Whole food(herbal medicine) used as medical treatment,  linking health benefits in prevention, management and treatment of diseases has induced much interests in today renowned scientists.
But many researchers have raised question of herbal quality, because geographic differences, time of grown and harvest, etc. may effect their's potency. I do believe, these questions can only be answered by experience herbalists.

Intake of cruciferous vegetables has shown to express the chemopreventive and/or chemotherapeutic effect against abnormal cell growth in some cancer.

Sulforaphane and cisplatin, the major compound found in cruciferous vegetables, exhibited the interaction or cooperation growth‑inhibiting and apoptosis‑promoting activities, through their pro-oxidant activity, according to the Soonchunhyang University,

Cruciferous vegetables are the group of vegetables belonging to the family Brassicaceae, including cauliflower, cabbage, cress, bok choy, broccoli etc.

Antioxidant is types of chemical compound inhibited the free radicals to protect the body against oxidative damage.

In the study of phenolic compounds, kaempferol and quercetin, from the ethanol extract of Chinese cabbage (EtCC) revealed that the phytochemicals suppressed tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α-(a cell signaling protein (cytokine) involved in systemic inflammation) induced inflammatory response and activation of antioxidant response against free radical expression.

Furthermore, in support of the antioxidant effect of Cruciferous vegetables, isothiocyanates, another phytochemical compound found in the vegetable also inhibited the generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and protected against the induction of cytoprotective genes against oxidare stress.

Taking altogether, Cruciferous vegetables no doubt consist a strong antioxidant capacity in inhibited
free radical causes of cellular damage.

Dr. Joo HK, the lead researcher said, " regular consumption of vegetables containing dietary phytochemicals might be a potential therapeutic strategy to protect against various stresses, to prevent several pathological conditions, and to treat chronic vascular inflammation".
