#Curcumin Found in #Herbal #Turmeric Exerts an Inhibitory Effect on #LupusNephritis in Vivos

By Kyle J. Norton

Lupus nephritis is a condition of the kidneys an inflammation caused by systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), an autoimmune disease.
It is a type of glomerulonephritis in which the glomeruli become inflamed.

Kidneys are a pair of bean-shaped organs, located just below the rib cage, one on each side of your spine with a function to filter out blood toxins through urinary secretion.

Believe it or not, every day, the blood passes the kidneys many times. Some people with only 10% of kidney function showed no symptoms of toxin accumulation.

However, if the kidney fails to cleanse the blood due to kidney failure, patients may experience symptoms of decreased urine output, and fluid retention in their legs, ankles, or feet.

Depending on the severity of toxins accumulation, some patients may also experience symptoms of shortness of breath and confusion.

Lupus nephritis reduced kidney function and may cause symptoms of sudden and unexplained swelling of feet, ankles, legs, fingers, arms, or the eyes, foamy appearance in urine, and frequent urination.

In severe cases, patients may also have symptoms of blood in urine and elevated blood pressure.

Out of many risk factors associated with the risk of lupus nephritis, some researchers suggested genetic preposition may be a strong impact that leads to the early onset of the disease.

Dr. the lead scientist wrote, " Although many SLE susceptibility genes have been identified, the genetic basis of LN is not as well understood".

And, "some of the established general SLE susceptibility genes are associated with LN, recent discoveries highlight several genes with renal functions that are specifically associated with LN. Some of these genes associated with LN help to explain the disparity in the prevalence of nephritis between individuals with SLE, and also partially explain differences in LN between ancestral backgrounds".

Turmeric is a perennial plant in the genus Curcuma, belongings to the family Zingiberaceae, native to tropical South Asia.

The herb has been used in traditional medicine as an anti-oxidant, hypoglycemic, colorant, antiseptic, and wound healing agent, and to treat flatulence, bloating, appetite loss, ulcers, eczema, inflammations, etc.

In finding a potential ingredient for the treatment of lupus nephritis, researchers investigated the effects of curcumin on a lupus nephritis (LN) induced animal model.

LN established New Zealand Black/White (NZB/W) F1 female mice, at 18 weeks of age were fed a standard diet or a diet containing 1 % curcumin until the end of the study.

During the study, infection with curcumin decreased the proteinuria level and serum levels of IgG1 and IgG2a which were elevated in LN mice.

Where proteinuria is the ratio of a protein/creatinine greater than 45 mg/mmol and high levels of IgG1, IgG2a are an indication of immune defect.

Additionally, curcumin also protected the kidneys against inflammation by reducing the anti-dsDNA IgG antibodies which were also elevated in NZB/W F1 female mice.

Where elevated levels of anti-dsDNA IgG antibodies are associated with ongoing inflammation and damage to the kidneys.

Furthermore, IgG immune complex deposition in the glomeruli was also reduced in curcumin-treated mice.

In other words, curcumin suppressed the pro-inflammatory expression in the kidney glomeruli.

Moreover, according to the kidney-tested assays, kidney inflammation was also decreased after curcumin treatment.

More importantly, researchers discovered that treatment with anti-CD25 antibody injection that causes Treg depletion also affects the therapeutic effects of curcumin.

Where the anti-CD25 antibody is a conventional medicine used for enhancing the immune response.

More precisely, curcumin cannot be used in combination with the anti-CD25 antibody daclizumab that
targets the T cells for the treatment of lupus nephritis.

Based on the findings, researchers said, "Curcumin exerted a protective effect against LN in NZB/W F1 mice. We speculate that the protective effects of curcumin in LN may involve, at least in part, its interaction with Treg cells".

Taken altogether, turmeric-processed abundantly bioactive compound curcumin may be considered supplements for the prevention and treatment of lupus nephritis, pending the confirmation of the larger sample size and multicenter human study.

Intake of turmeric in the form of a supplement should be taken with extreme care to prevent overdose acute liver toxicity.

The Effects of #Greentea #Phytochemical #Catechins and #Flavanols on Nephrotoxicity, According to Studies

By Kyle J. Norton

Green tea showed to inhibit or exhibited kidney function in toxin elimination in deteriorated renal function in a patient with chronic renal disease, studies proposed.

Renal Disease is an impaired function in toxin elimination for more than a specific time as a result of kidney damage or injury.

Green tea, a precious drink processes a number of health benefits known to almost everyone in Asia and the Western world. However, as yin in nature herbal medicine, or food, long-term injection of large amounts may obstruct the balance of yin-yang, inducing "yin excessive syndrome" or "yang vacuity syndrome" including weakened immunity and painful case of GERD,... according to traditional Chinese medicine's Yin-Yang theory. Adding a slice of ginger will be helpful to solve the problem.

In mice fed with a powdered diet containing green tea polyphenolic extract (0.1%) starting 3 days prior to CsA treatment (25 mg/kg, i.g. daily for 3 weeks).showed a decreased renal nuclear DNA-encoded oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS) protein ATP synthase-β (AS-β)by 42%, mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA)-encoded OXPHOS protein NADH dehydrogenase-3 (ND3) involved oxidize nutrients for energy conversion by 87%.

Flavanols (polyphenols) are rich phytochemicals isolated from green tea, particularly in the expression in the form of the most bioactive flavanol EGCG.

Oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS) protein ATP synthase-β (AS-β) plays a key role in energy production and regulating the generation of free radicals, and apoptosis through the respiratory chain.

Mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA)-encoded OXPHOS protein NADH dehydrogenase-3 (ND3) in reduced risk of gene mutation through oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS).

Dr. Rehman H, the lead author said," Green tea polyphenols markedly attenuated CsA-induced renal injury and improved renal function. Together, these results demonstrate that green tea polyphenols attenuate CsA-induced kidney injury, at least in part, through the stimulation of MB".

In support of the efficacy of green tea for the treatment of renal disease, the study of F40 rats was randomly divided into 4 groups. Group 1 acted as control; group 2 received contrast medium (intravenous iodixanol, 10 mL/kg, as a single dose); group 3 received contrast medium and then green tea extract for 3 days (10 mg/kg/d, intraperitoneal); and group 4 first received green tea and then contrast medium, researchers showed that group treated with green tea had significantly higher overall scores than the control group.

The treatment group also expressed a significant improvement in the progression of renal degeneration caused by the nephrotoxicity of contrast media.

Unfortunately, according to the joint study led by the China Medical University, inhibited the elimination of indoxyl sulfate (IS) and p-cresyl sulfate (PCS), highly protein-bound nephron-cardiovascular toxins in CRF rats.

Catechin is another major chemical constituent isolated from Green tea (GT) and a popular beverage in China.

Indoxyl sulfate(IS), a circulating uremic toxin has been found to associate with the development of glomerular sclerosis and interstitial fibrosis.

P-Cresyl sulfate (PCS) is also a uremic toxin generated by intestinal bacteria
which has an implication to worsen the outcome of patients with chronic kidney disease and increased cardiovascular burden.

Furthermore, green tea injection of catechin. in the experiment mice also showed significantly increased levels of serum creatinine (Cr) and blood urea nitrogen (BUN), an indication of further kidney damage after ingestion of green tea catechin.

Dr. Peng YH, the lead author said, "GT inhibited the elimination of nephron-cardiovascular toxins such as IS and PCS, and deteriorated the renal function in CRF rats".

Taking together, the conflict results of green tea in the expression of chronic renal disease may be due to study design, the group sample, the subject selection doses administration,........., therefore patients with renal disease should consult with specialists before taking.

#Yoga Intervention Improves All Aspects of Quality of Life of Heart Failure Patients, Researchers Say

By Kyle J. Norton

Some scientists postulated that Yoga may be considered an integrated form of exercise in improving cardiovascular endurance, inflammatory expression, flexibility, and quality of life of heart failure patients.
Heart failure is a medical condition characterized by insufficient to maintain blood flow to meet the body's needs, inducing symptoms of shortness of breath, excessive tiredness, and leg swelling.....

Yoga, the ancient technique practice for harmonizing external and internal body well beings, through breath control, meditation, bodily movement, and gesture..... has been best known to people in the Western world and some parts of Asia due to health benefits reported by various respectable institutes' research and supported by health advocates.

In a study of 130 heart failure patients recruited, 65 patients were randomly selected to receive 12-week yoga therapy and standard medical therapy (yoga group). Other patients (n=65) received only standard medical therapy (control group) researchers showed that

* Yoga group expressed an enormous improvement in a decrease in heart rate, blood pressure, and rate pressure product (RPP)compared to the control group

* All heart rate ratios and variability were improved compared to the control

Dr. Krishna BH, the lead author said, "Twelve-week yoga therapy significantly improved the parasympathetic activity and decreased the sympathetic activity in heart failure patients."

Truly, yoga mindfulness induced relaxation of the central nervous system uninhibited production of stress hormones in facilitated production of inflammatory makers through interaction between immune cells-particularly macrophages and lymphocytes, one of a number of markers involved in heart failure disease progression.

Chronic psychological stress is found to have a strong negative influence on heart failure patients as a result of losing the ability to regulate the inflammatory response.

Also, yoga slow breathing and meditation induced relaxation of the central nervous system in stimulated production of nitric oxide NO through the expression of nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) in relaxed the vessel muscles and heart muscles in regulation dilation and reduced stress hormone in overproduction of prostaglandins E2 in activated muscle constriction, plus improving in heart rate, blood pressure and rate pressure product (RPP).

Furthermore, yoga-selected postures were found not only to improve flexibility but also enhance the functioning lung in optimized oxygen demand of the heart through a circulatory system controlled by homeostatic mechanisms without inducing work overload to the heart, thus increasing peak exercise capacity (peakVO2) in patients with heart failure.

These results suggested that yoga intervention exerted a significant effect in improved cardiovascular endurance in all aspects.

Moreover, yoga mindfulness reconnected and re-balanced the mind and body by bringing back the presence while dealing with a profound and effective way that lead to actively engaging in a healthy diet and change of lifestyle in participated improvement in functional capacity.

These findings suggested that yoga, as an integrated exercise, has a direct impact in enhance health and quality of life in patients with heart failure.

The result above was supported by the randomized controlled trials, in the review of the literature published on MEDLINE, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, Excerpta Medica database, LILACS, Physiotherapy Evidence Database, together with the Scientific Electronic Library Online, and Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health up to December 2013.

According to the study, compared to the control, researchers indicated that
* Yoga group displayed a significant and positive impact on peak exercise capacity (peakVO2) and quality-of-life (HRQOL)

*Yoga participants also showed an improvement in Weighted mean differences (WMD) (some of the studies make a greater contribution to the average than others and global HRQOL standardized mean differences).

In clarification of the efficacy in treatment for CHF, Dr. Gomes-Neto M, the lead author said,"Yoga enhances peak VO2 and HRQOL in patients with CHF and could be considered for inclusion in cardiac rehabilitation programs".

And, the study of 40 patients (38 AA, 1 Asian, and 1 Caucasian) with systolic or diastolic HF randomized to the yoga group (YG, n = 21) or the control group (CG, n = 19) with all patients followed a home walk program, suggested that yoga group demonstrated a significant improvement of all tested aspects, such as for flexibility (P = 0.012), treadmill time (P = 0.002), VO2peak (P = 0.003), and the biomarkers (IL-6, P = 0.004; CRP, P = 0.016; and EC-SOD, P = 0.012) compared to control

Taking all together, Yoga therapy may offer additional benefits to the standard medical care of patients with HF by improving cardiovascular endurance, inflammatory markers, flexibility, and quality of life.

#Phytochemical #Alliin Inhibits #NeuroDegenerativeDiseases Associated with #BetaAmyloid (A) Toxicity and Neuron Apoptosis in Vitros

By Kyle J. Norton

Neuroprotection is an action induced by the preservation of neuronal structure and/or function, including the use of medicines and herbs.
In other words, neuroprotection protects neuronal integrity against the reduction in the rate of neuronal loss over time, particularly in neurodegenerative diseases.

Neurodegenerative disease is a condition associated with the progressive loss of neurons occurring mostly in older adults, including dementia, with the most common being Alzheimer`s disease (AD).

According to the statistic, dementia affects over 47.5 million people worldwide, approximately 58 percent are living in low and middle-income countries.

Believe it or not, 5.8 million Americans of all ages are living with Alzheimer's dementia in 2019 and two-thirds of people with Alzheimer's disease are women.

Conventionally, there is no cure for dementia. The purpose of the medications that are used for the treatment of dementia is to improve dementia symptoms and slow down the progression of the disease.

Some researchers are concerned that Alzheimer's disease in people younger than the age of 60 was up 5 percent over the past few decades may be correlated to the promotion of a high-fat diet in the US.

Dr. Ruan Y, the lead scientist wrote, "A higher dietary saturated fat intake was significantly associated with an increased risk of 39% and 105% for AD (RR: 1.39; 95% CI: 1.00, 1.94) and dementia (RR: 2.05; 95% CI: 1.06, 3.98), respectively".

And, "Dose-response analysis indicated a 4 g/day increment of saturated fat intake was related to 15% higher risk of AD (RR: 1.15; 95% CI: 1.01, 1.31)".

Alliin (S-allyl-L-cysteine-S-oxide) is a phytochemical compound sulfoxide, a derivative of the amino acid cysteine, belonging to the class of sulfur compounds, found abundantly in fresh garlic and onion.

In the urgency to discover a natural and potential compound for the treatment of neurodegenerative disease, scientists examined the alliin neuroprotective activity.

In vitro, alliin exerted a significant effect to protect neuronal cell integrity and viability against beta-amyloid (A) toxicity and apoptosis.

Furthermore, in vitro, alliin inhibited oxidative stress caused by overexpression of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in cells, facilitating several neurodegenerative diseases including Alzheimer's disease (AD).

In lipopolysaccharide- (LPS-) stimulated 3T3-L1 used in biological research on adipose tissue, incubation in a period of 24 h together with 100 μmol/L alliin, alliin prevented the increase of proinflammatory cytokines in the liver, muscle, heart, and brain cells through its antioxidant activity.

The inhibition of inflammation of alliin was attributed to the decreased expression of the ERK1/2 pathway involved in the expression of oxidative stress and inflammation.

In other words, alliin protects the brain cells by suppressing the LPS inflammatory signals by generating an anti-inflammatory gene expression.

Taken altogether, alliin may be considered a supplement for neuroprotection, depending on the confirmation of the larger sample size and multicenter human study.

Intake of alliin in the form of a supplement should be taken with extreme care to prevent overdose acute liver toxicity.

Long-Term Intake of #Bromelain Decreases Inflammation Severity and Diseases Associated with Colonic Inflammation, According to Researchers

By Kyle J. Norton

Colitis is a medical condition characterized by the inflammation of the large intestine, including the colon, caecum, and rectum.
Depending on the type of colitis, the most common prevalent factors found in patients with such as condition are.
* Familial history of inflammatory bowel disease (odds ratio (OR) 4.3)

* Breastfeeding (OR 2.1)

* Bacille Calmette-Guerin vaccination (OR 3.6 )

* History of eczema (OR 2.1 (1-4.5))

* Disease during pregnancy (OR 8.9 (1.5-52)), and

* Bedroom sharing (OR 7.1 (1.9-27.4))

* Crohn's disease both appendectomy and tonsillectomy have positive associations. Well-established

* Smoking status

* If you are over 50, you are at increased to develop colitis.

And * Depression and psychosocial stress, according to the basis of data from the Nurses' Health Study, increase the risk for CD, but not UC, among women. Psychological factors might have been found to induce CD development.

Furthermore, patients with medicals condition such as hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, and atrial fibrillation are associated with an increased risk to develop ischemic colitis(IC), according to the study by Beijing Hospital, Ministry of Health.

Believe it or not, regular drinking of tap water was a protective factor and ulcerative colitis appendicectomy was a protective factor.

Bromelain, a proteolytic enzyme found in pineapples (Ananas comosus) has been used in traditional medicine as an inflammatory agent and to treat pains, strains, muscle aches and pains and ease back pain and chronic joint pain, skin diseases, etc.

With an aim to find a potential compound for the treatment of colitis, researchers examined the effects of bromelain on the inflammatory response that lead to the onset of colitis.

In epithelial TNFR in rats colitis induced by the intracolonic administration of 2, 4, 6-trinitrobenzene sulfonic acid, injection of purified fruit bromelain (PFB) significantly decreased the increased expression of TNFR1 and TNFR2.

Where TNF-α receptor (TNFR) is a proinflammatory cytokine activated by the immune response.

Furthermore, typical symptoms associated with colitis such as infiltration of inflammatory cells, cytokine profiles, epithelial cell apoptosis, and epithelial tight junction barrier dysfunction were significantly ameliorated by PFB.

According to the chemical analysis, fruit bromelain showed a superior inhibition of TNFR2 than that exhibited on TNFR1 compared to those of stem bromelain complex.

In other words, PFB expressed its anti-inflammatory activity by blocking the activation of high expression of epithelial TNFRs.

Based on the findings, researchers said, "PFB-induced TNFR inhibition ameliorated colitis symptoms. These results supply novel insights into potential IBD treatment by PFB".

In other to reveal more information on bromelain anti-colitis effects, researchers evaluated the long-term dietary supplementation with pineapple (supplied as juice) in decreasing colon inflammation and neoplasia in Il10(-/-) mice with chronic colitis as compared with bromelain derived from the stem.

Colitis triggered in Il10(-/-) mice by exposure to the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug piroxicam for 6 months showed decreased histologic colon inflammation scores and lower incidence of inflammation-associated colonic neoplasia (35% versus 66%; P < 0.02), with fewer neoplastic lesions/colon (P = 0.05) after receiving treatment of fresh juice.

According to the tested assays, fresh pineapple juice demonstrated proteolytic activity in removing cell surface molecules that can affect leukocyte response.

Dr. Hale LP, the lead scientist wrote in the final report, "Long-term dietary supplementation with fresh or unpasteurized frozen pineapple juice with proteolytically active bromelain enzymes is safe and decreases inflammation severity and the incidence and multiplicity of inflammation-associated colonic neoplasia in this commonly used murine model of inflammatory bowel disease".

Taken altogether, bromelain used alone or combined with conventional medicine may be considered a remedy for the prevention and treatment of colitis associated with inflammatory bowel disease, pending the confirmation of the larger sample size and multicenter human study.

Intake of bromelain in the form of a supplement should be taken with extreme care to prevent overdose acute liver toxicity.

#OnionPeelExtract (#OPE), in the Promotion of Endothelial Function in Overweight and Obese Patients, According to Studies

By Kyle J. Norton

The endothelium is the lining of the interior surface of blood vessels and lymphatic vessels. In other words, endothelium formed an interface to separate the circulating blood or lymph in the lumen and the rest of the vessel wall.

The endothelium processes some main functions, inclduing acting as a semi-selective barrier between the vessel lumen and surrounding tissue and transporting white blood cells into and out of the bloodstream.

Endothelial dysfunction is a medical condition that reduces the function of the endothelium caused by the failure of the endothelial inner lining of the small arteries to function normally, affecting the cardio-functioning.

Epidemiologically, endothelial dysfunction has been found to induce cardiovascular conditions, including coronary artery disease (CAD), hypertension, and diastolic dysfunction.

The causes of endothelial dysfunction are associated with a low level of free radical NO that modulates vascular tone and endothelial function.

Endothelial dysfunction caused by reduced levels of NO in the body induces excess vasoconstriction of blood vessels, increases the risk of platelet activation and inflammation of the arterial wall, and stimulates lipid peroxidation, leading to the complications of hypertension and coagulation.

Dr. Tousoulis D, the lead scientist wrote, " This substance (Nitric oxide (NO)) ....has a wide range of biological properties that maintain vascular homeostasis, including modulation of vascular dilator tone, regulation of local cell growth, and protection of the vessel from injurious consequences of platelets and cells circulating in the blood, playing in this way a crucial role in the normal endothelial function'.

And, "A growing list of conditions (associated with reduced levels of NO), including those commonly associated as risk factors for atherosclerosis such as hypertension, hypercholesterolemia, smoking, diabetes mellitus, and heart failure are associated with the diminished release of nitric oxide into the arterial wall either because of impaired synthesis or excessive oxidative degradation".

The onion is a plant in the genus Allium, belonging to the family Alliaceae, a close relation to garlic. It is often called the "king of vegetables" because of its pungent taste and found in a large number of recipes and preparations spanning almost the totality of the world's cultures.

Depending on the variety, an onion can be sharp, spicy, tangy, pungent, mild, or sweet.

On finding a potential compound for the treatment of endothelial dysfunction researchers examined the effect of consumption of onion peel extract (OPE) on endothelial function in healthy overweight and obese individuals.

72 healthy overweight and obese participants included in the randomized double-blind, placebo-controlled study were randomly assigned to receive a red, soft capsule of OPE (100 mg quercetin/d, 50 mg quercetin twice daily; n = 36 participants) or an identical placebo capsule (n = 36) for 12 weeks.

According to the tested analysis and compared with baseline values, the OPE group showed significantly improved flow-mediated dilation (FMD) associated with increased blood flow in the artery at 12 wk, from 12.5 ± 5.2 to 15.2 ± 6.1, compared to the placebo group.

Furthermore, the circulating endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs) involved in the cells of bone marrow that enter the vasculature by circulating angiogenic factors were significantly increased in the OPE group, compared to no change in the placebo group.

In the OPE group, there was no change in nitroglycerin-mediated dilation associated with impaired arterial dilatation response compared to the placebo group.

In the comparison of the endothelial dysfunction on the lowest quartile (cutoff value, 8.6%), the FMD improved from 26% to 9% by OPE.

These results display a strong effect of OPE in the promotion of endothelial function through many aspects of the overweight and obese participants.

Based on the results, researchers suggested, "Medium-term administration of OPE an improvement in FMD and circulating EPCs".

Taken altogether, onion processed with a higher amount of onionin A (ONA) may be considered a remedy for the prevention and treatment of endothelial dysfunction, pending the confirmation of the larger sample size and multicenter human study.

#Bromelain Modulates the Immune Activity in the Production of #Cytokines for the Body's Needs, According to Studies

By Kyle J. Norton

Immunogenicity is a condition in which immune responses are regulated. In other words, immunogenicity is the ability to modulate the immune response to the body's needs.
The immune system is the set of cells and their activity against antigens or infectious agents that comprises the body's defense system against diseases.

The immune system plays a critical role in keeping us healthy and preventing infections.

The immune response is an action of the immune system activated by antigens, including the immune response to pathogenic microorganisms and their products, allergies, graft rejections, as well as autoimmunity to self-antigens.

The immune response after pathogen recognition by the immune system, the macrophage cells stimulates the production of the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines with an aim to destroy the pathogens which try to enter the body.

With the antigen presentation takes place, the immune system also activates specific T helper cells
CD4 helper T cells coordinate a targeted antigen-specific immune response.

However, if the immune system fails to kill all pathogens in the acute phase of infection in a set period of time between 3-8 weeks, it will compromise, leading a low-grade inflammation, a condition that facilitates many chronic diseases.

Bromelain, a proteolytic enzyme found in pineapples (Ananas comosus) has been used in traditional medicine as an inflammatory agent and to treat pains, strains, muscle aches and pains and ease back pain and chronic joint pain, skin diseases, etc.

On finding a potential compound for the treatment of chronic inflammatory, malignant, and autoimmune diseases, researchers examined the effects of bromelain immunological effect.

According to the tested assays,
* Bromelain induces pro-inflammatory cytokine production in peripheral blood mononuclear cells in vitro.

* Compared to no effect of IFN-alpha and IFN-gamma applied alone, bromelain synergistically increased TNF production.

* Injection of bromelain has a higher (10- to 40-fold) inducing capacity for TNF production compared to the untreated enzyme.

* Furthermore, PBMNC of healthy donors acquire the ability to produce TNF-alpha, IL-1 beta, and IL-6 when incubated ex vivo with IFN-gamma compared to peripheral blood mononuclear cells in vitro.

Where IFN-alpha and IFN-gamma are cytokines that are critical for innate and adaptive immunity against viral, some bacterial, and protozoal infections.

In other words, the oral administration of bromelain is related to its ability to induce cytokine production by modulating immune activity.

Based on the findings, researchers said, "the biological effects observed after oral administration of poly enzyme preparations are related to their ability to induce cytokine production. This may explain the antitumor effects of such enzymes".

More precisely, "poly enzyme preparations may have a stronger immunomodulatory effect when used in combination with IFN-gamma".

Taken altogether, bromelain used alone or combined with conventional medicine may be considered a remedy for immunological effect, pending the confirmation of the larger sample size and multicenter human study.
