Some articles have been used as references in medical research, such as international journal Pharma and Bio science, ISSN 0975-6299.
Premenstrual syndrome effects over 70% to 90% of women before menopause in the US and less for women in Southeast Asia because of their difference in living style and social structure. It is defined as faulty function of the ovaries related to the women's menstrual cycle, it effects a women's physical and emotional state, and sometimes interferes with daily activities as a result of hormone fluctuation. The syndrome occurs one to two weeks before menstruation and then declines when the period starts.
Chinese herbalists believe that PMS is also caused by
a) Deficiency of yang qi in the kidney showed to presence with over production of bad estrogen(5) and induce kidney abnormal function in regulating fluid circulation(8), causing symptoms of anxiety, panic attacks, fear(2), fatigue, lightheadedness, and headache(1)
b) Deficiency of yin normally happens to women in peri menopause and may also induce symptoms of menopause to women with PMS such as hair dry, restlessness, excitability, hard stool(3), painful back and knees, dry vagina, dysphoria with feverish sensation in the chest, palms and soles, etc.(4), due to low levels of estrogen produced before period(5),
1. Rehmannia glutinosa (Shu Di Huang)
Rehmannia glutinosa has been used in traditional Chinese medicine in treating kidney disorder(6)(7) to restore the balance of yin and yang qi of the kidney for treatment of symptoms of water retention(8), weight gain(9) in kidney yin deficiency women with pre menstrual syndrome, probably through raising levels of estrogen(9).
2. Morinda root(Ba Ji Tian)
Morinda root has been used in traditional medicine for treatment kidney yang deficiency to improve menstrual difficulties(12) through hormone bablancing(13), reduce antispasmodic effects and fluid retention(11) and induce blood flow(10) for lessening the symptoms of cramp and pain(11) and blood stagnation some women with PMS.
3. Cuscuta (Tu Si Zi)
Cuscuta, a kidney tonic medicine(14), showed to restore the balance the yin and yang qi of the kidney for treatment of water retention(14) and cramp and pain(15) in women with PMS, induce sex desire through raising the levels of testosterone in women with yang kidney qi deficiency(16) and reduce nervous tension(17), probably through reduction of NO-mediated formation
4. Cinnamon Bark (Rou Gui)
Cinnamon bark, a qi tonic herb(very hot in nature), has been used in traditional Chinese medicine release the qi stagnation of our body including liver and kidney, for treatment of cramp and pain(18), nervous tension and eating disorder(19), probably through regulation of 5-Hydroxy tryptamine (5-HT; Serotonin) is an important neurotransmitter.

Dementia
II. Causes of dementia
B. Free radical causes of dementia
B.2. Parkinson's disease
1. Free radicals and Parkinson's disease
Patients with Parkinson's disease have low levels of polyunsaturated fat in the substania nigra(44)(45) than other part of the brain, but higher levels of lipid peroxidation indicated by plasma malonaldehyde (44). Also patients with the disease found to contain waste pigments of lipofusion(46) and other polymers in the neurons(47) where dopamine is most active.
2. Aging and Parkinson's disease
According to Julius-Maximilians-University, physiological aging and OS-dependent aggregation of proteins, accompanied with environment toxins(49) are found to associated to the progression of the disease(48).
3. Antioxidants and Parkinson's disease
Antioxidants play an vital role for patients with Parkinson's disease.
a. Superoxide dismutase
The progression of the disease may be associated with the decrease levels of superoxide dismutase, a antioxidant enzyme(50). According to University of Thessaloniki, Patients with advanced Parkinson' diseases showed a statistically significant decrease of SOD activity in whole blood and in red blood cells(51).
b. NADH ubiquinone reductase
Levels of NADH ubiquinone reductase is decreased in the substania nigra(52) in patients with PD, leading to neurons apoptosis, but this can be treated with antioxidants Acetyl-L-carnitine (53) and alpha lipoic acid(54).
c. Uric acid
People with a high blood level of the natural antioxidant uric acid have a lower risk of developing Parkinson's disease(55) than do people with lower levels(56), but high levels of uric acid increases the risk of kidney diseases(57) and gout(58).
d. Glutathione
Glutathoine showed to deactivate the harmful product HNE in lipid peroxidation(59).

Dementia
About 5-8% of all people over the age of 65 have some form of dementia, and this number doubles every five years above that age. Dementia is the loss of mental ability, severe enough to interfere with people's every life and Alzheimer's disease is the most common type of dementia in aging people.

In this article, we will discuss How Traditional Chinese Medicine Helps to Treat PMS.
Traditional Chinese medicine used over 4000 thousand years in treating women reproductive system disorder believed Pre menstrual syndrome is also caused by Liver Qi Stagnation in many cases.
Liver is important in carbohydrate synthesis and fat and protein metabolism(1). Liver qi stagnation causes abnormal function of liver in regulating the production of estrogen(2) and other hormones by glands(2) for controlling menstrual blood(3), leading to blood stagnation in the productive system and inducing symptoms of premenstrual syndrome including irritability, anger, depression(4)(5), etc,.
1. Angelica synthesis (Dang Qui)
Angelica synthesis, a queen herb for women reproductive tonic, has been used in traditional Chinese medicine in treating all women productive disorder(6) by releasing the qi stagnation cause of blood stasis(7) including pre menstrual syndrome. probably through its phytochemicals estrogenic(8)(9) and antiestrogenic(10) activities in restored hormone imbalance before ovulation and inhibited the over active uterus muscles(11)(12)(13) cause of pre menstrual pain and cramps(14)(15) and irregular menstruation(15).
2. Milk thistle seed
Milk thistle seed used in the traditional Western medicine over thousand year for liver tonic, showed to restore the liver qi stagnation caused by environment toxins and other toxins(16) and regenerate the liver's cells(16) in reduced symptoms of PMS(17) caused by the changes in monoamine neurotransmitters(17)
