of

Western and Modern Mexican dietary patterns and the incident hypertension in Mexican women, the comparison of participants who followed the diet with loaded heavily with vegetables, fruits and legumes and who follow the Western and Modern Mexican dietary patterns loaded heavily with processed meats, fast foods, and red meat; and finally the third component was loaded heavily with corn tortillas, hot peppers, and sodas suggested that

* The multivariable-adjusted odds of hypertension in the highest quartile of the W pattern were 24% higher than the odds for individuals in the lowest quartile.

* Women in the highest quartile of the MM pattern had 15% higher odds than women in the lowest quartile.

* And The Fruits & Vegetables (FV) pattern was not significantly associated with hypertension.

These results strongly indicated high blood pressure can be prevented by following a healthy diet with high fruits and vegetables, whole grain and low saturated and trans fat, red meat and processed foods.

On finding a natural chemical compound or whole food for the prevention and treatment of hypertension, researchers evaluate the corosolic acid (CRA) antihypertensive activity, a constituent of banana leaves.

The experiment included Six-week-old male SHR-cp rats, an animal model of metabolic syndrome that was fed a high-fat diet containing 0.072% CRA for 14 weeks.
Treatment with CRA lowered blood pressure, which was elevated in control animals, by 10% after 8 weeks, and serum-free fatty acids by 21% after 2 weeks.

Oxidative stress markers thiobarbituric acid-reactive substances and 8-hydroxydeoxyguanosine in the tested animal were also decreased by 27% and 59%, respectively, after 2 weeks.

Furthermore, CRA treatment also reduced the levels of myeloperoxidase markers, 3-nitrotyrosine, and 3-chlorotyrosine, by 38% and 39%, respectively, after 10 weeks, and decreased the levels of high sensitivity C-reactive protein, markers of inflammation, after 6 weeks.

The presence of a marker of inflammation is an indication of inflammation.

These results clearly suggested that CRA ameliorates hypertension, and oxidative stress caused by the inflammation in SHR-cp rats.

Dr. Yamaguchi Y, the lead scientist said, "CRA can be beneficial for preventing atherosclerosis-related diseases that are an increasing health care problem worldwide".

Moreover, In a human study to test the effect of bananas on cold stress-induced hypertension, peak expiratory flow rate, and plasma ACE activity, researchers showed that

*Banana treatment reduced the systolic blood pressure (P < 0.005), diastolic blood pressure (P < 0.025), and mean arterial blood pressure (P < 0.005) during cold stress in healthy volunteers compared to controls.

* There were no significant changes in heart rate and peak expiratory flow rate but only a significant decrease in plasma angiotensin-converting enzyme activity after banana treatment.

Levels of plasma angiotensin-converting enzyme are high in patients with hypertension.

Dr. Sarkar C, the lead scientist said' "Banana decreased the rise of systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure in healthy volunteers subjected to cold stress test without much effect on heart rate and peak expiratory flow rate".

Taken together, a banana may be considered a functional fruit for the prevention and treatment of hypertension with no side effects.
